I am very disappointed that I have to leave such a bad review being that I was very fond of Tony! Lately his work and attitude has been terrible! My experience today was VERY uncomfortable. He yelled at me after showing him the picture of what I wanted, which was a square shaped French manicure with designs. Usually I tell all of my friends, friends, family, and coworkers to go to modern nail and ask for Tony, but after today, I'm not referring anyone and if you are reading this, I don't recommend this place. My money spend anywhere and the way that I felt today while in there was totally uncomfortable. I don't want anyone to feel the way that I felt today. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Where are the zero stars?? Made $70 one time off me and $55 this last time. Both times were horrible experiences. Wasted my time and money. Lied to me about there broken fan. Just had me sitting at a table with a light on. No. Im not wasting my time going back for you to fix it. Too many times you mess up. Fool me twice shame on me! This was the second attempt at this nail salon. I went after admiring a coworker's nails and asking her where she got them done. When she told me I cringed but thought maybe this time around they have new employees and will do better. I am on day two and I have three chip nails. I asked if they did dip and was told yes. When it came to it they did an overlay, not a dip as I had requested. I told them I wanted a dip and they said it was the same thing. Clearly it was not as my nails chip 2 days. **UPDATE** After it was brought to his attention he reposted it claiming "he meant what he said"... So there was no apology and he didn't care that he posted the person... This girl called before she came bc she had a broken nail and the lady fixing it told her it was fine for her to come in... An employee at this location posted the attached photo of a customer on social media and called her names... Is this ever ok? If you hate your job this much why not just quit instead of posting a customer on social media and calling her a "stupid h**"... Turn people away if you don't want to serve them past a certain time instead of publicly humiliating them... read more

They team was very welcoming but the nail service was horrible. My nails had to be repolish bc I nicked an edge and the man did not properly repaint my nail leading to my nails looking like the below after only 2days! I did get only a simple polish but this is unacceptable. read more

So at first I was pleased with my service. My first two visits to the shop were good , no complaints. I will say though that even then I could definitely complain on their "nail painting skills".. nail paint looks like I wanna go home and repaint my own nails, or drive straight to another shop to repaint..But I gave them the benefit of the doubt because the shape was great and my pedicure was good as well. Now fast forward to my next few visits.. the lady who I assume must be the owner ( talk thin and Always On The Phone.. Even when she's doing your nails, she completely ignores you and talks on her headset the Entire Time..) she is progressively ruder and ruder each time. I feel like they believe that their customers will come back no matter what. Chalmette is small so it's not like there are tons of options and it seems to me that they play on that. I went in for the LAST time a few weeks ago. I arrived way early and didn't mind sitting out front in my car until they opened. Quickly, two other women arrived in their own cars and began also to wait. When the salon opened, we all walked in and immediately one of the ladies that had been outside waiting started to complain on how her nails had started to lift and break, she had just recently had a full set done. Everyone sat down and immediately I was ignored because I only wanted a full set while the other two ladies wanted a pedicure and a full set. Remember, I had been sitting out front since 9:30 am (on my own accord, yet still for a long time)... finally I was addressed and I couldn't even tell the lady what I wanted because she just started "working " on my nails and wouldn't get off the phone! I was trying to tell her that my two pointer fingers were slightly crooked. She ignored me and glued the nail on straight anyway which left my nail pointing to the right. I'm sitting there like...,My finger is crooked! I told you several times and you can clearly see but you decided to ignore my instructions on how to glue it on to make it uniform with the other nails. She refuses to get off of the phone. Also caught an attitude when I declined the gel polish which is ($15) more. Attention everyone who gets their nails done: GEL POLISH SHOULD NOT COST $15 MORE!! THAT IS A MASSIVE RIPOFF!!! IM FROM A BIG CITY.. LOS ANGELES... GEL IS AN EXTRA ($5) EVERYWHERE AND ANYWHERE YOU GO..EVEN IN BEVERLY HILLS!!! Stop ripping people off. You salon owner should be thankful that these communities embrace and accept your businesses. Instead you come to this country and decide to be deceitful and rude and ridiculing your customers right in front of them by talking badly about them in your own language.... Yes we can tell. And don't be surprised when someone talks back to you in Vietnamese. You unfortunately think that Americans are ignorant? So you believe that you can speak our language but we can't speak yours?? If your shop is boycotted then would that prove to you how Important it is to be courteous to Everyone and to LISTEN. Three women that I met in this salon during my last visit were actually looking for somewhere else to go get their nails done on their phones while they were getting serviced that day.... shame.
