For the steak stack: beans are decent, steaks whatever, chips and salsa are clutch. I've tried justifying Moe's given that they have a top-tier contender a couple miles down the road. Went there recently. My 9 yr old found a rock/pebble in her burrito (kids burrito with black beans, cheese, olives and guacamole); she took a bite of her burrito and felt something hard, she thought it was a stale bean or something. When she took the object out of her mouth we realized it was a pebble. I brought this to the manager. His reaction was off, my impression was that he thought I was making it up/going to ask for free food. He just kept saying, that's odd, I don't know how that would have gotten in there. He didn't offer to replace the burrito. I had to ask. There was barely an apology. This place had been questionable at best and that was the final straw. Very disappointing!! Ordered from hungry button the app doesn't allow for add ons so I added to memo rice bowl with shredded chez corn and sour cream and also ordered a steak quesadilla. My bowl showed up with the rice steak and sour cream. It's not very enjoyable!! And this is not the first time have had problems . I live near UCONN and Moe's has become our "go to" place for take out. I have tried most of the places near or in UCONN and this is one of my favorites. The downside is that they don't deliver, traffic and parking on campus can be a pain at times. But I think its worth it, because the food is always fresh and they use better quality ingredients than most places. Using fresh quality ingredients makes a big difference in the taste of the food and in how you feel after eating! Even when it is busy, it usually doesn't take too long for us to get our dinner. The Taco Salad is my favorite, but I have tried several menu items and was never disappointed! I am glad Moes has come to UCONN!! read more

The male manager here who's a short darker guy is a total scum bag. He's rude and couldn't care less if he makes your order properly. The tacos of course are decent however, just beware the staff, extremely u professional, often when they aren't working they'll just hang out by the register and be irritating, acting as if it's their home and not place of business. read more

Several years ago I used to visit Moe's often. Then the lack of flavor pushed me away. I haven't been back in probably four years. Meanwhile, with only weak chains (and us not having a lot of time before the UCONN game) we snuck in for a quick bite and realized nothing has changed. While the food remains affordable, and the staff is friendly there's still no flavor. The only way flavor is attained is if you douse the burrito or taco in salsa (which is average, too). The chips are terrible. The guacamole has zero flavor and the meats (and chicken) taste bland. Sadly, Moe's remains a below average chain that does nothing to lure us in - except they do have good sweet tea. For value and a quick turnaround on your meal Moe's will do, but don't expect anything more than "yawn" bland food. read more

I really love this location, the food is really good and tastes better than any of the other locations I've been to. The ingredients always taste fresh and I haven't had a bad meal here. However, the staff isn't very friendly. It's hard to hear what they're saying when it's busy and one of the employees started yelling and rolling her eyes when she said I wasn't talking loud enough. I was walking into this moes location one day and was really put off by one of your pregnant employees smoking a cigarette right outside of you establishment, not even trying to hide it. I was so in shock i decided not to even enter the location with such a horrible and off-putting sight. I even went back later and saw the same pregnant woman smoking AGAIN, i am truly disturbed and disgusted with this behavior. I like the food here especially the burrito bowls. The quality of food is decent and the deals are the best, especially on Moe's Monday, where burritos are significantly cheaper. The place is pretty clean and there is always enough places to find a seat in. The only thing I'm iffy about is the portion sizes. It's pretty inconsistent. I love Moe's but this location frustrates me. They always have an attitude there. I went in this week for $5.99 Monday and ordered 4 complicated burritos. They got those right but the check out girl was really rude. There was no one behind me in line but she rushed me through and tried to interact with me as little as possible. When I ordered drinks to go with 2 of my burritos she repeated it and said "99 cents each". I thought the special included drinks so I asked and she said "No." OK I can live with that. As per usual the drink machine was out of ice but at least it had the 2 brands I needed to get. (they usually do not) Then I get home with my order and find out that only 2 of the bags had chips in them. Looking at their web site the special DEFINITELY includes chips. It's like they are always attempting to get out of giving away even a dime's worth of product. I have had times before where they attempted to put more than one burrito in with one bag of chips. When my family was eating their burritos I got the usual complaints about how the fillings are not distributed. I recalled watching the kid that made them plopping scoops of filling on the tortilla like he was making a banana split. Guess I will have to say something next time. There are better locations around but I like to go to this one occasionally for variety even though the parking is crazy and the staff needs some customer service lessons. Sigh. read more

