I love this place. It's so cute inside I got the saffron rose latte and they put this vanilla cream on top. They don't put a lot so it's not overpowering and the cream is m so good! The coffee drink has a very unique slightly floral flavor but in a great way. I love that they have very interesting drinks but not so many that you're overwhelmed. Have been here a few times now and tried different drinks and I have to say all of them have been really good! I love that this place is so close to home and I can come by walking. It's a little hard to find from the street, it's tucked away to the side. Shopping plaza has parking spots and usually easy to get in and out. Service is amazing, staff is welcoming and warm and they are fast in preparing drinks. There are tables inside and a few outside. It's a clean aesthetic, whilst incorporating middle eastern influence (turkish/armenian sand heater barrel for coffee) and old school classics (check out the tiny TV on the bookcase!) Drinks are a little pricier but worth a try! We especially liked the signature saffron rose latte $8, while the matcha banana $8 was okay. I definitely think the matcha lacked in earthiness and overall flavor, but the banana really shined through. I liked that the banana was still chunky and not completely blended like other places. The person working was kind, and you can tell hoe dedicated he is to his craft - he put together our drinks like it was art! Def coming here to study. I'm honestly so heartbroken writing this. This little café wasn't just a place to grab coffee it became part of my routine and something I genuinely looked forward to. From the very first visit, the owners made me feel so welcome, like I wasn't just another customer but someone they actually cared about i remember they would talk to me about their ingredients and it was just a great experience I was only passing by to get boba next door but they were close and I ran into Shams cafe I always brought my bf and friends over here and they enjoyed and miss this place too because it was truly one of a kind The atmosphere was always warm and peaceful, the kind of place where you could sit for hours and just feel comfortable. And the drinks and food were always made with so much care you could really tell they put love into everything they did honestly it was the best coffee and matcha I ever had because I was so sick of other matchas tasting like water and coffee not tasting like coffee Over time, I ended up becoming a regular, and it meant so much to walk in and be greeted with a smile every single time. That kind of kindness is rare, and it's something I'll truly miss. It's so sad to see them close down, but I'm really grateful I got to experience such a special place while it was here. a friend had posted about this spot opening up and it is very close to me so I decided to give it a try! I was very excited since I love a good matcha and there isn't a place that is super close to me that does it well (that ik of). I went to get some work done and inside is very spacious! I was surprised by how bright and modern the inside looked since you can't really see much from outside. they also had available outlets by the tables, which I really appreciated and makes this spot a great wfh location! I ordered the matcha banana ($8) and the matcha was actually very good! I wasn't a huge fan of the banana chunks as they felt unripe and were too big to go through the straw so it got stuck a lot. I like the concept of the drink, but I don't think it was executed too well. there is a $3 price diff between this one and the reg matcha latte which is quite steep esp for unripe banana pieces, but it was worth a try. overall, I loved the atmosphere of this place - spacious and quiet - for a great study/work location. there was only one person working when I came and she was very nice and efficient! I will def be back, but I think I would j order the matcha latte! glad to have another cafe opening up in the area! read more

They were both very good but I'd probably ask if there was a way to not make it too sweet, maybe more coffee? We also got a few of their pastries, but honestly, not a fan of those. Unfortunately, when I came by, I saw a city closure notice posted on the door for operating without a license. At the same time, there's still a huge 'NOW OPEN' banner hanging outside, which feels misleading. It would be more professional to take the sign down until the issue is resolved. I was not big on coffee, latte,tea, and or matcha but shams cafe has changed that experience for me and opened up to know flavors. Decided to make the drive with a friend to try for the first time today. I was most excited about their sand coffee because i'm tired of making it all the way to Yala in studio city for the same thing. However, upon walking to the entryway, we were greeted with a locked door and a sign that said temp closed for operating without valid food license. Not sure what to think of this...my question is, why prematurely open to the public if not properly certified? hopefully this changes soon....id love to give it a try. read more
