The staff and Dr were top notch; listening to my vision concerns, caring for my needs, and really explaining everything the entire way through. The Dr was very thorough and patient. She selected fames with the shapes and colors that would work best for me that I never would have thought I could pull off. Just recently went in for my annual eye exam that was well overdue. The staff upfront was very friendly. The entire experience was very enjoyable from the second you walk in to check in with staff to picking glasses. 100% recommend this place. The tall girl in the front office was very friendly and helpful when I mentioned to her that I had two possible insurances and was able to search it up for me. This is the only place I will go to get my glasses, I have very bad eyesight, and pair that with being irresponsible and it's an expensive mixture. However, I've been coming here since I was 5 , and older workers whom remember always come through and treat me like family, there are times I've broken my glasses and they do everything in there power to help me, people like Edie and Rosie, or even newer employees such as Jt or Jennifer. I love coming here, and it's not the same anywhere else, you don't get the sense of belonging or comfort. Glad to have come here, and within the last year I've gotten some rag and bone glasses, and some Prada glasses both times because I broke them unexpectedly and they helped me and understood my situation. So last time I was here for my appointment I set up an appointment for my 20 month old daughter. Well I came to the appointment yesterday and they had not put in the appointment in the computer. They were in a process of training someone when I made the appointment so I'm thinking that is why it wasn't put into the computer. Instead of saying sorry we can not take you, they made room for us. We got to see a different Dr. than I see, but I was ok with that. My Mom was with me to help because my daughter is shy sometimes and I was worried she might not do everything the Dr. needed her to do. They had an Elmo puppet and a very cool light wand to get her to look a certain way. My daughter loved Elmo and they let her hold it. It was so cool to have a waiting room area for kids, too. I've been coming here for 2 years and never noticed it. HA HA! My daughter loved the mirrored wall and the adorable animal chairs. I also liked that when we went into the exam room and waited for the Dr. to come. They brought my daughter this cool cube toy to play with. I would definitely recommend my other friends with toddlers to come here to have their children's eyes checked as well. read more

A place I've been going to as a kid. Now that I'm older I see this place is actually super over priced and has a group of rude employees. My prescription took a MONTH and a half to be written. I went blind for a month and their trial pair also tore in half out of my eye after a couple of hours of trying it. This place is absolutely terrible. They messed up my prescription and when I ordered an additional pair online, they were really uncooperative in getting it fixed. Dr. Elliot is extremely helpful, but the staff is a different story. I stopped into the office to pick up some contacts since I had a current prescription. I have a different prescription in each eye, the lady who helped me informed me that they only had one of my prescriptions available. I then asked if I could just get my prescription in writing so I could go else where since I needed them before the weekend. She told me I wouldn't be able to get the prescription until end of day (which would be 2hrs later). I was in a time crunch and lived out of town, I explained this to her with no helpful response. All I needed was a signature on a piece of paper. I understand Dr. Elliot would be with patients, but he couldn't sign my prescription in between patients? Many doctors can be wonderful, but when the staff is lacking compassion and sympathy it is discouraging for patients because we have more interaction with the staff the the doctors themselves. I had an appointment with Eddy the optician today to pick up the second pair of glasses made since the first pair were a nightmare due to wrong size and shape frame being picked out by staff on hand at the time, and needed to be sent back for a redo with the new frame Eddy picked out for my Rx. I went through literal hell for 2 weeks trying to adjust to that first pair! Dr.Elliot and staff are all very nice although patronizing and condescending. My Rx is farsightedness and difficult so everything needs to be perfect for a successful vision experience including the Rx, frame size/shape and fitting! So the second frame picked out was exactly the same as the existing glasses I have been wearing the last two years which worked at well for me and an easy fix/replacement choice!! I left today seeing much better after the redo but was told out of the thousands of frames available that I would really have to work hard if my existing frame becomes unavailable moving forward? Why would that be? As I mentioned, it's very important for my Rx to have the right frame and fitting! That's the optician's job!! If inventory is light then order a frame out of the thousand out there to choose from!!! Although they did a remake for me, Eddy was irritated to do it and very condescending today and a few weeks ago as well!! No vision customer should ever have to go through hell with their new glasses!! If there's an Rx change then yes, a day or two adjustment period is understandable!!! Tough to find competent people out there!!! Unacceptable and disappointing experience!!!! read more

