She was highly recommended from an acquaintence. The theme was "2 sweet" I had sent her 2 photos for inspiration for an idea of what I wanted. I felt like I was an easy customer. I picked up the cake and I remember her finger nails looked dirty but I just thought it was from the cakes. At my initial first look of the cake, I liked it. I left it out in the shade, it was an outside party. When I looked at the cake, my daughter's name looked like it was slapped on by a child and the top fondant swirl on top was uneven. No big deal... When I finally cut into the cake, it was very hard and seemed very dry right away. Not a typical moist cake. I honestly had no desire to even taste it and felt bad distributing it out. I had asked a few people how they liked it and they even said it was dry but the icing and everything else was good. I think they tried to be nice. I messaged SJ telling her I was not happy with it and even my guests felt the same. She was speechless and her feelings were hurt that I didn't like the cake. When she asked what she can do, I told her I wanted 50% off. Since most of it went in the garbage too. She eventually became very defensive and blamed me and saying something about the butter and how it didn't melt in the shade or how I should've left it out longer..? Which I never heard of and also saying she uses fresh ingredients and all her cakes are fresh and she puts in a lot of time into each of her cakes. I do believe her so I don't understand why I felt my cake was so hard and dry. Her husband even messaged me too. I even showed her screen shots of what my guests said and how they agreed that the cake was very dry. She didn't like that I sent her what my guests said. Eventually I got my $100, this was 2 years ago so I will never order from here again.

Everything we ate was delicious, the cinnamon bun was one of the best I've ever had and the crumb cake was out of this world. You could taste just how fresh baked everything was. We have picked up multiple cakes for birthday and anniversary events from this bakery. The smell of bread and sugar can be smelled walking towards the store. There is always a line of people here waiting to get their goodies. My chocoholic little one who loves to try out chocolate lava cake from different restaurants and bakeries, thinks that this place has the best one! Very moist and indulgent! I have not seen very many bakeries that make the "Brown Derby" cake. It is chocolatey, yet light and refreshing with the fruit. They have a deli counter, but we have yet to try any of the items there, as we always walk out of there with many cookies and other treats. But, we will one day.

All of them were delicious! Think the biscotti was the best I ever had! I figured this would be a great place to order a Thanksgiving dessert. Last Sunday, I stopped back in. Sunima was absolutely wonderful answering all my questions about the different pies and cakes. I ended up ordering 8 inch fruit tart. (Please see attached photo). It was $52 plus tax. Totally worth the money. On 11/26, I stopped back in to pick up my order. The fruit tart was already. Thank you Mattarello's! The fruit tart was the hit of all Thanksgiving desserts.
