What I did to their amazing queso.
    Patrick C.

I came in to a long line but it didn't feel like it. They moved fast but when it was my turn they were friendly and not rushing me. All moes food is good food. This was no different. Best burrito and queso out there. Rock star sauce at the salsa bar. Place was clean. I couldn't as for more. I'll come again.

    Well this looks horrible...

If you want service that is extremely lacking in any urgency or teamwork than this is your place. Given two chances, I've noticed team members standing around not helping each other while the person at Station 1 seemed to be the slowest. While they did adhere to the "Welcome to Moe's" mantra you hear from other locations, the work ethic and swiftness of other franchises was severely lacking. The cleanliness of the lobby did help but impatient patrons waiting in line for over twenty minutes did not help their overall image. While the manager did a great job serving me when I waa up, I felt he should have been watching his line to help. When I arrived I had six people in front of me at 12:41 pm. I did not get to Station 1 until 1:17pm. For a Moe's this seems very slow!

Great place to walk right in and pick from the menu and then you can customize your food staff is friendly the place is clean and the food is excellent.

Moe's is my go to for lunch regularly. With it being not far from my work and the ease of creating a vegan friendly meal, choosing Moe's doesn't require much thought. I typically go for building my own bowl, but the burritos are pretty good too. I stack my bowl with rice, black beans, grilled mushrooms and onions, corn and regular pico, lettuce, fresh cilantro, and pickled jalapeños; sometimes black olives and guac depending on how I feel. I've always liked Moe's for the variety of toppings/fillings they offer. My one pet peeve about Moe's is a messy salsa bar, and this location does a good job of keeping the area around the salsa wiped down and neat. My only complaint about this location is that they could stand to be a little faster at the assembly line, which is probably more noticeable to me since I'm often on limited time when I eat here.

This is while the employees were up front standing around doing nothing!

We were seated in about 10 minutes, which is unheard of on a night like that. The service was next level; multiple servers worked together seamlessly, making sure every table was taken care of without missing a beat. The kitchen was firing on all cylinders, pushing out food fast despite being completely packed inside and out, and everything came out hot, fresh, and perfect. They even had complimentary snacks to build your own street corn (hands down my favorite) and gave out Cinco de Mayo glasses, which was pretty cool. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place, the food, the service, the atmosphere, all of it. La Placita is the real deal. Locally owned and operated by genuinely great people, and it shows in every part of the experience. If you're looking for how a restaurant should run on its busiest day of the year, this is it.

I was greeted fairly quickly when I entered and guided to a seat with a menu and silverware. A few minutes later, the server (was bilingual) came out and asked for what I wanted. I received my salsa and chips at this time. The salsa was pretty watery and lacked spice or much flavor. It was nothing special, and chips seemed like they were made a long time ago. Looking at the menu, it seemed like a typical Mexican restaurant though I was a little disappointed that the street tacos didn't have many options. I was a little inclined to think after looking at the menu that it was more Tex Mex. They did seem to have a nice deal for aguas frescas with two glasses for under $3. That's pretty unheard of here in HSV. I ended up ordering 3 pastor tacos. I received food fairly quickly. The street tacos have a large amount of cilantro and raw onions, but not as much meat as I had hoped for. The red sauce served on the side wasn't very spicy and had more of a smokiness. Not sure I had the experience I wanted. I had to wait a bit after finishing my food to get my check or even see the waiter. If I come back, I'll try the aguas frescas.

Wife second was a better tasting than her first. (She ordered something different, it was much better.) We did the pick 3 from the queso's, and salsas. Pimento cheese, Ghost Pepper salsa, and Queso w/ Andouille sausage. Tacos were fabulous, wife and I both did the pick 3 flights. I stepped out of my comfort zone today and tried something that I had never come across before. Yup, pineapple in a quesadilla. I ordered the chicken and it all paired well. Next time I'm going to ask them to double the pineapple. This is a pretty decent place. Margaritas are premade, including the top shelf. They were average. The salsa has a pretty good after kick to it so be warned. Overall a good place for Mexican.

And I've had wine on their patio with some chips and maybe a taco a time or two. The food is edible and common tasting in my opinion. It's Alabama Tex-Mex and not very fresh tasting. They have an upstairs and there is lots of space for larger groups if you need a spot for a dozen or so guests. The service has always been really solid here and again, the basic wine is drinkable. Years ago, I think in 2013, this restaurant moved from South Parkway in Huntsville to this location at Providence. Definitely a hidden gem!…read more My husband was out of town last week and so I decided I'd go somewhere I'd wanted to try that was out of the way to treat myself and help pass the time without him. I reviewed my bookmarks and settled on Barrio! This restaurant is located near the ever-popular Valentina's pizza -- I believe it shares a building with the first location of the pizza place before they moved a little up the road. Otherwise, it's sort of "out there" -- though I'd argue it's very much worth a special trip. The parking lot is a little small but it's also a fairly intimate restaurant so you won't be fighting insane crowds anyway. It felt clean and modern inside and the restaurant boasts a nice long bar. I was offered my choice of seat; I took a booth since they weren't super busy (it was a Tuesday evening). My server was Cameron. He was very sweet and worked hard at being attentive and helpful. My food came out promptly with each order and was prepared as I'd requested. No complaints there! The menu here is more authentic and more upscale than many Texmex options in the area. This makes me happy because I prefer Mexican cuisine served this way. I felt a little bad for the servers, though, as they had to field several questions from parties about matters of cheese dip, what mole is, etc. They cheerfully and patiently provided great education, but I hope in writing this I can save them some trouble in the future, lol. You should absolutely give Barrio a try, but Little Rosie's it is not (nor should it be)! Anyway, rant over...Cameron brought out some chips and both salsa rojo and verde. This was maybe the only thing I didn't particularly care for all night. Neither salsa had a ton of flavor or heat to my palate, and the chips were fried a little heavily/dark for me. I was concerned after this but I shouldn't have been because my entree and dessert were both delightful. I ordered the enchiladas suizas, which comes with rice and beans. The rice was fluffy and light. The beans were a beautiful dark black color and subtly smoky, nice and smooth but not too much so. And my enchiladas... Okay, a thing about me is that I always think I'll love enchiladas (who doesn't love a soft and creamy, cheesy, warm meal?) but EVERY TIME I order them they disappoint me. I've FINALLY found a place where they were all I'd hoped they'd be. The chicken inside was tender and succulent but not mushy; the tomatillo sauce was bright and flavorful; the cheese added the perfect amount of gooeyness...really, really good. Thoroughly redeemed, I also placed an order for churros. I requested they be packaged to go as I was sure I wouldn't eat them all in one sitting. Cameron obliged and brought out the dessert in two separate containers (one for churros, one for ice cream). I appreciated his thoughtfulness, though I wound up eating the ice cream and some churros there because I didn't want it to melt. The ice cream was delectable -- honestly, it tasted like homemade vanilla to me but whatever they use, it's awesome -- and the warm, cinnamon-covered and caramelly churros were the perfect companion. I ate three there and took three home for later. So good! This restaurant has many offerings I've rarely seen throughout Huntsville (read: especially chicken mole -- hard to find!). They seem to really care about the food and execute it on a high level. Please give them a try when you get a chance. I'll definitely return in the future.
