I am at home right now. I live in Bastrop, I want a Turkey on whole wheat loaded right now. Maybe tomorrow I'll drive in to Austin and get me one. Been a loyal customer since 1974 and love their subs. They are always consistent and excellent. Subway can't hold a candle. They are disgusting out here. Please put a T-Cloud out here. One of my favorite local sandwich shops in Austin- they never disappoint. I always order the Office Favorite and it is consistently good! Many options of fresh items to add to your sandwich outside of the norm (ex: bean sprouts, sweet pickles, etc.). The staff are always friendly and provide quick, accurate service. There's usually cool music playing in the background and they sell art by local artists as well. Totally worth stopping in for a quick bite! read more

If you need help building up your immune system this is your spot. The workers wear gloves and touch everything in sight transferring all kinds of gems everywhere. The server went to making the sandwich, to touching two fridges, back to my sandwich and straight to the iPad. It's dirty everywhere else inside. This place is a health hazard. read more

Awful customer service. Every time I order from here it is wrong and the employees could care less. I've had missing items in the order and it's always an issue when it comes to the drinks. They have drinks listed online that they don't actually have in store. Also, major rudeness from the employees... they are not patient and make you feel like an a-hole for correcting them when they did your order wrong. Awful service even more awful customer service. Do not support this location but good food. I'd be willing to drive the extra length to get a sub bc they are super good. I just will NOT be going back to the s Lamar location until their staff changes or they get better customer service! read more

This location has turned into my favorite Thundercloud store, primarily because it's relatively close to my hangouts and the staff here do an awesome job in making a great sandwich and whatever your heart desires. I'm an extra-lettuce-n-onions-n-pepper guy, and they never fail to satisfy me here. The counters are slightly lower here so I can see them assembling their work of art. Never had a bad order here, and if someone does a really exceptional job I'll usually double my order and save one for the next day which keeps well in the fridge. They're generally really friendly and like to engage with the customer, and once in a while you'll get a good suggestion or two. Like on one recent visit Jen was making my Egg Salad sandwich (one of my faves). She goes on to explain how she loves egg salad too, but adds Nada Chicken to it to kick it up a notch. Hmmm, she got my wheels turnin', and I thought about it...... I do love their Nada Chicken (vegetarian) but haven't had a while.....OK! Jen's convinced me. let's do it. She was like "that's so cool - - trust me you'll love it" and sure enough, it was DA BOMB!! I went back 3x that week and ordered Jen's EggNada sandwich - - awww yeah it was off the hook! You can't beat their weekly specials, there are several sandwiches here that are awesome such as: NY Italian, Office Favorite, Nada Chicken, Pastrami, and Meatball just to name a few. Their bread is always fresh and I can't get enough of that Thundersauce! But trust me on that Jen's EggNada - - extra meat and protein is always a good thing. read more

Local sandwich shop complete with sandwich wizards that fit the South Austin vibe. Love the egg salad and the new turkish delight (turkey with all sorts of veggies, avocado spread and hummus or cream cheese). Nada chicken is great for the vegetarians. I like grabbing a sandwich here and then a soup from the Soup Peddler next door. Not exactly a cheap meal that way but - hey - soup and sandwich is always a good combo. read more

Here is how you do Thundercloud right .... 1. Approach the counter and advise the friendly sandwich artist that you would like the Austin Club. 2. Decide if you want the regular or large size sandwich - regular is big enough but if you are feeling really hungry go with the large (you can always save the rest for later) 3. Decide if you want provolone or American cheese - i go with provolone 4. Decide if you want it on white or wheat - i go with wheat 5. Then say yes to all the rest of the questions they ask 6. You will end up with the Austin Club all the way ... it's the bomb! Seriously - make it easy on yourself and follow my instructions. You will end up with a sandwich that if full of flavor and you will be back for more! read more

T-Cloud rules barren earth. Believe it. New York Italian is my favorite. This location can get busy at lunch, but I think it's pretty convenient and they typically have quite a few stations so the line can move. Might be faster than the one further up Lamar by the Alamo Drafthouse. read more

I went in close to 6pm on a Sunday evening. There was only one employee who was actually making sandwiches. Three people in one party were ordering ahead of me and two people waiting behind me. I stood there for about ten minutes before I finally gave up and went to Subway. It wasn't like the guys were ordering twenty sandwiches. So unbelievably slow, but that's nothing new for Thundercloud. On my way back from Subway, I noticed that the person behind me was just ordering. Worst/slowest service ever. I won't waste my time again. Oh, when I mentioned the poor service to the Subway employee, her response was, "Oh, we get a lot of their customers and they all have the same complaint." Save yourself some time and go anywhere else. read more

