I've maybe written 5 reviews on yelp in my life, probably less. I went here today with my 11 year old daughter. Daughter got a manicure and hair cut while I got a Relaxing Scalp Massage Package #1. We loved everything! My daughter wants to go back for her birthday to get a style and manicure. She said she looks like a movie star! I have taken her to many hair cut places and she hasn't liked any of them. I'm so happy to have found a place she loves. She also loves her manicure. This is only the second time she's ever had a manicure. My job is a physical one and I've gone to massage places before and didn't like them. I figured probably just not my thing. BUT today that all changed. I already told my husband to get me a gift card to Modern Salon and Spa for my birthday and Christmas. The massage was just the right amount of pressure. It was very clean inside, and the mood was very relaxing as there was dimmed lighting, spa music, and we were covered in blankets. Our head, face, neck, shoulder, arms, hands, legs, and feet were massaged, so relaxing!! The package also included a facial mask, and hair wash/ conditioning and drying. Such an awesome and relaxing experience! We did this as a date night and got the 45 min scalp massage package #1. It included a hair wash and condition with an invigorating scalp massage, a face cleansing/face mask/and jade roller, plus an absolutely perfect neck shoulders and arms massage. The beds were comfortable, the water was warm, pressure was just right and they kept you comfy under fuzzy throws throughout the service. After the services. Well today i had an appointment to do my hair, nails and pedi with Kim who apparently had an emergency... when i went in the two ladies were not welcoming at all even if the shop was empty and they were on the phone and did not seem concern in attending to customer... i asked if any of them could at least do my nails and they started stuttering and basically show no interests of wanting to do anything... i guess this shop is too good for my money... sorry Kim you can thank your coworker for losing a good paying customer... rude and no customer service.. read more

Have gone to this place 2 or 3 times, but will not be going back. Why don't these people listen and do what the customer requests? I only ask for the back to be cut and shaped and for highlights. I always take a picture of the cut I want, because of the language barriers. This time they were scissor happy and my hair is so short; I hate it; looks nothing, not even resembles the style I wanted. I was not happy with the highlights either. They may be able to cut hair, but only one tech can do nails. The others attempt. I went in to get my nails painted a certain way for my my pineapple themed baby shower. I just wanted pink with a pineapple on each ring finger. When I went in, the nail tech told me the other lady working would do the pineapples for me, after I showed her a picture. I said, awesome! and went ahead with a pedicure as well. Sure enough halfway through shaping my fingernails and the pedi, she informed me the other woman could not paint the little pineapples. She asked what i wanted instead. I would have left the salon and went to another one (that could do something as simple as painting a little pineapple on my nail) if I knew that what I wanted couldn't be performed at the get go! I felt pretty deceived. Seems obvious they will do whatever they can to get you and your money through the door even knowing they can't provide the service you want. My whole schedule got really messed up that day because I had to then leave the salon and go to another to get what I wanted done on top of paying for a very crappy pedicure and getting my nails shaped ..they charged me $35 it. waste of money. She managed to fix my highlights, and she even made them look better! this place is right in my neighborhood, and it's in a good location with Vons, Del Taco, Subway, Starbucks, Bank of America, a donut shop, a Chinese food place, a bookstore, just a happening area, right off the 55 freeway @ Nohl Ranch road/Tustin Street. Also, their pedicures are only $18.00! They do a good job with feet and with your hair. I love coming here, the job gets done and it's reasonable pricing. They are also open 7 days a week. Call ahead to make an appointment or just walk on in. They are really fast to get working on you :) read more
