I was craving Moe's and haven't had them in a while. They have lots of new items on the menu since the last time I've had them. It was really good. I had a protein burrito which comes with double meat. It was definitely filling and hit that craving. My only complaint was they didn't give enough sala with my chips. It was a delivery order so I could get more sala but it was definitely enjoyable. read more

Horrible service, possible health code violations, zero quality control. Staff have no ethics, no care for what they do. All of the mix ins contents behind the counter are slopped up, with all ingredients spilling into each other. Chips are in a giant bucket placed on the floor, wide open below counter height. Can't imagine that's code. Keep it up, Moes. You'll be out of business in no time. Sad to see it end with this generation's lack of ethics. read more

This Moe's is so ratty :( I'm only giving 2 stars because it's convenient, open late, and because of the free chips, but other than that I would never go here over chipotle. I got takeout tonight and the food quality is just so bad, but edible. The meat is grisly and nothing was either hot or cold, just all lukewarm cafeteria style meat. The salad bar was a nightmare (truly) with only one out of 5ish salsas available and even that one was at the bottom where I had to scrape it out to get enough for my chips. There was some confusion around whether I could swap out queso for guac (they ended up letting me but I was surprised it was such an unusual question). The employees were nice I suppose but wow not sure how this place is still in business. read more

Ordered from this location several times through Uber Eats. I've never had any issues. The food is fresh tasting, they have never forgotten to include everything I ordered... well except the free salsa once with my chips but not a major deal breaker since we order the queso. We usually do the burritos. The only issue I ever run into is sometimes they are over stuffed and the actual wrap can't hold all the filling, but again grab a fork and all is good. Delivery is always fast. No complaints for what it is, fast food. read more

Came in on a Friday evening. What steak-out will take 10 minutes even though chicken was on the grill. Pinto beans- out no move to replenish them. Needed queso for the nacho order- out. Need 10 minutes to make more. At that point we were OUT. Left the order sitting there so maybe the disengaged crew could eat no beef no queso no beans and now cold nachos. Just came in for a meal for my family and I. we paid an extra $10 for queso which is ridiculous. we tried doing online order and every time we end up having to order in the store. when we questioned why we were paying almost $50 for a three person meal on MOES MONDAY the not so nice crew member started going back and forth with us. we never have a pleasant experience when we come here, it's always something going on. this is most likely the last time we come. read more

6 years ago I posted a very positive review. Unfortunately, things have changed drastically. No tofu (my husband is vegetarian), no rock and roll salsa, and all three containers of sour cream were empty so that I barely got any on my burrito bowl, but the server didn't make any attempt to get more. Pretty sure the people who came after us were just out of luck. Chicken was lower quality than at another location I'd gotten lunch at last week. Many of the soda choices were out. Service was largely apathetic. Sad to see this place go downhill. Given the number of diners, most have caught on before we did, and I'd expect to see it close before too long. read more

Moe's is now in the Farmington Valley as this brand new store just opened up a few weeks ago. We walked in tonight (a Friday night) and the joint was jumping. We saw a ton of high school age patrons on the line that stretched from the service counter to the front door when we left. Not only were there a lot of people waiting in the line to order, we saw another impressive crowd of people behind the counter working as an efficient army to get the people through as fast as possible. You should be well aware of how Moe's works by now - it's assembly line fast food along the lines of the Subway Model. You order a burrito, quesadilla, salad, taco, or nachos with your choice of protein and a few dozen choices of rice, beans, veggies, and sides. I had a salad with grilled chicken tonight, tricked out with rice, black beans, grilled onions, grilled peppers, grilled mushrooms, pico de gallo, corn and jalapenos. It cost a few bucks more than its counterpart at Chipotle, but I thought this one tasted better. So that's one difference between Moe's and Chipotle -Moes is one or two bucks more. But Moe's offers tofu as a protein option and although Chipotle is getting into that game, just a few franchises already offer it and my local stop in Canton does not. Want another difference? Well Moe's has a nice salsa bar with 4 different choices. Chipotle doesn't have one. Moe's has more menu choices, and Moe's has one of those nifty free-style soda machines. I cooked up a batch of raspberry lemonade that was very tasty. Our three entrees ran $26, and the same thing at Chipotle usually runs around $22. That's not much of a difference considering all of the nice advantages we found at Moe's. Bottom line- I can see us working Moe's into our dinner rotation for sure.. read more

I've been to this Moe's location enough times to know that it falls FAR short of the quality that one should expect from the chain. HORRIBLE!!! asked THREE TIMES nicely to fix their rock and roll sauce because it was literally just vinegar and had white stuff floating in it. all they did was bring it to the back take out the floating stuff and come back. asked again and same thing. not only that but the portion sizes are so bad. the sour cream was literally a tiny little squirt and my bf got no corn. it's on a receipt in front of you it's not that hard. i would much rather spend more money at chipotle and get smaller portions than to deal with incompetent people who can't listen and do their jobs. praying they close down because wtf read more

