Stacey the vet doctor with 2 other nurses gathering a sterile urine sample

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a really great experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We brought in my chocolate lab in for signs of urinary incontinence and I just felt like between the several nurses and Stacey, the in house vet doctor, did an amazing job explaining every single step. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt very comfortable and was treated with lots of kindness.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, it was a professional experience and I really look forward to working alongside them with their annual membership.

I was so excited when Modern Animal opened in our neighborhood... it's easy to get to and sometimes we even walk! We take our Labradoodle Solomon there and have been super happy with the staff and doctors. I never feel pressure to do unnecessary services and they are great about guiding us. Great location, staff, and the app is super easy to use too.

Mozisek gave me so much time to list my concerns about my Ruthie, ask questions about her care, and she even explained different options.

Unlike some of our experiences with other veterinarians in Austin, we never feel rushed. We truly appreciate the care and attention he gives to both us and our cat Reishi. Dr. Rob performed oral surgery to remove several of Reishi's teeth. It was the first major surgery we had experienced with her. He was extremely patient with our questions, took wonderful care of her, and guided us through the entire process. Reishi healed very quickly and had no postoperative complications, which we were especially grateful for after hearing about friends whose pets experienced infections and other issues following similar procedures elsewhere. Recently, Reishi had a cancer scare after an alarming initial assessment at an emergency vet. We were quite stressed. When we brought her to see Dr. Rob, he first acknowledged what we had been through and made us feel heard and cared for before discussing the next steps. He even emailed us with test results and next steps while he was on a family vacation, which showed us how deeply he cares about his patients. Fortunately, further testing showed that Reishi did not have cancer. Going through such a stressful experience felt much more manageable knowing that Reishi was under Dr. Rob's care. He is compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in both his patients and their families. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state and will have to find a new veterinarian. We truly hope we can find a clinic as wonderful as ATX Animal Clinic. It is the best veterinary clinic we have ever had, and we are incredibly grateful to Dr. Rob and the entire team.

Absolutely love this clinic, we have been coming here for years since moving to Austin. We see Dr…read more Hardy and she is wonderful. Very informative and kind. We recommended everyone to this clinic and my mom takes her dogs here as well. My only complaint would be the new front desk person I think her name is Kayla. It has been an awful experience trying to schedule anything with her. She has told me wrong information multiple times in regard to schedule appointments even when I asked her if she was sure cuz the info didn't sound right. It has been incredibly frustrating working with her. I wouldn't trust information coming from her and will be asking to speak to someone besides her from now on. Otherwise a wonderful clinic and have loved all the staff besides her. Highly recommends this vet clinic.

My cat was recently diagnosed (at a different vet) with a somewhat rare parasite (Tritrichomonas),…read moreand I was having a hard time finding a vet I felt confident in. My usual vet, who we have been seeing since adopting the cat almost 2 years ago, rudely dismissed my concerns over the phone and insisted that I needed to pay an $80 office visit fee just to get an answer to my question over the phone (the question was "What does the PCR panel test for?"). I started calling every other vet in Austin to find a clinic that has experience with Tritrichomonas and that I felt comfortable with. Several clinics admitted that they did not know what the parasite was or had never treated it before. Another lied and said "oh, that is super easy to treat and really common and straightforward!" which I knew was not accurate from the empirical literature online. I finally found Austin Urban Vet and the experience we have had so far has genuinely been night and day different from pervious clinics. From the very first call, the AUV team was empathetic to our situation, VERY transparent about pricing (they provided it in writing), and explicitly clear about which PCR diagnostic panel they use at AUV and exactly what it tests for. They were open and honest about their experience with Tritrichomonas and I immediately felt at ease and confident in the care that they could provide my cat. After chatting with my partner about my findings from calling almost every vet in Austin, we both agreed Austin Urban Vet was the best one to move forward with, so we made an appointment. Right off the bat, I was happy to find that AUV has a private parking lot (for free!). I headed inside with my cat and the team at the front desk was so kind and helpful. They quickly checked me in and invited me to grab a bottle of water or make myself a cup of coffee as I waited for the tech to take us into the room. We waited for maybe ~5 minutes before the tech took us to the exam room, where she scanned my cat for her microchip, weighed her, and asked questions about the presenting problem, history, etc. Dr. Helen was who attended us for the exam itself, and she was so kind and thorough. I really felt that she was providing genuine feedback, and she was honest about her experience with this parasite. She was transparent about the treatment plan and let me know her general thoughts (Ie., "If she is still positive, we will do X. If she is negative, we can try Y.") We are now waiting for the PCR results, but so far, I am so happy with our experience and feel confident that Dr. Helen will provide us with the best care possible.

SOUTH PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL is now owned by a VENTURE CAPITAL FIRM called National Veterinary Associates, which in turn is owned by JAB Holding company, JAB has tripled in size since it started buying up vets and charging confiscatory prices, taking advantage of our love of our pets. I gave them two stars because at least they did my cat right and he's fine now. BUT they started burying me in pitch emails too, trying to feed fear about my cat's health, constantly trawling me for more money, more money, more money, all while pretending to care about my cat when they don't. If the people at South Park Animal Hospital really loved animals as much as they love MONEY, they wouldn't have sold out. But they did. I will never go back and suggest you don't start.
