The company replaced our bathrooms and showers two years ago. One month ago, we noticed water damage in one of the bathrooms. The water was damaging the bathroom door and floor boards. Not knowing who could assist in fixing our situation, out of desperation, we called MKB. They did not recommend anyone, they came right out to review the situation. They stated the toilet was not replaced correctly in their remodel. Even though it was two years later, they replaced the floor boards and the bathroom door jam. The work was completed in a timely fashion and completed to the highest level. We received a bill two weeks later and it was zeroed out. No Charge! Modesto Kitchen and Bath remodeled our kitchen about six years ago. They did a wonderful job and we enjoy our kitchen every day. Recently, one of the hinges on a cabinet door broke. I called Steve and explained the situation. He sent a remodeler to our house and, on his inspection, found that they no longer use that exact hinge. He returned to the shop and a few days later arrived back at our house with a new but different hinge. He rehung the door and checked the hinges on all the doors. The bill for this work was zero, there was no charge to us. Now I call that great customer service, and MKB is a business that stands behind its work, even after six years. read more

They absolutely exceeded my expectations. Their materials costs were competitive. Steve is a very knowledgeable contractor and quickly provided a project quote that didn't change by one penny. Daisy is their Interior Designer and she provided the perfect guidance I needed in selecting the quartz patterns, sink color, fixturing etc. The Demo and installation crews showed up on time every day. We had a GREAT experience working with Modesto Kitchen & Bath! Due to extreme water damage in our house we needed to completely redo our kitchen, ie., cabinets, electrical, counter tops, backsplash, plumbing, lighting, appliance installation, sheetrock, etc.. We also had extensive damage to our dining room, several bedrooms and family room. Steve, Daisy and Blake were a huge help in designing the job, making selections, coordinating the work and completing the job in the time they told us it would take. Communications throughout the project were excellent. We received regular updates and the job was well supervised to insure everything was done properly and on schedule. All of the workers that came into our house (electricians, plumbers, painters, construction people, etc.) were extremely friendly, polite and helpful with the many questions we had. Bottom line? Our master bathroom remodel was finished a few weeks ago and we couldn't be happier. Steve and his guys are great to work with! Communication was great, from the first meeting to the end of the project. Every worker that entered our home was courteous and did their job quickly and well. Every worker did a great job of cleaning up at the end of each day also. MKB doesn't start the job until they have all parts in hand, so there are no delays mid-project due to supply chain issues. The contract that we signed at the beginning stated the price. Later, we received a schedule informing us how much we owed at each stage of the project. The price never changed and due dates were clear. Daisy was also great to work with. I emailed her my ideas, and when we met with her to choose materials, she had pulled items that were consistent with my ideas. Choosing the materials was an easy and fun process. It was estimated that our bathroom would be done in 6 weeks. It was done in 8 weeks, which we were very happy with. read more

Wow! We have a 30 year old house and the common bathroom was in need of an update do to linoleum floors Peeling and track home fiberglass tubs and sinks. They gutted the bathroom, and completely redone the bathroom. Ceramic tub and stone, with tile floor. It's incredible. After asking around for a reliable, professional and honest company I was referred to Modesto Kitchen and Bath. Steve and his crew were nothing shy of amazing. They were so patient with me as it was important for me to pick out my finishes. They were always there when they said they would be, gave us updates as to what was happening all the time. Looked around for a while before deciding to go to Modesto Kitchen and Bath to schedule an estimate for a kitchen remodel. Went to them due to a friend having a kitchen remodel done recently and her level of satisfaction with the results. Steve was easy going and answered all of our questions with concern for our budget and wants. At no point did Steve make us feel that he was pushing a sale and got us everything we wanted within our budget. The end result made me thankful that I went with MKB and didnt try and save a few dollars with a box store kitchen installer, or any other installer for that matter. The quality of the install was impressive. There was a significant amount of planning and skill that I watched go into my kitchen that I dont feel would have been seen with some of the larger "cheaper" home improvement stores. Additionally, based on the fact I am having the "most important" room in my house (in regard to resale) remodeled, I wanted it done correctly. Anytime there was an issue with anything during the process, it was quickly addressed and corrected without question, typically the same day. Most importantly, Steve and his workers were considerate of a newborn child at our residence and were trustworthy. At no time did anything cause me any concern for the integrity or professionalism of MKB. Thanks Steve and the Crew of Modesto Kitchen and Bath. Steve and his crew did an amazing job on our major kitchen, living room and back room remodel, we couldn't be happier with the results. They came in on budget except for a little overage that was due to the original flooring that was found to need extra work after demo which was outside the project scope. No worries, we had it covered since we'd already planned to expect something like this. Our renovation job was huge and a complete transformation, moving the kitchen from one room to another, major challenge during tear out as most everything in the room being moved into was stucco, all new plumbing, electrical, custom lighting, fans, flooring and plumbing for new propane tank and all new appliances. The guys in the crew were great to work with including the office staff.... Steve was our champion when dealing with the city inspector who was requiring going beyond the scope of work before he would buy off on it. Our hero contacted the inspector's manager who came out and agreed with Steve that we did "not" have to do the extra work. After the work was completed a few minor issues came up and Steve got it taken care of quickly and efficiently, great communication and outstanding customer service. I contacted Steve Benson in late November and scheduled a time to meet with him to go over my kitchen remodel ideas. The following day, Steve came to review our kitchen and then offer some ideas. It was very clear that I so desired a kitchen island; Steve was upfront and honest with me and stated that an island would not work in the current space unless we expanded the kitchen out. This would lead to major structural redesign and ultimately add greatly to the cost of