This place is the worst! Between the bad app to order ahead, old soda that flows from the self-service soda fountain and the god-awful customer service, there is no reason to eat at this place. There is never a manager on-site to resolve issues and the employees are incapable of problem solving or accommodating a customer. The neighborhood is replete with other fast-food places where you're more likely to get answers and a meal that won't give you E. coli or some other illness. I have given this place too many chances. Alright. I'm a consistent, and i mean CONSISTENT, costumer at moes southwest grill. I've been showing up consistently for about 4 years and show nothing but loyalty to this restaurant. BUT, my last visit left me disgusted, traumatized, fearful, and heartbroken. I entered the store, as i always do, with a smile on my face. Ordering my burrito was casual. Until my cravings provoked me to ask for a small side of queso. The nice woman pulled out a FUCKING ZIP LOCK BAGGIE of queso and poured it willingly into my cup. I ignored this disgusting action and continued to the cash register. There, a man I have never seen at this location, was waiting for my credit card as i paid for my slightly delicious food. As I was ready to leave the store (with just ice in my cup because the drink machine was broken) the off putting man hollered at me to get back to the register because i did not pay. I DID PAY. but since i'm not cheap i payed to benefit this restaurant which i USED TO love so much. He also wrongfully accused my friend for also not paying. #BROKEASSBITCH I continued my night in Panera to study for my very important test which will determine my future. THE MAN FOUND ME IN PANERA TO APPLOGIZE. 1. how did he know i was in there. 2. why did he feel it was appropriate to approach me, a young women. I felt violated and uncomfortable. after he left he re-entered my personal bubble about 12 minutes later to give me cash. I didn't ask for cash. I didn't want him near me. Been a long time since I've been to this location. Ordered a chicken burrito bowl. Got plenty to eat, except there wasn't much chicken in the bowl! Skimpy on the chips as well. Nice to have the selection of salsas, along with a Freestyle machine and some other drinks as well. Not running back, as for me $9.59 + tax for a bowl of mostly rice, beans, and lettuce isn't a good value. I didn't check the reviews but came here instead of Panera at the last minute. Was hoping it would be a chipotle replacement but ingredients not as fresh. Got a bowl with chicken (salty) and lettuce, tomato, corn, onions and peppers, cheese, guac and some other stuff. All entrees come with chips and salsa. So the price point is good but it was sad and grey looking, not particularly tasty. The other issue was that they have a self serve salsa station where spoons and buckets of salsa are on ice for the customers to just scoop on their own. Honestly post pandemic, I'm not taking food from anything that is buffet style. Even pre pandemic I wasn't a big fan but now I gotta trust that some grubby organism coated fingers haven't accidentally double dipped into this vat of salsa? No thanks. So maybe lack of salsa also added insult to injury. read more

It's quarantine. Cinco de Mayo. First of all the stack should have been cut in half, it wasn't. It's soggy and falling apart, of course I was unable to cut it because of it being so soggy. The amount of chips you get with the order is laughable, ten percent of the chip bag is filled. We ordered online as well. Won't be doing that again. This place used to be good. They have the worst salsa for the chips, they taste like metal or cucumbers. They are also not participating in any of the rewards ie: taco, burrito, etc. They also frown upon you asking for putting all the condiments on the taco or bowl or add both rices. If there was a limit or a sign this would be understandable, unfortunately they really have gone down the tubes. The other day I was in the mood for a butt buster burrito, but my idiot boyfriend wanted barbecue. So, we compromised and got butt busting burritos. Somehow they are able to cram about five pounds of fixings inside of a napkin sized tortilla. The ingredients are amazingly meh and the decor is surprisingly meh as well! I suggest going on Moe Monday - which should be a federal weekly holiday in my and many others opinions. You get free tortilla chips, which the lovely workers considerately scoop out of a deep pit barehanded while you watch in delight. I got an e-mail today offering a $5 burrito (fine print says "participating" locations in Northern NJ, among other places), so I asked about that, and the new person in charge told me they're only participating in national promotions now. I appreciate the different "vibe" Moe's gives when compared with Chipotle. The food is definitely different but so is the general restaurant ownership feel. I don't know what model both Chipotle and Moe's uses in terms of franchise ownership, but Chipotle definitely feels more like a large corporation vs. Moe's. One would hope this could give some edge to Moe's in terms of customer service, but almost every time I went to this particular Moe's, I felt the staff was SUPER skimpy on the chosen ingredients. For example, a meal titled: "Homewrecker," which the name is questionable in itself, you would think you'd be getting a massive meal. However, each time I've ordered it, the quantity paled in comparison to a regular burrito or bowl at Chipotle. While I was miffed, I kept in mind that this probably is a more "owner-based" franchise, so I ought to cut them some slack. However, today was where I drew the line, not because of the quantity of food I received (or lack there of), but the attitude I was given when simply ordering my meal. I ordered a steak bowl (which had basically 2/3 the scoop) and after choosing the first 3 toppings, every topping I chose afterward, I was given a little bit of a stare, which then led to an audible "ugh," as if I was asking for "too much." It was clear they didn't want to give so many ingredients because again, after the first 3 toppings, the quantity of each subsequent topping dwindled. Honestly, I don't know if I will be going to this specific Moe's anymore. Of all the times I'd gone, I've had only one helpful experience there. Revisited Moe's in Northvale, NJ after many years. Ordered via the Moe's app. They forgot the salsa for the chips and wouldn't give me the free queso I was rewarded. But all that didn't matter. The food was TERRIBLE and in an hour my wife and I got Montezuma's Revenge. We never before got sick in any Mexican style restaurant, not even in Tijuana, not in Taco Bell. Never again. read more

