For our main stairwell, we needed to build a closed stringer, custom railing, newel post, stair treads to match existing floors, and trim work. He was the ONLY person willing to custom build the newel post to the exact dimension and style I wanted and actually sat with me and drew it out exactly. Every other bidder told me my only option was to choose from a catalog, but Russ fashioned it from scratch! This convinced me he was the one to hire for ANY CUSTOM WOODWORK. Russ brought my vision to life by closing the stringer and building a clean and simplified trim. He worked with me on the stain for both railing and stair treads and did not give up until we were both satisfied. They kept site clean during the day & left with everything tidy & put away. UPDATED 06/27/25... heat has slowed down my progress, but, cleaning construction sawdust/screws getting ready to start moving stuff in. Many nails didn't quite make it to their "best" location... meaning, they were "shot" incorrectly & are sticking out at odd angles. Overall, they got me further than I was before they did the work I felt the price was fair and after seeing their work, decided to have them paint the shed (I was planning on doing it, but, heat & age, I knew it would take me much longer to get done.) They are painting as I write the review. (06/27/25 update Have reinstalled hasp latch correctly - but, it appears they tried to bend to work with their lack of knowledge as to how hasp locks work... installed correctly, screws are not accessible.... Needed to buy new hasp lock. Their installation had all screws easily accessible, meaning putting a lock on door was a waste of time. I WAS so impressed & pleased with their work, I'm have him bid on completing a pool to deck conversion. Apparently, he didn't want to work with my choice, so, nothing more was said. The steps in front of the house needed to be replaced. A number of contractors asked me to take…read morepictures of the steps with my smartphone and text it to them. It would be very difficult to give an accurate estimate that way because there's a lot of dry rot underneath the steps which needed to be inspected in-person. R&B Framing was the only company which showed up to take a look at the steps. Two days later, Jose Cedillo emailed me an estimate and thoroughly answered my questions. His company uses Redwood or cedar wood for Victorian homes, though cedar does cost extra. We were surprised by how fast his crew finished the job. They showed up on April 9th, early in the morning and worked until the evening. They arrived the next day to finish the rest of the steps and the banisters. He also painted the banisters according to the original white creme color. If it's a legacy house, they'll stick to the originality of the Victorian architecture. (Per building code regulations, when a house is considered a legacy house the paint must be the original--or close to the original color--of when the house was first built.)

I needed some help fixing a few things in my trailer that I didn't have the time to deal with…read more Roman took care of fixing some leaking PEX fittings under the kitchen sink, adding silicone to the kitchen sink and bathroom sink, as well as fixing many of the cabinets in the trailer that had the glass fall out of them (the hot glue used at the factory degrades quickly and the glass just falls out!). There was a lot of water damage to the base of the island from the leaking PEX fittings, and I hired Roman to replace it, but instead of charging me for the bigger job he told me that it would be a lot easier to just cover the water damage with additional boards since finding the matching color would be really difficult. It looks just as good, and it saved me some money. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any future needs.
