We came in with a big party for a family dinner, and chose this place. It was already pretty busy when we came, but we were lucky enough to find a table inside that took up the entire back wall. We started with the avocado egg rolls that were reminiscent of a certain cake factory. I really enjoyed them--the tamarind sauce made it all the better. The caesar salad was really good, as was the lemon soup. The almond chicken with rice was delicious as well. I tasted a bite of my daughters mac and cheese with chicken and it was good as well. My only complaint here is that they took a really long time to bring it out, and we pretty much had to get a to go boxes immediately as soon as they brought it out. I understand we are a big party, but some people got their food and some people had to wait a really long time, not just few minutes. So it gets kind of awkward when some people are eating and some don't even have their food. I've been coming to this place since it opened, so I'm surprised I haven't reviewed them yet. I mostly visit for lunch during the work week, so keep that in mind as you read on. Service is always so friendly and prompt. I'm never standing around for too long before I'm greeted 'n seated. They have some tall tables and booths throughout. It's a decent spot for small groups but I wouldn't try to come here with more than six people. I fell in love with their almond chicken lunch entree on my first visit and I've stuck with it. Why mess with perfection? I sub out the rice for their (excellent) mashed potatoes and usually request it without garnish because I don't like cabbage. I always ask for an extra side of the cream sauce (it's like alfredo but better.) My order is always correct and food is usually served quick (sometimes too quick!) I enjoy their chicken lemon rice soup, although it's very skimpy on chicken and it's much thinner than most coneys serve theirs. Prices are high for dinner but lunch is decent. Their lunches tend to be under $14, which is fairly standard these days. I ordered lamb chops for dinner once and it was like $45? The portion was great but it was tough looking at that price tag to make my initial selection. Overall, friendly and accurate service, excellent food, great portions. The food was all cold once it reached us to our home. The lamb chops were cooked as requested which was great. However they were cold! Some restaurants will use aluminum foil and better packaging to get the food to be atleast warm upon delivery. But again this wasn't the case. The portions given to us were great. Def worth the prices for the quantity. The Mac n cheese was way too bland in my opinion. The crab appetizer was good. The mushroom Asiago soup was not that great in my opinion. The fettuccini was okay again nothing that wowed me. The spicy feta bread was okay. The mashed potatoes were great. I finally got a chance to try this spot every time I try it's always very very crowded with a long wait. But now since I've tried it I understand why the wait is so long the food is very very good. They have a large menu to choose from so it takes a while to make up your mind. I waitress was very helpful in recommendations and the air is okay. But that was one of the cheaper dishes so I believe it was a sirloin steak something that was a cheap cut. So when I sent it back to reorder another dish by the time that dish came my guess was already finished eating and I had picked off her so I really didn't get a chance to eat that dish there. Wow! Absolutely delicious! We are here in Michgan for a visit and stopped here for dinner after all the great reviews. I am glad we did. We are still talking about the tuna appetizer. Our picture has almost the whole appetizer gone because we inhaled it like we had nothing to eat in the last five days. It got better with every bite. The sweet chili sauce, with the crispy wontons, avocado, and savory tuna was the perfect combination. It is an appetizer, but I would of had the whole thing for my meal. The lemon salmon and falafel for our entrees were exceptional. I don't hand out five stars for nothing. A restaurant has to earn it and be worth it. Five stars here. Bravo! My only complaint is that the restaurant is very small to accommodate all of the customers and there is not a lobby to wait for your table. Stopped in at lunchtime for a gyro sandwich and was not disappointed. I'm used to all the coney island restaurants in Southeast Michigan passing off frozen bagged gyro meat in a sandwich - this tasted crispy and fresh, and had more spices than most of those other sad offerings. They REALLY went heavy on the tzaziki sauce - not a problem as I just scraped some of it off so I could get more of the flavor from the veggies and meat. Due to not wanting to wait 2+ hours for a popular brunch spot down the road, my husband searched Yelp for brunch and we popped into Modern Greek this past Sunday to finally give it a try. The food was decent but the flavors and the presentation imbued a vague feeling of 90's cutting edge cuisine with french-like sauce work and center-of-the-plate food stacking from the time of molten lava cakes and sundried tomato everything... The coffee was very weak and the menu prices warned us of potential sticker shock that was only confirmed after our plates arrived with the finished product. We got breakfast skillets. My eggs were a bit overly sunny-side with slightly runny whites (not ideal) and my request for no mushrooms was miscommunicated (and quickly fixed). While everything tasted good, and nothing was awful, it was really just a hint above corner diner quality for corner bistro prices and we don't think we'll be back for brunch anytime soon. Our server was pleasant though not as attentive as I'd prefer and we had to ask for napkins. I observed other tables with a less effective server and was grateful we had only minor irritations with ours. Also, those who prefer indoor dining will be faced with a cramped and loud space that will likely require a walk through the kitchen service area which feels kinda... icky? to me. We do plan to try dinner service to give them a fair shake, but will likely choose a nice warm evening and dine outside to enjoy people watching in the bustling courtyard while we try one of the more popular dishes.
