We came here yesterday for a late lunch and were able to walk up to the counter and order immediately, which was nice. Alex was taking care of us and did a fine job. For food, my fiancé and I both liked her chicken basil sandwich the best. It was solid. My lox salmon was healthy and full of fresh food, and the pizza was warm as well. Prices were reasonable too, with a clean store.

I order from Modern regularly for my executives and they all love it! My favorite has been the summer seared ahi salad - so good(!), but we frequently order the lemongrass tuna salad and the smoky chicken bowl, both crowd favorites.

My mom and I stopped in on a whim. We were not disappointed! I ordered the Buddha Bowl, which needed a little more sauce as it was a bit dry no matter how much I mixed it. I got the cucumber mint lemonade, and I am obsessed! So good! My mom got the Smoky Chicken Bowl. It had a nasty smell, but mom loved every bite. I tried one of her tomatoes and, wow; so good! She loved the hibiscus lemonade. These four items cost us over $40! So if you're on a budget, steer clear!

Service was courteous and quick. Tables were slightly tacky - maybe the reaction of cleaning agents with the finish on the tables? Menu has changed since I last went there. Plates are gone and it's salads or bowls -make your own or choose a signature one. We had a salad with tofu and sesame dressing. Also had the braised beef bowl with rice, sweet potatoes and kale Caesar. Not gonna lie - pretty happy with the food for a counter service place. And it was fairly healthy as well.

I like the food! Typically tastes well, I get it for lunch break. A bit expensive for the portions, the tomato soup is $8 and gives maybe one scoop worth.

They have vegan options! I saw a raving review on Happy Cow about the Buddha Bowl, so I decided to give it a try. I was NOT disappointed. Very outstanding customer service by Felipe. Thank you Felipe! Super delicious bowl! I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

Great salad made fresh to order. Friendly staff- brought our dishes quickly. Lots of clean indoor seating. Got the half summer salad added chicken- plenty filling and a good value- salad was $7.95. My friend enjoyed the pick a protein plus 2 sides.

(Finished) lemongrass tuna bowl - yum!

Reasons for five star: 1. Employee gave a thorough overview of menu while being attentive to what we were looking for today. They happily accommodated the allergies of my friend (which she has trouble with at other places) and they did two swaps for her. 2. Food was good and presented as expected. I had the Tuna Lemongrass Bowl and friend had Blackened Chicken Mango. We would both recommend these. 3. Employees came by twice to check on our table that we were doing well. Reese especially was awesome and consistently checking on us! For what it is - fast casual healthy - great experience!

Their burger is easily one of the best I've had in Austin, especially paired with their thin, crispy fries. It's my go-to order almost every time. One thing I love is that they switch up the steak portion of the menu a few times a year, and it never disappoints. Right now they have the steak au poivre, which is incredible, although I'm still craving their steak frites and hoping it makes a comeback. The escargot and French onion soup are also favorites of mine. At this point, June's has become a staple in our house--usually with a couple of Diet Cokes and either the burger or whatever steak they're featuring. A few of my friends swear by the chicken sandwich (fair warning: it can get a little messy!), the half roasted chicken, and the tuna crudo, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. On top of the amazing food, the staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming, which keeps us coming back. I definitely recommend making a reservation since it tends to get pretty busy, especially during peak hours.

My biggest issue started before I even got seated. There is a QR code that you're required to use to join the waitlist/queue, but this is not clearly communicated on their website. You essentially have to arrive at the restaurant and figure it out once you're there. For a restaurant that is known for having long waits and high traffic, I feel like this information should be clearly stated online so people can plan accordingly. Once I joined the queue, I was number 43 and ended up waiting about an hour and a half before being seated. I understand that popular restaurants can have long wait times, but the lack of transparency about how the process works made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Once inside, the ambiance was actually quite quaint and charming. That said, considering how much traffic this restaurant gets, I was surprised by how limited the space is. I honestly think expanding the property would make a huge difference, although I understand that may not be entirely within their control. One thing I will give them major credit for is the menu. Online, the selection makes it look somewhat limited, but once you're there, they actually have 50+ food options, so there is plenty to choose from. That was definitely a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, my entrée was disappointing. I ordered a shredded beef taco with salsa and substituted a side salad. The beef was extremely tender, but unfortunately, it was also very dry. The salad was another disappointment because the vinaigrette was honestly not good. I don't think I've ever had a vinaigrette that I actively disliked until this meal. Thankfully, my fiancé had a much better experience. He ordered an enchilada and said it was one of the top five enchiladas he's ever had, so clearly there are some standout dishes on the menu. That definitely made me curious about trying something different if I ever return. I also really enjoyed that they offer hibiscus tea. I was very happy to see it on the menu, although I personally think it would be better served on its own rather than incorporated into one of their mixed drinks. The drink itself was just okay, but the hibiscus flavor was great. Overall, I can see why this place has become an Austin staple, but I think the experience could be improved significantly by making the waitlist process much clearer online and by improving the consistency of some of the food. The menu has a lot of potential, and clearly, some dishes are excellent! Unfortunately, mine just wasn't one of them.

The Lox n' found croiffin comes with a toasted croissant roll, smoked salmon, ricotta, avocado, arugula, capers, pickled onions and dill. I added an egg for an additional charge of $2. It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The menu says it also comes with a side of roasted potatoes, but mine didn't come with that. The sandwich was delicious and filling, so I definitely didn't need them, but I do feel like I didn't get what I paid for.
