Unfortunately, the bathroom remodeling was done very shoddily. It took 6 years to surface and will end up costing me $20k+. The waterproofing membrane and rubber lining were never installed. Just a bare minimum waterproofing sheet which gave away. We have black mold infestation due to the poor work or shortcuts employed. This will require demo, mold treatment, rebuild the whole shower area with an estimate of $20k-$30k. The plumbing under the sink also had lots of issues. Overall, I now regret going with Modern Creations because of bad plumbing and bathroom remodeling. Kitchen (minus 5he plumbing) is still doing fine. read more

Miles and crew just finished a remodel for us -- three bathrooms, entire kitchen (including raising the ceiling, creating an arched doorway, and doing a bunch of electric work), flooring for the entire downstairs, paint for about 75% of the house, new lighting, and security cameras. Everything turned out beautifully; we couldn't be happier with the results. It's not easy to have people working in your house for weeks at a time while you are living there, but if you need someone, you'd want someone like him. Here's why: * Workmanship -- All the work in our house was executed with excellence. Miles is precise and detailed, handling the most complex and intricate work for himself rather than handing it off to his crew. He sent us a text one day saying that he wasn't happy about a minor height variation for one tile in our bathroom (which we hadn't even noticed), so he popped that tile and re-installed it. He has a good eye for what will look good and what will not. In fact, I'm really glad we took his suggestions in a number of cases because what we had in mind would not have been as nice at all! He's also a smart and creative problem-solver. We wanted to raise the ceiling of our kitchen, but neighbors with the same floorplan hadn't been able to do so because of how tricky it was with electric and other stuff. Miles figured it all out, and the higher ceiling makes such a difference in the space! * Integrity -- He is up-front about the cost of the project; there were no hidden costs. I was worried about having too much weight hanging from the cabinets. So Miles added extra support and installed it without any issues. All my appliances work well! Drywall/Texturing/Paint: The original wood paneling was removed from my dining room wall and the ceiling was reworked. Miles replace patches of drywall and texture/paint the dining room and kitchen. The texturing is perfect and blends well with the rest of the house. Recessed Lights Installation: My house is old with no ceiling lights in the living room and a dingy light fixture in the dining room. The original kitchen light was not bright enough. It was a great experience to work with Miles! After buying a home recently, we shortlisted a couple of contractors based on their Yelp reviews and got quotes from them. I'm so happy that I found a contractor that I can trust. He was very helpful, and straightforward with everything. His quote for adding an attic in our garage was lower than the other 2 we got. He did the work quickly, was really respectful of our home, like taking his shoes off in the house if they were dirty, and he actually answered the phone when you called. You can't imagine how many contractors we've had that don't show up, don't pick up the phone, and then randomly show up to finish the job without even saying why they were a no-show. Miles was one of the three contractors that we approached for building a wall and entire interior painting of our newly bought house. He was super quick, very knowledgable and was able to finish both of the work in timely manner. The wall was built within a day, textured and ready for painting the next day. The painting job involved removing a lot of wall papers and in couple of places we were told by the other contractors as too difficult. But, the other contractors failed to mention the problem to Miles it seems, because he not only painted the rooms but also removed the "too difficult to remove" wallpaper with aplomb.
