I agree with another person on the review that this is the best Mexican restaurant in Rockland. It's one of those gems that you could never find and let's not mention the fact that they're connected to a pizzeria so you can actually even order from the pizzeria menu service was great it was In-N-Out definitely we did not stay too long food came out quick. They even have one gentleman that actually sings mariachi definitely a gem to check. It's very cozy and makes you feel like you're at home. read more

Went to Tua Cucina on a Saturday night. Excellent food and great service! Everything we tried was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the portions were generous with plenty of dinner and appetizer choices. Loved the strolling guitarist, such a great voice and a wonderful touch to the evening. It's been a few years since we have been here. We went on a Saturday night and the place was slammed. There was only a few parking spots available. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get seated right away. The waiters were extremely attentive they kept checking in on us. My only complaint was that everything just moved too quick. I barely got halfway through my drink before the food arrived. To start they give you chips and salsa and the chips were crunchy and salty and the salsa was made with fresh ingredients which I loved. They give you a cheese quesadilla on the house which is a nice little appetizer. I had a combination platter with the refried beans and rice. Then they give you a complementary dessert. Everything we had was really good. I had a spicy margarita which didn't have the artificial spice which I hate. When we were leaving, we wanted to have a drink at the bar, but it was completely slammed. There were no seats available. This is a good Mexican local spot that is authentic and reasonable. read more

This was our first time here. My wife wanted Mexican, so we decided to try a new place. Tua Cocina was definitely better than a very popular place we had been to in the past. We liked the atmosphere and the wait staff was very friendly and the service was fast. Along with the good food, you can't go wrong. We will definitely be back. Staff is super friendly and the best part of the meal. This may not be a fair review since a friend said this place is similar to El Bandito. While the concept is the same (give you a cheese tortilla, dessert and offer tequila or 43 shots), the food is not the same. The cheese does not taste like cheese, our shrimp was raw, the drinks tasted like they were pre made and a dinner for 2 that was not very good was over a hundred bucks. read more

I've lived in the area for years and never knew about this place. Obviously a favorate with the locals as it was packed and the servers appeared to know a lot of the tables. Ambiance was authentic if a little worn and in need of a spruce up, very homely and welcoming. Food was good, sangria was excellent (and strong!), the complementary mini quesadillas before the meal And the ice cream / crepe desert was a great touch. Price was extremely reasonable. I had the enchilada, burrito,taco meal this was great I literally could taste everything. From the cilantro to the chicken they have salt & pepper on the table but in my opinion that's just there to be there ppl who use salt & pepper before trying the food HERE you might want to change that up. The service that night was great had a seat and in a quickness food was ready. For me I felt like was in a Mexican home & grandma was doing her thing in the kitchen then reality set in I have to pay which the price was fair I mean the food & the service was that good I wasn't to great about the ambiance this establishment but this is truly a ROCKLAND COUNTY HIDDEN GEM I would recommend this place to anybody & everybody. read more

Come in and try the food and you won't be disappointed! Ernesto is the best host and his staff is very attentive. I always enjoy the ground beef enchiladas and am told that Ernesto comes in everyday with fresh beef to prepare the beef for the enchiladas. The other dishes that my family enjoy are also fresh and even during COVID when many restaurants' quality went down, Ernesto has maintained the high quality in his food and service. The margaritas are also excellent! We always feel like the most important people when we sit down to eat at this restaurant - something that is hard to come by in this day and age! read more

You know when you order a combo at a mexican and all three items are buried in cheese and refried beans ? They have those here as well as other things. But, it's actually good here. The three items buried under the cheese actually taste different and is flavorful here. Where as some of the places I've been to, their food is bland and the three items tastes the same. The service here is....Dynamic, lively and fun. But, I think that can also mean that they may be inconsistent and unreliable. I didn't experience that myself. But, I can see how it could be a problem if they were really busy. I've only been here once. But I liked it enough that I'll drive the extra 15 min to come here for mexican for the foreseeable future. read more

A second review after a first five star review, been living in Rockland county for a long tine and this is a first. Came in for a second time for lunch takeout no issues on the first visit, this time they tell me on the weekends they charge dinner prices. So I am getting the same amount of food , but paying more for it on a sat afternoon, because they charge more on the weekend all day, that is really a poor way to run a business. It was our first time there based on a recommendation from some friends and it did not disappoint. First they give you a nice bowl of chips and salsa which were very fresh and tasty. Then they give you a piece of a cheese quesadilla which was fabulous. We split two combo dinners and everything was top notch. The Margaritas are really tasty too.
