This Moe's is so ratty :( I'm only giving 2 stars because it's convenient, open late, and because of the free chips, but other than that I would never go here over chipotle. I got takeout tonight and the food quality is just so bad, but edible. The meat is grisly and nothing was either hot or cold, just all lukewarm cafeteria style meat. The salad bar was a nightmare (truly) with only one out of 5ish salsas available and even that one was at the bottom where I had to scrape it out to get enough for my chips. There was some confusion around whether I could swap out queso for guac (they ended up letting me but I was surprised it was such an unusual question). The employees were nice I suppose but wow not sure how this place is still in business.

Moe's is now in the Farmington Valley as this brand new store just opened up a few weeks ago. We walked in tonight (a Friday night) and the joint was jumping. We saw a ton of high school age patrons on the line that stretched from the service counter to the front door when we left. Not only were there a lot of people waiting in the line to order, we saw another impressive crowd of people behind the counter working as an efficient army to get the people through as fast as possible. You should be well aware of how Moe's works by now - it's assembly line fast food along the lines of the Subway Model. You order a burrito, quesadilla, salad, taco, or nachos with your choice of protein and a few dozen choices of rice, beans, veggies, and sides. I had a salad with grilled chicken tonight, tricked out with rice, black beans, grilled onions, grilled peppers, grilled mushrooms, pico de gallo, corn and jalapenos. It cost a few bucks more than its counterpart at Chipotle, but I thought this one tasted better. So that's one difference between Moe's and Chipotle -Moes is one or two bucks more. But Moe's offers tofu as a protein option and although Chipotle is getting into that game, just a few franchises already offer it and my local stop in Canton does not. Want another difference? Well Moe's has a nice salsa bar with 4 different choices. Chipotle doesn't have one. Moe's has more menu choices, and Moe's has one of those nifty free-style soda machines. I cooked up a batch of raspberry lemonade that was very tasty. Our three entrees ran $26, and the same thing at Chipotle usually runs around $22. That's not much of a difference considering all of the nice advantages we found at Moe's. Bottom line- I can see us working Moe's into our dinner rotation for sure..

I came here with very low expectations since I hear so many people talk bad about Moe's. Ended up being pleasantly surprised. Good size food portions, good customer service, and lots to choose from. Was a little bummed out they didn't have any cilantro lime rice since they were about to close. I like how chips come with every order too. They were nice and gave us a little extra. The food was outstanding, would for sure go back

    Example of poor wrapping

If the 35 minutes we spent in line were bad enough the people that were both preparing the food and checking out the customer seemed to care less about making our food getting us out of the store. On top of that when my brother and I got home our burritos fell apart because of poor wrapping. Overall it was the third time in three weeks I've had a bad experience at this location. Until management and employees are changed I would highly recommend not dining at Moe's Southwest Grill in Avon CT

That's because when you pull into the shopping plaza.....you don't see it. But if you circle around to the right, you'll see it on the side of the strip mall's buildings. And trust me, this spot is definitely worth hunting down to experience a standout breakfast or lunch. We walked in a little before 1:00 yesterday and found a table for two in the back left corner of the dining room, so we had a good view of the entire room. I have to tell ya, the place was packed! Breakaway closes at 3:00 every day except Sunday (2:00), and there were breakfast and lunch menus out, plus a few daily specials. My wife went with a "William's Ham Panini" ($17) with thin sliced ham, bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar and honey mustard on a grilled panini. We both were struck at how much ham was piled onto her sandwich. She had a few choices for a side dish and put her nickel down on potato salad. I went with The JT Salad ($16). The menu says it's been their "best-selling salad 25 years and counting". It was a big portion of mixed greens served with house balsamic dressing, grape tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, and grilled chunks of teriyaki glazed chicken breast. It was stellar, with plenty of that yummy cheese and chicken. The only sour note with our lunch was a rather steep $4.25 for a glass of iced tea that was half-filled with ice. The food was very good and a decent amount of leftovers came home with us for another day. I was unexpectedly impressed by how crowded Bistro was on a random Monday. I bet you'll be too.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Because I'd never been before, they explained that we ordered at the top of the stairs and they would deliver our food to a table after we sat down at one. The staff at Millwright's is great, so it isn't surprising that they were here too! The space itself is casual. I came on a weekday evening and there were several empty tables remaining, and the weather outside was perfect. From the pictures, you can tell that they are creating a tiki atmosphere, which was perfect for the space. I could imagine that on a rainy or humid day though, it might be a little less than pleasant to eat outside. The food really earned this place such a great review. I've been to a handful of restaurants recently locally where I had high expectations, and I was disappointed. That was not the case here! The drinks were great (we had El Guapos), and all of the food was delicious. My favorite items were the mushroom 'chorizo' nachos and the Baja fish taco. The 'chorizo' didn't taste much like true chorizo and wasn't spicy, but I didn't care because it was still delicious! The corn chips seemed fresh and all the flavors worked well together. I would recommend to anyone local to try this place this summer. It has amazing food and a great, casual atmosphere. I'll definitely be returning here before the summer is over!

