First time in, driving thru area and my friend suggested we stop here for a sandwich. Counter guy was friendly and helpful. We split a sandwich, and they were nice enough to wrap each half separately, even including tomato on my half, which my friend does not like. Very good soft fresh roll. Friendly, local and delicious. We've been here a few times and always enjoy the food. Lots of great hot and cold options. Sandwich AND fries? Yes please. Always enjoy the atmosphere inside and there's nice outdoor seating as well. The bathroom situation could be improved, but honestly that's my only complaint. We are new in town and heard that the burgers were very good at the Eagles Nest Deli, But today I was in the mood for my favorite simple sandwich, Ham and Swiss on a sour dough roll with mayo and lettuce. My wife asked for BLT with avocado. So I went on line and checked for the best Deli sandwich in Cloverdale and MoE's Eagles Nest Deli came up. Perfect I said i'll go and get a couple of sandwiches to go and check the place out. The place was clean, nice clear menu on the wall, friendly staff. I ordered the 2 sandwiches and went home, excited about my simple ham and swiss sandwich. My wife and I unwrapped our sandwiches and my wife said perfect and delicious and I took a bight of my simple ham and swiss and my wife looked at me and said what's wrong ! Awesome!!! Looks like an old dive bar inside. Staff is friendly. The menu has so many great options. The only bummer was they were out of soup, but it was a late lunch. There is no soap in the men's bathroom. There was no soap added, after telling the young lady at the counter, that there was no soap. My pastrami sandwich had three thinly sliced pieces of meat on it. The cook wiped his brow and didn't wash his hands. The health department will be making a visit to this establishment. read more

Cute deli. The food was good. The customer service and ambiance was a bit off. Long wait between order and when the order was up. Then I had to go back and ask for the missing corn dog. While we started eating an abundantly harsh smell of bleach was present as if they were trying to get us out. Also one of the workers came and started putting chairs on top of the tables to everyone but us. They never said that we couldn't eat inside but man we did not feel welcome at all. What a cozy, nice place in the heart of Cloverdale. Unpretentious, yet very professionally run; it's a great place for lunch. You order at the counter and pick your table and give them the table number to deliver your food. I had the club sandwich and small order of fries plus a soda drink. The club was awesome, large, hearty and very chocked full of meat and cheese, plus fresh lettuce and condiments. The bread was top quality. Super tasty and filling. When I came in there were only 3 employees working, the line was out the door but that did not stop them from pushing out orders and treating people with the upmost respect! Everyone in the restaurant were very satisfied with their food and their service, regardless of them being understaffed and over pressured. I had ordered an mushroom burger and my grandma ordered a Rueben and my brother got a hot pastrami sandwich.IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING BURGER I'VE EVER HAD! My grandma also agreed, saying that she had never had a more delicious Rueben as the one they made. My brother said that the sandwich was better than any other in town, with the freshest ingredients. He had even gone back to get a second half sandwich for later. The side of fried green beans that I got were scrumptious. All the food was FRESH! Although they had forgotten to tell me that the drinks were self served (just because of how busy they were I'm guessing) I had easily found my way too the fountain machine and got myself my drink. The bathroom was honestly sad, I brought it up to the cooks and they said that if they could change it they would. They explained that they have tried many times to get it approved but for some reason kept on getting denied. Overall it was the best food that I've had IN A LONG TIME! The service was great and the family who ran it were cooperating with each other regardless of them being SLAMMED. MAYO ALERT!!! MAYO ALERT!!! MAYO ALERT!!! I do not want to come off sounding rude, but I honestly think the high reviews are from locals who have a limited amount of food options. The food was quite average but the service was the most offputting. This was our first stop on our way up to Fort Bragg for the weekend, and we were looking for some some sandwiches to pick up and eat on the road. The lady that took our order (I don't remember her name but she was a heavyset older blonde) asked us to repeat our order several times as if she didn't understand what we were saying. She kept giving us very blank stares and was very short, making the entire encounter extremely awkward. Our food was ready and was left on the counter for up to 15-20 minutes before we asked if it was ready, where they then handed it over without saying anything. We felt so uncomfortable eating here that we took it to go and ended up eating it in our car before continuing the road trip. Thought you've heard the worst of it? The food was almost more frustrating than the service. We ordered two toasted club sandwiches and it was basically Wonder Bread on craft cheese with a ton of mayo. The turkey even looked a little gray, no joke. It looks aesthetically pleasing in the pictures I took, but there's no freshness or flavor. The bread was really squishy and only one of the sandwiches was toasted! The bread was lightly warmed up, but the rest of sandwich wasn't toasted which left a weird temperature imbalance with each bite. Because the bread was barely warmed up and the inside toppings were ice cold, it left that thick layer of mayonnaise to turn into a lukewarm squishy mess. My advice, pick up a premade sandwich from Safeway instead and eat that on the road. read more

I was dismayed by a long single-star review that presumes the positive reviews come from locals who don't know any better. Let me say that I do know better, having dined at modest but excellent restaurants for my entire life. Very unique in the way that it appears the space was once a bar and has since been turned into a sandwich spot. I liked the reusable cards that you put your order on and select all of the toppings and such that you want. Made it easy to order. The staff was friendly and I like that you could grab a beer with your sandwich. My only 'complaint' for lack of a better word is that I found two hairs in my food. The first one I dismissed because I thought, well maybe it was my hair- prob not, but maybe? The second hair definitely was not mine though. I'm still giving five stars because although hair in your food is gross, I understand it can happen sometimes and I don't think it's because the business is careless by any means.