Another weekend, another lunch in downtown Storrs. (Last until September.) First time at Moe's and while the food was filling and tasty, the tables and floors were a bit of a mess. Dog Lane Cafe was cleaner then Moe's, but dollar for dollar and based on the actual food, I preferred Moe's. At Dog Lane staff does a better job at walking around and making sure the tables are clean, I guess that is why their prices are so much higher. read more

I love Moe's and am an avid customer but this time and time again is my least favorite location. The staff is rude and unhelpful and they are very stingy with their servings. And when you ask for more they will make a face and will ignore you. I continue to give this location a chance since I live close but am continually disappointed and insulted by their complete lack of customer service and respect. Additionally the food is always cold because they rush and never let it cook on the griddle for an adequate amount of time. I never feel as though I am getting what I paid for and it's frustrating. Not to mention that the staff always charges me a different amount of money every time I pay (and I always get the same meal). There is no cohesion and it's slowly driving me away as a customer. Even when I have reviewed them (as they ask you to do when you pay) I have never received any condolences from the corporate side. I've been to this Moe's several times because I'm a UConn student who cannot resist a burrito. However, my most recent experience was SO bad that I vow to never return to this place again. I arrived around noon to get a quick "Moe's Monday" burrito before my next class, and the restaurant was not busy. As one worker was putting in my cold toppings (cheese, lettuce, etc), I noticed that he was just grabbing the toppings with his gloved hands, not using utensils. I thought this was absolutely disgusting (and is NOT the first time I've noticed Moe's employees doing this). To make things absolutely worse, I notice when the employee goes to roll my burrito, there's a HUGE hole in the tortilla. He blatantly ignores it, and then just covers up my burrito with some foil. BUT THEN, he doesn't even fully wrap my entire burrito in the foil, he legitimately just covers up the area that has the hole with foil and throws it in my chip bag. I was in a rush so I didn't complain and ask him to remake my burrito (I thought it might be salvageable), but boy do I regret that. When I got back to my class, my burrito was a sopping wet mess. From the tortilla hole, the contents had leaked into my chip bag, causing my chips to get soggy AND my bag to get soggy and create a hole! I was astonished. I threw away three fourths of the burrito and all my chips, so I basically spent $7 on nothing. I promise you, I'm an easy going customer who understands that working a busy lunch shift at a restaurant on a college campus can be hard, but this was beyond disappointing to see how little the employees cared about giving me a decent lunch that I'd paid for. I will never go here again- I'll be getting all my burritos on the campus food court (which is much busier than Moe's but does a better job!) read more

Worst Moe's location I've ever been to. I'm a regular at Moe's and normally go to the Vernon location where everyone is very nice. However, I stopped at the Storrs location on my lunch break and did not have a pleasant experience. From being a regular, I have a $10 credit on a Moe's application that I planned to use since I did not have much money to spend this day. The man who was the cashier told me that there was nothing they could really do because their computers were down and said he would talk to his manager. The woman behind the counter was apparently the manager and seemed very annoyed by the cashier asking her if there was anything they could do for me and she rolled her eyes and seemed annoyed. The man at the cashier apologized and was very sweet. I was just disgusted by this stores ability to not be able to compensate with their customers. At my job, if there is an error with our technology, we always try to find a solution for the customer. The manager at this location had no compassion and did not care to help. The only reason I am giving this review two stars instead of one is because the man at the cash register was polite. In my opinion, he should be the manager over the woman. read more
