My place of employment often uses Jason's Deli for large and small gatherings. The boxed lunches are an easy and tasty route for us. We use vatious locations but this one most often. Which is odd I have never reviewed because I'm here at least once a month. Anyway, I love doing the boxes because we're able to provide variety for different folks who may have allergies to certain foods. Our orders are always accurate and fresh. I LOVE JASON'S!!!! My two big problems: 1. They take the Caprese sandwich (and mozzarella cheese) off the menu for half the year 2. The website and app are SO GLITCHY. It has been years now that it has been impossible to pay with a gift card online (and they removed the ability to order online and pay in store). This is a national chain... no way they can't get someone to figure this out The food is delicious and reasonably priced. There is free soft-serve ice cream (and chocolate sauce and cones) for everyone. This location's water tastes normal/good, unlike many Austin restaurants'. The managers have been really helpful when there are issues with the site (like not getting the offers I should have gotten). The Caprese is, of course, my favorite. Indoor decor feels like a more recent/old-school mix diner, but convenient location next to HEB. Smokey Jack Panini, $11.59 (7/10) - Smoked turkey, bacon, pepper jack, tomato, guacamole, 1000 Island, sourdough + side of chips - Pretty good panini! They give plenty of meat, the bread is nice and crunchy while warm, and it's easy to bite through - Portion size is decent for lunch at a reasonable price, and definitely fills you up. Would have liked the side of chips to be a little larger, though - Also wished that the sandwich was a little more evenly made. I felt that half the sandwich was turkey, and the other half was everything else squished together. We stopped at Jason's on the way back to the hotel after a soccer game. All 17 of our boys were able to choose what they wanted to eat. The selection was awesome and it was so nice to be able to have them pay individually. My son ordered the Chicken Alfredo and I ordered the Cobb Salad. He said it was really good and ate every bite. The cashier was trying to rush us and had no desire to be helpful nor pleasant. Perhaps he thinks all customers are regulars who know the menu as well as he does. First time here. Service was amazing. The front counter lady was patient and friendly as I was trying to read the menu and decide. I used to go to these in Atlanta after church regularly and have been pleasantly surprised to find them in Florida and Texas too. The food is your typical diner food. I ordered half a tuna melt and a chicken pot pie soup which came with chips. The soup was steaming hot, but the sandwich wasn't hot even though it was supposed to be a tuna melt. However, it was so yummy regardless I just ate it because waiting for a replacement would take too long. I find this place is consistent in what they serve and the free ice cream cone at the end is a refreshing treat. If you like good American food that is filling, then come by. The bread was super fresh and the meat was perfectly sliced very thin, with just the right amount of pinkness and very flavorful. I'd give it 5 stars except the au jus served for dipping was overly salty for my taste. I'm a regular patron of this Jason's location, but I can't give it more than 3 stars. The salad bar was always fresh, pre-COVID, sandwiches, soups, and potatoes were fresh as well. My to-go orders were always made to specification as well. During COVID, to go orders are still accurate. So, why only 3 stars? Nothing makes this location stand out from any other location. This salad bar is the same as the one on the other side of town. Getting orders right is what they should be doing. My experiences there have simply been middle of the road. Popped in for lunch,I was the only customer, employees were still stocking and setting up (it was about 10:15, they just opened). I haven't had a muffaletta since I was in NOLA 8 years ago. Asked them if they could sub the meat for veggies (vegetarian!). They allowed it. Got it to-go and man, was it delicious! Big sandwich. My demerit is based on things being a little dirty, despite that the establishment had just opened. The store was clean and the staff was friendly. I appreciated that the AYE salad bar was kept clean and well-stocked the entire time we were there. It was a little confusing when it came time to get a clean plate and when it came time to put our dirty plates and trays away. I come here at least once every six weeks as it is close to the place I take my 80 year old father to get a haircut. We go get the haircut then come here for lunch. The staff is very friendly. The food is good. The place is clean. The ice cream is free. I had an issue with their property falling on my car in the back and doing damage. They were a stand up organization. They paid for the repairs without too much hassle. I will no longer park in the back but I am very grateful that they paid for the repairs. I placed an order on doordash for pickup... let's just say I was so terribly dissatisfied with these folks that I will likely never spend my money at any of their locations. The order was nowhere near ready after I was notified of its "ready to be picked up" status (I even gave them a ten min. cushion). When I got there the gal behind the counter seemed confused at my request to pick up. She said it'd be ready in a few minutes. So I waited. Ten more min. went by, two customers that arrived after me got their orders right away. The next day, 15 minutes before I was supposed to pick it up, I learned that two folks we were bringing the sandwiches to were not able to eat deli meat. I called Jason's Deli and they said even though the platter was already prepared, they would accommodate me and add some other options to the platter. I fully expected them to be annoyed and charge me more. Or at least give me some bureaucratic answer about why it wasn't possible. They didn't and didn't even charge me more. I recently went to New Orleans and experienced a fantastic muffuletta sandwich, and a friend of mine told me that Jasons deli has pretty good muffuletta, so I wanted to give it a try today.
