My husband and I went into the Terre Haute, Indiana, Moe's for the first time this evening on our way to St. Louis. We ordered two bowls. As mine was being made, I asked the girl about the Moe's sauce. She replied that it wasn't spicy so I said I would try it. As she was putting quite a bit on, I put my hand up and said "Whoa, that's enough." Then we paid for it and sat down hoping it would be delicious. I tried it and it was a lot of sauce and too spicy for my liking, I kept trying to eat it but had to drink water after each bite for it not to be too hot/spicy for me. After about ten bites. I told my husband, I'm done. I just don't like it. He said, "Let me see if they'll remake it. It's not your fault she put so much on especially when you asked if the sauce was spicy and she told you no, it wasn't. The girl who made it wasn't up there still, but John the shift leader was. Keith told him, "This is too spicy for her to eat, Is there any way to have it remade?" John looked at him coldly and said, "No." Keith said, "Are you kidding me?" John said, "You shouldn't have asked for that much sauce." Keith said, "She didn't. She even said whoa, that's enough,." John said, "I'm not remaking it." Keith said, "You're attitude is worst than than the sauce." Then I went up and got Keith telling him we just won't come back, he couldn't care less, just come eat your food. I have never asked to have a meal remade. I wasn't trying to be wasteful. Even if John wasn't able to remake it, he didn't have to be rude in his tone and facial expressions. He clearly hasn't been trained well by his manager. We will not ever return to a Moe's. Hopefully this employee just isn't a good representation of the company. I've never actually been to a Moe's, but when running some errands in the Haute I decided to run by and grab a salad for dinner. Really impressed that I was greeted upon entry and all staff were wearing their masks appropriately (as well as gloves). The restaurant was very clean, as well. The young man who made my salad explained the options and made me a HUGE vegetarian taco "close talker" salad. The free chips were a nice touch, as well. As far as fast-ish food goes, it was really good! My salad tasted fresh and the guacamole I ordered on the side was a nice snack the next day with the chips. I used to love this place but the last time I was here was the last time. Everything was dried out and just nasty. The free salsa came in a tiny container that wouldn't even cover 2 chips! They used to have a salsa bar with different levels of heat, but they haven't reopened it, I prefer really hot! $18 for a gross burrito and a cup of guacamole was the last straw. It's been a while since I've visited a Moe's and I thought it would be a typical visit but they didn't want to give more than half scoops of rice and beans and veggies. Then when I got to the register, he didn't even tell me the total and reached for my card. I sat and ate my meal then the gentleman began to sweep, clean tables, and spray areas. Then, when I asked for salsa for my burrito, they tried charging me an extra $2.00 for a tiny cup. No, thank you! Other places just give you salsa with your food. Welcome to Moe's! That's what you'll hear as you walk through the doors to this Tex-Mex joint. We went on a Saturday about noon. It wasn't too crowded but was starting to fill up as we left. My first impression was good: the colors are bright and vibrant, everything was clean, and the staff was very friendly. The menu and concept is similar to Chipotle (which I'm a big fan of). All of the menu items are names taken from movies and TV, kinda cool. Art Vandalay anyone? I tried the "Wrong Doug." Imagine a Crunchwrap Supreme from Taco Bell...on crack. It was pretty darn good. I opted for one with chicken and a ton of veggies: mushrooms, onions, peppers, lettuce, etc. This should come with a disclaimer though: it was messy. Then again, I'm the one that told them to put the garden on it. Even though I used a small tree's worth of napkins, I still give it 2 thumbs up. Every meal comes with free chips. How can you hate that? I also tried the queso cheese dip. Dude, it's like liquid awesomeness. That's all I have to say about that. There's a ton of options for drinks. They had the Coke freestyle machine so you can get your Sprite-peach-vanilla-pomegranate-lilac nectar drink on if that's your thang. We had 2 kids in tow also. They seemed to like it. We ate outside as the weather was perfect. The price seemed reasonable and the quality of food was great. The staff treated us great and we really had a good experience. Overall it was a great lunch! I give it one star because that's as low as it goes. I travel all over east United States. Every town I've worked in I've ate at Moe's Southwestern Grill. The one here in Terre Haute Indiana has got to be absolutely the worst I've ever experienced in my life. Normally a big fan of Moe's but tonight's order was a complete disaster. We spent $49.36 and got short changed in so many ways. We payed for double meat on 3 orders and got what you see in the pics below. We got chips for each order but no salsa (4 meals - no salsa). We ordered a kid meal and they failed to include the apple juice and cookie. This is way to much money for that that kind of service and product we received. We had Moe's cater my sister's wedding tonight. The food was amazing!! BUT we were in the middle of the CEREMONY when a server came up to the father of the groom in the front row and asked him to sign the bill and asked him to leave a tip.