So, today is officially the last time I'll ever eat at any Chipotle again. The issue is simple I…read morecannot stomach what they serve. The reason: the seasoning. Simply put, every time I order, the food is hotter than the time before. Tonight's fare was so goddam hot I barely got through 2 bites and I physically stop eating to let my mouth cool off...that was 30 minutes ago and my mouth is finally calmed down enough for me to write this. Now, this has been happening for years and me and my buddy (who is with me most every time this happens) and tonight was no exception. He likes mildly hot food and he took 2 bites and looked at me and exclaimed that it was, in fact, blistering hot. Now, in all fairness to Chipotle, maybe that's exactly how they intend their food to be and as such, then the onus is on me to know this and just to steer clear of it. The only reason I keep doing this is that back around 5-6 years ago, when I started frequenting Chipotle (and this singular restaurant), I always ordered the exact same thing (a bowl with an open tortilla inside, white rice, pinto beans grilled chicken, guacamole, shredded cheese and sour cream). Originally this had no fire whatsoever, so little that every once in awhile I'd have a little queso blanco on the side, so I could control the amount of heat I'd ingest, because it was the only ingredient that had heat. That didn't last though. It (my "order") has been getting hotter and hotter. Every time we order, and very time it's hotter than the time before, to the point that I've mostly stopped ordering altogether. There are occasions when my buddy wants to go and I'll get all reminiscent and order, only to get it, until my mouth is on fire and I'm handing it to him to eat and I go get a cheesesteak. The difference this time? It was nearly too hot for HIM to eat it. That made the decision for me. I'm about to eat the cheesesteak I just ordered and received, and I'm never going back to Chipotle. It really sucks, because I truly enjoyed my order there and would eat it - weekly if I could. Oh well - sometimes things evolve in ways that some continue to enjoy, but at the expense of others who do not...unlucky for me, but I'm in the latter group.

Wow well this was a sad experience…read more Came here for my birthday lunch with family. The server was all alone trying to wait on a dozen tables or more. We ordered an appetizer of nachos and a few burgers for mains. And waited. And waited. I was checking my watch often because we had two hours on the parking meter that was rapidly winding down to zero. Nachos came after a while. Nothing to write home about... almost stale chips with a cheese/sour cream/green onion and jalapeño topping. Maybe a dozen black beans in the mix. We waited again for our mains. After a total of an hour, they came. I ordered a black & blue burger and asked for tomato to be added. It arrived without the tomato, so I reminded the waitress about that. And eventually the tomato came from the kitchen. Single slice. But by this point the burger was getting cold. I opened the bun to put it on and then saw the kitchen forgot the onion strings. So I flagged her down again to ask and she apologized and went off... to clear other tables. After ten minutes I asked her if the onion rings were coming and she was confused, thinking I didn't want them because I asked for no onions on my salad. No, I just said no raw onion on the salad. She asked it I wanted the onion strings after all. At this point, the burger had been sitting for at least ten minutes and I told her to forget it and just remove it from the bill. She looked over her shoulder and said, "here comes the manager". The manager shows up, reaches over to adjust the umbrella on our table, then leaves. Without saying a word. He walks off and we don't know what's going on. The waitress returns and says she comped my burger 50%. I asked why not 100% because I'm not eating it at all. She blinks and says she'll check. Bill comes back with it removed from the total, and I'm missing my credit card. She runs back exclaiming how she forgot the card and probably could use some coffee today. Ummm, yeah. This was error on error. Not a good look and pretty sad customer service. At least they had the World Cup on tv.