I tried Moe's for the first time with my coworker. I was a little apprehensive after seeing so many crummy reviews. I was delightfully surprised, not only with the service but the food. I got a burrito bowl and the portion size was good for the price. The food itself was delicious and I enjoyed it enough that I plan on returning frequently for our lunch breaks. Great service and pretty good burritos, but it's still no Chipotle. Moe's Monday special is ALL day, which means burritos, chips, bottomless salsa and a drink for under $10. Now that's an offer that has to be taken advantage of. They don't mention the salsa bar, but it's right by the cash register so you can't miss it. As for the complaints about the burritos not being spicy enough, I am baffled. You choose what gets put on it, so with two different jalapeño options and hot sauce, I don't know how much more spice one could take. It's worth checking out on a Monday. read more

If I could give this Moes a zero or negative response I would. This is the only Moes that I have ever had issues with. I have written several letters and emails to Moes corporate office, but have not received a response. This seems to be my only recourse. The managers is rude, argumentative and gives less portions than I have received at any other Moes. He needed to give me a refund that he didn't agree with and after he argued with me he gave me the refund OUT OF THE EMPLOYEES TIP JAR. I love Moe's, but The Northvale, NJ location is the worst location ever. Placed an online order, waited over 1 1/2 hours to get my food. Have usually had generally good experiences here, and don't want to necessarily sink the ship for one bad apple, but food poisoning has to be pointed out when it occurs. They close at 930pm on Friday and we usually get our food an hour or two before, but today we were a little late and arrived at 9pm. The food containers were all empty or close to it, but didn't look bad so we decided to continue with our order. The server informed me he noticed many items low at 8pm, but decided not to make more- this should have been our warning to go elsewhere, I guess. We only ate about half our order (the same orders as usual- and we typically come here once a week) as the food wasn't very good. Almost immediately after we stopped eating, we started having severe stomach pains. My girlfriend is currently throwing up and I still feel queasy, and it's 2 hours later. Will have to find a new place for Mexican food from now on, and suggest you think carefully about coming here as well. read more

I go to this Moe's all the time, ONLY because of location.. they give you the SMALLEST portions!!! If I am even close to the one in Nanuet I always go there.. they are the worst with food portion and give you a dirty look when you try to ask for a normal size portion. It's unfortunate because when this place first opened it was never like this.. My 3 old loves the food but I sometimes convince her to eat something else because of the lousy portions. Bad experience today at Moe's. Sent my 13 year old in to order 2 CHEESE QUESADILLA's. Half way home he discovers he received 2 Chicken quesadillas . Go back to Moe's, to explain what happened. My only gripe is that moe's is a tad expensive. All the toppings n fixings r layed out for your choosing like a subway sandwich shop, but moe's doesn't let you know what is an up charge and what's not. All of a sudden, while paying for my quesadilla, they be like "you got guacamole?" I'm proudly like "yes!" $UPCHARGE oh...well I figured guacamole would be. "You got chicken on your quesadilla?" "...yea" $UPCHARGE eesh, chicken ques was $10 w a drink. But, to be honest , it was a big quesadilla and delicious. And many drinks to choose from. AND free chips and supposed salsa, but they don't tell you to get your own salsa so twice now I have just chips. Lessons for next time. Ask what costs extra and remember the salsa. This place is absolutely horrible. I got a earmuffs bowl and was charged $13.24 for less than a half a bowl. Look up a picture of what a bowl looks like and cut that in half. That what it looks like. I took it back and asked to have new one or have more added. They said u paid for what is there, but we can add more. They just added lettuce and sour cream, they didn't add anything else when asked for more rice and beans. That request was ignored. Very rude. All I asked was for the sauces and guacamole to be on the side. The associate possible manager was so nasty, rude and angry for no reason. He was yelling at me in front of customers. Have never had a bad experience here, unlike most reviewers this is my favorite location! I've been here more than ten times since it has opened and always have left satisfied. All the employees are friendly and my bowl always ends up being very filling. Ive asked for extra rice and extra toppings and it has never been an issue. I prefer Moes over chipotle because the ingredients are fresher, more variety, and more for the money. With every meal you always get a ton of fresh made chips. I also love the salsa bar which provides four different types of fresh made salsa for free. If you're in the area I would try it out for yourself despite the reviews. read more

Northvale My Daughter left her credit card there. When we called to see if they had it the person on the other end said no one speaks English and hung up. When i called up again no one answered the phone. This is the USA and no one speaks English?. How do they take orders? I emailed their corporate office. Then I sent my husband there to see if they had the card. When my husband arrived the manager had the complaint and the card was cut up into little pieces. Manager said that was their policy.
