We stopped by Bloom Bakery in Caldwell and absolutely loved it. We bought a nut cookie with caramel filling (very nostalgic and so delicious), a pistachio éclair, and a lemon meringue tart to take with us. Everything was great, but the tart was my favorite , perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. While we were ordering our sweets to go, I also got a Turkish coffee to enjoy inside. It was first served in a small paper cup, probably a simple misunderstanding, and I sounded a bit disappointed. The owner immediately made a fresh one and brought it in a proper cup. It was excellent, rich, strong, and full of flavor. Great pastries, great coffee, and truly caring service. Highly recommend this place! read more

I waited until the last minute to buy my son and MIL's birthday cakes. I called Bloom Cakes and Bakery and the gentleman was so patient and explained all of the options. We stopped by a few minutes later and the bakery is beautiful. The owner took the time to explain the cakes and showed us photos of the insides. We ordered a Napoleon and Strawberry Cake (with farmer's cheese) for next day pick up. GO IMMEDIATELY! I came here with my husband to get a creampuff after reading about this place in an article the other day and SO happy I did. The female (I assume owner?) was SO kind and let me try these caramel filled nut shaped cookies that were divine, so I picked up a dozen of those and a cream puff. The creampuff is probably the best I've had in years, the texture of the outside was perfect and the custard was not overly sweet, complemented perfectly with the chocolate topping, I can't wait to go back and try the other offerings, everything looked amazing. Omg amazing! We loved everything we bought. We got cream puffs which are phenomenal, eclairs that were a big hit, a raspberry tart, macaroons and some kind of amazing hazelnut dessert I forget the name of. We walked in to get a taste of their cream puffs and ended up leaving with a variety of pastries + an order of 24 cake pops for our sons birthday. This place is amazing!! The mousses are LOVELY. Creamy, rich and velvety but without the cloying sweetness of so many American desserts. Their eclairs are similarly delicious, and again, the chocolate is really dark and intense. The cake pops are fun and delicious too. And don't get me started on the cream puffs which are SINFUL. My only quibble is that the macarons are too big and crumbly. They just don't have the right chewy texture. Frustrating. But otherwise a lovely addition for locals who don't feel like driving far away to get their sweet fix. read more

Nice local bakery that has some unique items. Tried several items now and they're all good. Chocolate and pistachio covered balls, cream puffs, macarons, something that looks like large sweet nuts, eclairs are just some of the items that I've tried (not sure what some of the actual things are). They're not overly sweet which is something I like. I hope this local bakery thrives, it is easy to miss but definitely worth checking out. Prices for the pastries are on par what you will find at other bakeries. I have not tried the cakes yet. read more

I have never been to this bakery in person but my boyfriend works in the area and stops by to pick me up some sweets and I have to say they are the best Pastries I have had. I love sweets but not super sugary ones and so far everything I've ate from here is not overwhelmingly sweet it's is the perfect touch of sweetness.I have had the cream puffs a couple of times and today I tried the raspberry chocolate covered mouse and brownie sandwich which were both amazing! Adorable little Turkish bakery on the Avenue. The gentleman at the counter was so friendly & described the baked goods to us & even gave my son & I a free walnut shaped cookie to try which was delicious with caramel inside. We purchased eclairs, macarons, mousse cake & a the largest cream puff I've ever seen. All were delicious, but the custard cream in the puff was outstanding! Can't wait to stop by again. Decided at the last minute on a Sunday afternoon to try a cake from Bloom for my daughter's impromptu birthday celebration. The only cake left was a pricey Napoleon cake, which, ordinarily, would not have been my first choice, so I almost turned around and left. I am so glad that I purchased that cake, which was packed with great care by the shop's helpful employee. I went to Bloom Cakes and Bakery on a Saturday to pick up macarrons for an event I was hosting and after getting rave reviews on my choices went back the next day to get something for myself. As I love chocolate I tasted the cake pops, chocolate eclair and brownie sandwich. All were outstanding. They were obviously baked with care, were very fresh, delicious and tasty and looked beautiful. Next I'm going back for the deep chocolate cake with candy bars in the frosting. We tried an assortment of their delights and were extremely pleased. The baked items are created by a Ukrainian baker who is obviously very skilled. The mousse cake slices come in three flavors---including raspberry and mango---and were heavenly. This is a great addition to the Caldwells and no doubt we will be regulars.