For the past 16 years we have been using both Dr. Elliotts and all I can say is if you care about your eyes this is the place to go!!! All four of my children, my husband & I think they are worth the drive. My daughter receintly got her own insurance & Dr. Elliott is not on her plan....she told me that next year she will pay out of pocket because she now understands why we drove to Modesto to get our eyes checked. So after I posted my first review I received a call from Edie on Monday June 23rd. She apologized for the bad service from her staff and promised me that I would receive new "glasses" as soon as possible and that I would deal directly with her. On Wednesday June 25 I receive a call from the office, I expected Edie to be the person calling me but it was not. Another staff member called me to tell me my "glasses" were ready. I made an appt for the next day at 1 pm. When I got there with my 2 kids in tow, I was taken into the back within 5-7 mins. Not a long wait. But again it was not Edie I was dealing with but another staff member. I found it odd that she told me she would be handling everything from that point on but I had yet to deal with her directly. The other staff member took me & kids into the back room and asked me to take off my glasses so she could switch out my lenses. I told her wait a minute, I was told I was getting new "glasses". She said no they were just going to exchange the lenses, from the grey transitions to the brown transition lenses. I told her that I was expecting new glass because that is what I was told. Not new lenses. I have been wearing glasses since I was in kindergarten so I know what it means when I am told new glasses. The reason I was wanting the new glasses was that there were small jewels on the frame of these glasses I picked out and when I had received them on that Friday a few were already missing. She went to talk to some one and it was Edie that came back. I got to finally meet her and deal with her directly. She asked me why I didn't tell her about the jewels that were missing. I told her that on the Friday that I called to complain about my lens mistake the staff told me that they were ordering new "glasses" for me so I didn't say anything because I thought I was getting a NEW pair of "glasses". She looked at them and said that she could fix them. I waited and she put new jewels in them and changed out the lenses. Very nice lady to me and my kids. She even exchanged my sons frame, which was very bent, for a new one at no charge. A little better experience than last time. But one thing I would suggest for their employees is to use the correct and specific wording, generalizing "glasses" can make a patient confused at what they are actually receiving. I do know the difference between frames, lenses and glasses as a whole. It would have been nice to deal with Edie through the whole process like she had told me she would but I understand that things come up and she might have been busy. I am very thankful that she gave my son new frames for his lenses. They would have cost a lot for us out of pocket. After this correction of their mistakes and them fixing it so fast I will continue to have our visits here and hope that this does not happen again. read more

I have worn glasses for many years and had many examinations through my life. The eye exam I was given was the best, most thorough I have ever had. Besides all the instruments they use to test the eyes on various eye conditions, the doctor gives you an extremely thorough exam. My eye doctor found two conditions in my eyes, that I had not previously been diagnosed with. I have Macular Degeneration and Cataracts. Since I am in the beginning stages of Macular Degeneration, he suggested I begin vitamins for my eyes that should slow the progress of the disease. Thank you for such great service! I just recently came in for an annual eye exam and the assistant tried very hard to get me to buy a pair of transition lenses which would have cost me around $300. When she couldn't convince me to buy them, the manager, who was standing nearby the entire time, stepped in and tried to encourage me to buy them. It was very apparent the assistant got somewhat uncomfortable when the manager stepped in and continued to push the sales. I now know why my daughter feels uncomfortable going by herself when she has her annual checkup. The assistant and the manager, mainly the manager, need to stop being so pushy and listen to the needs of the customer, instead of looking like she wants you to spend more money. It appears they use some of the same strategies car salesmen use to pressure customers and lure them in for the manager to go in for the kill. Long story short, I did get my glasses and when I tried them on they were too strong. I was told I needed to give myself time to adjust to them. I have four other pairs of reading glasses and I never had to give myself time to adjust to them, but I guess they know more about my needs than I do. I still have the prescribed reading glasses because they refuse to take them back. I nor any member of my family plan on using their car dealership tactics again. read more

I made an appointment for a infraction so I could order new eyeglasses. They took me into a room with about 5 other people all being tested on different machines.The first test was for blood pressure. They raised it so high I screamed out in pain. Then they took me to another machine. I explained that last month I had seen my opthamologist who had taken all these tests and that they could verify with the doctor that I noted on their form. I said to them that I thought I must be in the wrong place for an infraction. Their answer was that the doctor was ready to see me. There was no explanation of their procedures and every time I spoke there was no response except to take me through their next step of testing.They were very robotic. The doctor never introduced himself so I don't even know his name. I continued to ask questions that he evaded when he told me that he checks for mistakes that my doctor made. After again saying I intended to make this appointment for an infraction, I was verbally attacked and told by the doctor that I was out of line. At that point I walked out and will never recommend this OD office to anyone. Is this doctor trying to act as a MD, Opthamologist ? read more