the remodel. I was very impressed with Steve's honest appraisal of the situation especially knowing that I might be disappointed and decide to decline. A few days later, we received several 3D options for our kitchen. After a few meetings and collaboration on design changes, we were ready to start our remodel after the first of the year. Steve, Brandi and his entire construction crew are extremely knowledgable and dependable. Brandi called a few days before the job was to begin simply to check in with us making sure we were ready and if we had any questions or concerns. Each day, Steve would check with me and let me know who would be working the next day and when we could expect them. I never had to wonder if someone was going to show up; this attention to the schedule was very considerate and professional. My husband and I also appreciated the crew's attention to keeping our home as clean as possible during demolition and their respect of our space while they are working in our home. All contractors are employees of MKB so their work can be qualified by the test of time. Kevin is a precision craftsman in the art of tile and Ray is an ultimate perfectionist with a keen eye for detail and cabinet installation. Ultimately, our 8 week remodel was completed in 7 weeks. Owner, Steve Benson, spent an hour talking with us at our home, discussing what we wanted, options, etc. told us bid would be ready in two weeks--had it in a week. We then met with him and agreed on terms. Steve said it would take three weeks to finish; met with Brandi, designer, to help select quartz counter tops and glass tile backslash; spent adequate time with us, very professional and knowledgeable. We would never have come up with the coordinating design ourselves, but it looks fabulous. Steve scheduled our remodel for three weeks from that day; on scheduled day work got started at 8 am. Steve said it would take three weeks to complete--was completed in three weeks to the day. He has in-house contractors, which was great. People showed up when they were supposed to show up; they were really good at their craft, friendly with my children and dog; cleaned up when done; Kevin, tile guy, noticed two tiles that had fallen off in my front porch; one day I saw him re-attaching them. Raymond, plumbing/cabinet maker made sure everything was perfect and just how I wanted it; I purchased three new boxes/drawers with hardware. Greg, electrician, noticed that my outlet covers were 22 years old and proceeded to replace all my outlet covers with new ones. Steve observed that three other drawers were in really bad shape. He made me three extra drawers/boxes/hardware for free. The quality is top-notch. Don't just compare price when redoing a kitchen. Steve wasn't the cheapest, but all the materials he used were top quality, and he finished on time. I have heard so many horror stories from my friends about kitchens and bathrooms taking months. Because Steve uses in-house contractors, he make sure they have time to do your work. Throughout this remodel, all the professionals went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. I left a bad review for them before but it got deleted. They left my job unfinished and in bad shape. Said they would come back to take care of it. Never heard back. This is what happens when you pay them in full before the job is fully completed. They will give a payment plan with the last bulk payment 2 steps from completion. Do not go for this. Help!!! After buying a 50 year old home, we had no less than a dozen designers, architects and contractors confuse us about our remodel ideas. We met Steve Benson of Modesto Kitchen and Bath with a lot of anguish and frustration in our hearts. We started the whole house remodel by putting in French doors from the master bedroom out to the back yard. Steve was a good listener and always encouraged us to call, text, email or drop by his showroom at anytime. He and his staff were honest and open with us and kept us moving forward. Their capacity to understand our dreams was their greatest strength. Steve was the first one to be so positive and show us we could take out walls and totally remodel the smaller family, kitchen and dining rooms into a great room with a huge island. It has turned out to be such a fun space for family and friends. The bathrooms are amazing! We really had a clean slate to work with because Steve gave us the idea of totally removing the old bathroom so we could dream up the best possible plan. There were some challenging times as we talked about what we might do, but he was always willing to take the time we needed and guide us through the decisions necessary to make up our own minds. The entire master bath totally rocks! It has a handicap, no barrier shower that is so beautiful and stunning. Every towel bar is also a grab bar because Steve and his staff researched the possibilities and found perfectly matching towel bars to coordinate with our other fixtures. Tried to get them to come out to my house and come up with the design and bid for a kitchen remodel. Less than impressed over the phone. Really didn't want our business. The call took my name and number and we had to wait until someone to call us back to set up an appointment and then were told that Atwater was "too far". So much for "surrounding area". This is our second experience with MKB - seven years ago we hired Steve to remodel our kitchen. Based on the excellent outcome with the kitchen, we did not even pursue bids from other contractors when we had our bathroom redone. MKB wants you to be happy with the end result, even if it means they need to come back several times to address issues. This last remodel took less than four weeks - as promised. The service from the entire staff involved is professional and the materials are high quality. We started discussion of our kitchen remodel with Steve in July 2016. Steve and all the staff in the office were very helpful and informative during our project planning phase. Daisy was of significant help in planning the many different colors and finishes required. Steve's design of our remodeled kitchen addressed all of the requirements we had and he was very helpful in communicating the items we could/should not try to include. He is a very good listener and worked hard to ensure he was addressing all our needs. We underestimated the costs of a substantial remodel and while we did shop others who were cheaper than MKB they didn't measure up to Steve and his staff during the planning process. Work began and finished on schedule; all the guys working in our home were great, very courteous and respectful of our home. One of the workers (Jose) installing the cabinets and trim was outstanding, his attention to detail and desire to ensure his work met both his and our expectations was absolutely amazing. Many special requests that surfaced throughout the 6 weeks weren't an issue and everything was done with keeping the customer focus first. A few minor issues have surfaced since our project completed and Steve continues to respond very promptly and resolve items swiftly. Both my wife and I are thrilled with the work MKB completed and we continually receive compliments on our new kitchen. MKB may not be the cheapest, but we believe they are possibly the best.