Ordered a Turkish Delight, with a few extras on it. The sub was VERY good. All ingredients were fresh. Having the option of hummus or cream cheese on my sandwich was a pleasant surprise attend delicious (I chose cream cheese by the way). Definitely will order again, and I tell anyone to try it. Multiple employees made racist remarks toward me and my family. I found a hair in my food and when I notified the establishment they laughed in my face. DO NOT EAT HERE!! Terrible people. I'm a huge fan of sandwiches. If I had to break down my single favorite food item, it'd undoubtedly be a sandwich. Pizza... newp. Sushi... no way. Bread and meat... hook me up! Thundercloud Subs definitely doesn't disappoint. I was in the mood for a 6 incher (keep your mind out of the gutter), so I ripped in there at about 1:00 pm on a Friday. I wouldn't recommend hitting this place from the southbound side of the street, because it's a pain in the ass trying to cross South Lamar. There was SO much traffic, I must have had my turn signal on for 5 full minutes. Once I finally did get a chance to turn left, everything was fine... but there were some near misses from oncoming cars that freaked me out a bit. One of the most notable things was their bread. It was fresh, soft and delish! I believe I used the squaw bread as the borders to contain my veggie delight (hummus, cream cheese, avocado, sprouts, cucumbers and more), and it ruled. Next time I'm in the hood, I wanna try the "Nada Chicken." It's a chickenless meat patty, and apparently, it's one of the best features on the menu. read more

Really solid, local sub shop. Big fan of the chicken salad here. And I love their super cheap sandwich specials. That being said, I almost knocked one star off for having the world's most annoying radio jingles. Every time I hear one, I want to drive my car into large objects like walls, oncoming traffic, the closest Thundercloud store, just to put me out of my misery. I have also turned off the radio, but it seems a very anticlimactic ending to the amount of violent hate those commercials engender in me. Great sandwich + worst ad campaign ever = conflicted feelings...but the stomach always wins! read more

This Thundercloud got all fancy. Well, fancy for a Thundercloud. The last time I was in here, it was about 2/3s the size. Now, they have expanded a little, and it feels a lot more light, open and clean. They are well staffed and seem to have a system down for keeping the line moving during the busy lunch rush. The service was friendly, quick and my sandwich was tasty. What else is there to say? It's a Thundercloud, and I love me some Thundersauce! read more

Thundercloud is extremely refreshing, healthy, and tasty. I hate how each individual ingredient is an extra $.25 while most sandwich shops (like Subway) will add these ingredients for free. However, the SPROUTS at Thundercloud make the sandwich absolutely amazing. Last time, I got a turkey sandwich with tomato, provolone, sprouts, and spicy mustard. I would have loved some cucumber, but alas...I did not want to pay extra. It was the perfect sandwich on a hot day after a walk around town lake! read more

Why would I ever go to Subway? I won't. Same order every time. Two large specials on wheat with everything but tomatoes. This takes care of my lunch and dinner. I like some more than others, but this takes thinkng out of the equation and so far my routine has worked. Everything is fresh and the sprouts make the sandwich for me. Not something I ever buy in stores, but I get my fair share of them via TCloud. I like this location as opposed to others due to the employees. Their dialog doesn't seemed forced and they seem to actually care about what I say and how I answer their greeting questions. I also like the fact that these cats are as stoned as I am every time I go in. It leads to a free drink or chips on occasion. Sign up for their twitter and you will know the specials of the week. I cant believe no-one has written a review for this Thundercloud. By far the most awesome. I wish I knew the 2 girls names. Darn. O.k The redhead with the cute Bettie Page bangs and the tall blonde sweetie. You know who you are. I love when either of these lovely ladies makes my sandwich the sinfully delicious office favorite. I don't like to dog [arff-arff] on other places because I know what its like to be on the other end of the stick, but the other Thundercloud [by Alamo Drafthouse] sucks in my opinion. Funny that it pains me to say that, well with this being a reviews website. O.K back to the good stuff. Ladies, you rock. Always friendly, always jammin to some great tunes. I would crave these sandwiches when I didn't live in Texas. The S. Lamar location with it's small outdoor area, walk up service and drive-through has always been a favorite to me. I have noticed that the quality of my sandwich is always a little less than the way I like it though. I guess it lacks a bit of that extra special service where you can see them making the sandwich and ask for more/less of this or that. Nada Chicken with pickles and spicy mustard most the time. or Smoked Chicken with provolone if I'm feeling meaty. read more

You can taste the exquisite quality of the ingredients, from the crust to the toppings. We ordered the Italian sausage and pepper pizza. For a person who does not eat a lot of pizza, this pizza was delicious. The Baldinucci vibe was uniquely European...families sitting outside enjoy pizza and all the trimmings along with friends, colleagues and family members also dining inside. There was a constant stream of customers picking up "to-go" orders as well. While in route, we got a bit lost circling the Randall parking lot twice. Once we reached staff, they were so helpful to point out a major landmark, which helped navigate us to the building. Excellent dining experience...

If it was warmer, even dining outside looks wonderful. We were greeted with 2 super friendly and welcoming staff members. We had wonderful high top seating. It was a quiet yet lively room full of customers. We were graced with one of the kindest waiter named Sage! What an asset to Marye's! Made our table feel so comfortable and welcomed. He gave excellent suggestions on wines and food. He was so knowledgeable about everything which made our dining out a wonderful time! The Greek Pizza was completely full of toppings! So very tasty and a perfectly cooked crust! The lasagna was definitely fresh and home made! The amount of sauce and cheese was perfection. I cannot wait to bring more friends here and will definitely ask for Sage to assist us!