I was very excited when I came in to get a burrito today. In the past I have received great portions and excellent service. Today I received a tiny portion and my burrito was leaking oil. The chicken had no seasoning on it and the rice tasted like it had been reheated from a few days ago. Barely received any chips in my bag. That was a waste of $15. We love their food NDA that's why we say 3 stars.... We love the family meal kits. We don't even mind that they stopped using those cool boxes for the kits - totally understandable in today's F&B industry climate with businesses struggling. But what we don't love is their inability to complete orders accurately and this is based on over a year of ordering from them at least every other weekend. Every.single.time we order there they mess up the order. One time they gave the DoorDash driver someone else's order to deliver to us and our $80 takeout order was handed to us in a small bag with one entree and chips. We were perplexed and called and they didn't offer to send someone out to bring our order to us so we had to chase down a refund from DoorDash and then go out and pick up the order ourselves. If you order there, go pick it up and confirm everything you ordered is in the bag. Don't have a delivery service do it. read more

If the 35 minutes we spent in line were bad enough the people that were both preparing the food and checking out the customer seemed to care less about making our food getting us out of the store. On top of that when my brother and I got home our burritos fell apart because of poor wrapping. Overall it was the third time in three weeks I've had a bad experience at this location. It sends a message when you are grabbing a late lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and the district manager has to pay a visit due to the incredibly poor service. While I personally did not have to wait longer than 5 mins to get my order taken, there was a gentleman waiting in a booth for an online order that was supposed to be ready for 1:30 pm. When I arrived, it was 2:10 pm... When I left, I could hear the district manager doing everything she could to make it right, but unfortunately it's not the district managers customers have to deal with on a daily basis. The service here is continually slow and borderline rude. They are always out of key ingredients, including bacon, and the soda machine seems to be constantly out of order. I do not come to Moe's often and would not be surprised if this location is not here next year. Do yourself a favor and head up the street to Chipotle for your Tex-Mex cravings. read more

Poor, Poor, Poor. (1): 6:30PM Friday evening. Maybe eight walk in patrons. Line manger was yelling, yelling, at the few CUSTOMERS that service was slow due to a backup of delivery & pick up orders. In an industry that has very rich and detailed scheduling systems peak business hours can easiy be adjusted for. Whatever the system failure, that lack of basic front store customer service courtesy and respect was exceptional. Poor selection and training on this point, a reflection on upper management. (The rest of the line dippers...head down on the table drones). (2) Two of five protiens where not available. Had to scrape very bottom of the pot for several add ins'. Again systems management. (3) Assembly was a matter of slapping ingredients into the bowls. (4) Checkout was delayed and backing up the service line while delivery / take out orders were processed. Poor POS management. No way to respect six foot social distancing. I had low expectations on entering the store based on several of years prior experience here and at the Bristol store...just thought I'd give it one more shot. My low expectations were attained. I was very disappointed with my Moe's Catering delivery from Newington, CT. I ordered the Taco Kit, received everything except the soft taco shells. I called them, first the person that asked the phone answered the phone hello. I told him my issue he said hold on, came back to the phone and said sorry they should have called before they sent the order out and told you we have no soft shells in the store. I said so it's ok to send out a taco kit order with no taco shells? He said this is not a delivery store but you can come pick up some hard taco shells. Serving size was half of what it normally is... very skimpy on the portions. The service was good and the workers were nice. My meal was $15 for a bowl and a drink. Wasn't worth it in the slightest bit. The steak tasted and had the texture of rubber. The rice was crunchy and tasted like cardboard. Chips were also very stale. This Moe's Southwest Grill in Avon, CT location is DISGUSTING!!! I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down by the health inspector for cleanliness & who knows what else. Went to grab some grub here while in the neighborhood & dined in. Their station where they top your order is filthy. The meats are all over each other along with the veggies & beans. Their tables were filthy with stains of food and on their seats. Their floor was disgusting with squished food since everyone was walking all over them staining their shoes. I almost slipped and fell with if I did, I'm sure I would have called my lawyer & sued for injury. What makes it even more disgusting is the heavy set female manager or whoever she was. She was throwing items around having a tantrum about something. Cursing and making rude comments in Spanish about the customers. It was seriously GROSS. If she was going to behave in such a nasty way, she should find another job or just stay indoors. Also the rest of the employees seems like they had a stick up their ass with attitudes. Most of the customers including myself found it irritating & annoyed at the fact that our visit to this establishment was very grossly unpleasant. Its employees like her & and the rest of them working in there give this place a bad reputation. I WILL NEVER EVER EVERRR COME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN! EVER!! Things i like: they give you tortilla chips and salsa with every meal, they have black olives (yes, they're THAT important to me), Moe's Mondays, and the line moves quickly. Things I don't like: the tables are always sticky, the staff isn't always friendly (most are, but some are borderline rude), and Moe's Mondays - the down side is that you need to order in the store and you only get one offer per person (so my husband can't just go and order for the family - I totally get why they do that, it's just inconvenient). I really like the fact that they build it to your specs right in front of you and it's nice and hot. The people on the other side of the counter were friendly and courteous. The only thing that I'm going to dig them on is the reaper salsa. It really wasn't near as spicy as I was hoping. They also labeled everything with the name on the order, rather than the names we put on each item. That's not helpful when multiple people order burritos and we can't tell them apart. Stopped here for some burritos with a friend, and we were able to grab the Monday night special ($5.99 for a burrito and $1.49 to add a soda). I got the homewrecker with tofu. The burrito, chips and salsa were delicious. I love that they have a tofu option and so many veggies to add. However, the service was a bit off that night, possibly due to the amount of ppl that came in for the burrito deal. The servers were messing up a lot of the orders, and would often walk off in the middle of making an order. Definitely understaffed. It seemed there was a struggle between workers keeping up with cooking and prepping for customers in the front. However, despite this issue, staff was still friendly. read more

