Was expecting small portions and high prices, pleasantly I was wrong. Meeting a co-worker for lunch halfway means a place near the arboretum. I always choose and they are all high priced for lunch. Upon walking in, we headed left to the ordering area, but stopped at the menu on the wall. I noticed the place was crowded already. My companion went first and selected the Lemongrass Pork bowl. My turn and I pick a half Basil chicken sandwich and half arugula bleu cheese salad. The order taker explained I can pick half of one of the big salads. They all had a protein and many other ingredients and told her Just want the arugula cheese salad. Paid and got my number. We head to the drink area to get our water and some napkins. While there my friend spotted a empty table and ran for it. When I arrived with my water, she went back for hers. We had a little time to catch up before they brought her bowl. She insisted I try her pork. It was good. She said it reminded her of a Banh Mi sandwich without the bread. A couple more minutes and my feast arrives. I try the salad and it is dressed lightly, perfect. Then I bite into my sandwich, it is moist and oozes the basil aioli so messy. What do they say, the messier the sandwich the better the taste, so right. The chicken was moist and flavorful, Provolone cheese melted, enough red onions to not offend, I'm not a fan of tomatoes but this one fit perfectly. As for the basil aioli that dipped on the plate, my hands, the tables and on the sandwich, it was good everywhere. We both paid less than $10. for our lunch. The only downside are the metal chairs. Do not sit on them with bare legs, getting up your skin sticks to it. read more

I'll start this review off by answering the question most of you are probably asking. YES, they have beer, and yes, they have wine! It's a casual place that's good for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And let me be the first one to tell you, they are inclusive of everyone; they have gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian options - AND even options for the carnivores. Staff are friendly, the eating area is clean, and the quality/quantity is in line with the pricing. It's walkup counter ordering, and then they bring your food to your table. I had the Buddha Bowl ($8) and it was plenty of food - I wasn't even able to finish it all. It included healthy sized slabs of tofu that had a nice, slightly crispy taste around the edges of it, like it had been pan seared or roasted. Rice, cabbage, crushed peanuts, and a peanut mango sauce were all mixed in the bowl. If it weren't for the slight hint of mango and the cilantro sprinkled in, it would have tasted very similar to phad thai. The peanut sauce had just a *slight* spicy kick to it, but it's not one that makes you sweat. The only thing I had an issue with was, most of the broccoli in the bowl was cold. I should have said something about it, but I'm lazy like that, and I'm sure it was just a "one-off" occurrence. They have outdoor patio seating for those awesome Texas days when we should all be spending a bit of time outside. There are a couple of entrees on their website and even their window advertisements that weren't on the menu - and again, since I'm lazy, I didn't bother to ask... My fiancé and I were searching for a place to eat lunch after visiting TJ Maxx in the same shopping center. We were on our way to Fire Bowl but I stopped in my tracks at the most delicious looking photo of food in the window...so we changed our plans and opted to try this place. He ordered the blackened chicken mango bowl, I myself had a grilled chicken thigh with garlic mashed potatoes and fire roasted veggies, and my baby had the tomato and cheese kids meal with chips. While the food looked amazing (nearly identical to the picture), it definitely needed more seasoning and was extremely bland. This location is very understaffed so knocking off the stars isn't because of them. The food was great and I know the servers were doing their best. However, it was freezing inside and I kept my coat on the entire time. Not sure if heat was broken or they forgot to turn off AC for a 50 degree day? I did have to wait a little bit despite being about 5 minutes past the pickup time. They were extremely busy, so no big deal. Oh man, I can't imagine anyone not liking this place. Parking is plentiful. Maybe the negative I can try and fit in here is that their prices are pretty high for a restaurant not designed for wait service. You order at the counter then they drop the food off to you. I'm frustrated. I've been looking forward to trying this spot. Evidently if you order online you get a $5 reward. I went through the whole account setup, picked my items, and applied the coupon. (I literally sat in the parking lot to do it) Once I put in my credit card and purchased the items, conveniently the reward had been removed and I made a full purchase. I was excited to try modern market out as everything on the menu looks and sounds delicious! My boyfriend and I ordered curbside, and our meals were ready by the time I pulled up! (Yay!) Upon unboxing the food at home, I was super excited to try my Mediterranean bowl as it looked and smelled great, but that's kind of where the excitement stopped. The steak meat included in the dish was the incredibly rubbery and chewy, and the dill was very overpowering. For the almost $15 dollars, I'd probably recommend maybe substituting the steak meat for chicken, but I'm just sad the Mediterranean bowl wasn't as good as I'd thought it would be. The avocado toast that we ordered on the other hand though was very flavorful! I especially enjoyed the everything bagel seasoning that topped it off! That I would definitely recommend and come back for! I really really wanted to rate this place higher because I like the food, however, after the 3rd time getting my order wrong, I cannot rate them higher. The first time was the only time my order was right. I ordered the flatiron salad with some add ons. Tasted great! And I don't eat salads that often. The next few times, I ordered thru their online ordering system. In my mind, the order is in writing so it should be all clear. No this, add that, etc. It seems like when you add "extra" protein to your salad, they withhold the protein that originally goes with the salad. For example, for my flatiron salad, I added tofu and didn't mark NO beef. When i got my to-go salad, there was no dressing and no beef. The tofu was there. The next time, I ordered the flatiron salad again, there was less beef and the cut of the beef seemed off. The cook on the beef was inconsistent. This last time, I gave it another shot because the food does taste good. I ordered the farm salad which comes with chicken, I added a half order of steak and did not mark NO chicken. When I opened it, there was no chicken. Is there some confusion with when you add extra things, they assume you don't want what goes with the original item? I'm disappointed because there aren't that many salads that I like. I hope things will change in the future. read more

With my recent flatiron salad, the ratios of ingredients were really off -- not very much actual salad, and the salad present was overdressed and soggy. There was also an absurd amount of red onion....like, I removed a small plate's worth of it from the salad, and still had a lot remaining. The steak was cooked well, but I could also tell it was pre-cooked, rather to order. These factors together made it a pretty underwhelming salad for $14. I can honestly think of handful of other $14 salads I'd go for over the one I received. Maybe I'd have better luck with one of the plates in the future. read more

They even share all the nutrition facts and calories of your order on your receipt. This is your usual health food restaurant but with more options than just salads and wraps.