I'm not giving this place a 1 star because at least it's cheap, and the salsa's were fine, and my kids weren't disappointed in their taco/quesadilla. Went before a movie so it was around 6:20, either been a sloppy mess all day or a busy early dinner crowd, but the staff didn't take a few down time minutes to wipe the line, put lids back on the food, etc. starting at the beginning, not a single person said hi, or their signature "welcome to moes" catch phrase. Is this a standard by chain owners to omit the welcome? Food was so bland, nothing had flavor but the items on the salsa bar, of which had an unacceptable amount of salt in every salsa. Ew. Back to the mess, each lid for 1/6,1/8,1/4 pans were caked with bean juice, crispy old cheese, rice, corn salsa all over the board. The handler was nonchalantly building my burrito letting the juices from the slotted spoons go into the other ingredients. He was slow to put any ingredient on the tortilla, and remember to not roll off a list of desired ingredients more than one at a time, because you'll be asked to repeat, like 5x! Focus people! I need to post the photos I took, seriously nasty. Management? Anywhere? I dont know, I didn't ask, but she or he should take a food safety course as I saw about ten illegal and dangerous practices. (I am serve safe certified, and have been consistently for about 15 years) Food was tasteless. No flavor in anything and I will tell you the beans looked so terrifying I almost walked out. They just apologized and didn't offer to make me a new one or anything so now when I go I just stick to veggies. Also It's always dirty and somehow in the dead of winter there's still flies in there. I love this restaurant so much that I need to point flaws out so they can be corrected. My partner and I dined in on Tuesday 12/16/14 around 5 pm. The manager was alone behind the line. I know he's the manager because I've seen him conduct application interviews. He prepared our meals, then another employee popped out of the kitchen to ring us out. The ringer then disappeared back to the kitchen. We sat and ate with an off to the side, but clear view of the line. After making our meals, then the meals of another couple, the manager began EATING chips out of the service bin. Chip to mouth. Chip to mouth. Then he walked over to the hot line and popped some chicken into his mouth, with full finger to mouth contact. Not a toss. Chew. Chew. Chew. He then walked around the line and got a drink to wash it down at the freestyle machine. Then he got a rag, wiped up the salsa bar and garbage bin, then jumped behind the line when two new guests walked through the door. And Never. Changed. His gloves. Once. He couldn't see me staring at him the whole time. What else does he do when he thinks no one is looking? I mean, there were eight guests around the dining room at that time. Did he think not ONE would be watching? We had already finished, and were thoroughly grossed out. By that point he was done with the new customers' food and went back to the start of the line. We were so moved by what we saw, that we caught the couple at the register and told them what he did. They were grossed out as well. We didn't stay to see the aftermath, if there was any. I just had to say that, Iv read these other reviews regarding the food area where the burritos are prepared and what are you to expect? The place packs out with people, they move you along pretty fast for everything made to Order and it's a bunch of messy products they are added into a burrito.... It's not subway, these are not deli meats.... ITS MEXICAN food and those photos of the food stations being messy, well that's at every MOES so don't let that detour you. Seeing that the containers are almost empty and the time frames in which the negative reviews were written for, tells me the had a rush of people. Work any retail job and have a rush of customers and then stand back and look around... It will be messy. It's clean, the employees are super nice and they know how to prepare a good meal. It's a must have and we are fortunate to have the local establishment! Look forward to retuning. read more

It was very dirty on the counter and the floor around the salsa counter and the drink area. When I went to get my drink they were out of ice and the soda that I wanted was "unavailable".
