Pretty standard Mexican fare. I had a chicken burrito with sautéed mushrooms, green peppers and onions. It had cheese sauce on it with guacamole and sour cream on the side. It was pretty darn good. The chips and salsa were also pretty good. The staff was attentive. And, they had a healthy list of daily specials. I would definitely stop here again. read more

The food was great , my husband and I are truckers and are always looking for somewhere worth sitting down at . Ordered nachos fajitas and it was excellent . Tacos are great too. We ate here on Memorial Day. Service was fair, but the Beef Fajitas I ordered were terrible. They were way over cooked and essentially inedible. We informed the server but no action was taken. They did not take anything off the bill. They did not offer to bring anything in its place. We will definitely NOT eat here again. Do not eat here. read more

I've eaten here several times, and I'm surprised to see all the low-star reviews. I have never had a bad experience here, which is highly unusual for me. The food has always been good, plenty of parking (although the lot is a bit tight), they have a full bar, friendly help, and plenty of space. I've never seen the place full, though; not even on a weekend evening. It's on the right side of 3rd street just before Texas Roadhouse, so for left turns, getting in and out can be a pain. But no more so than Roadhouse or any other place on that side of 3rd. Granted, the food is the same Mexican food that you get at any Mexican place. We have all realized, I think, that they all use the same vendors. But it's still good. The drinks are good, too - and actually have alcohol in them, and look like the pictures on the menu! I've never seen the place dirty, either. The restrooms are fine, could use a paint job. My only complaint with them is that it's dark inside. Spend some money on light bulbs. It's not romantic or trendy. It's dark, and you can't see. It's possible (even probable) that you're going to have a bad experience anywhere you go, and I have to wonder if this place established itself as "not good" some time ago? For those that have had a one-time bad go there, I'd recommend giving them another chance. It certainly beats having to have a reservation just to get in at one of these overrated steak houses. read more

Nice, comfortable, clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Great food. EL Mocate with cheese sauce was delicious. Hubby got the Pollo Tapatio and reports it is very delicious. Gave the chorqueso a try and really enjoyed the appetizer. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. read more

Not okay, made my boyfriend throw up , servers were on their phones and talking the entire time, bathrooms are not clean and nasty, the workers were eating on the job, the chips and salsa was nasty, the food was a little cold when it came out. I love Mexican cuisine, but I wasn't impressed with much at this location. The margaritas were poured from a plastic jug that looked like it was repurposed from my dad's garage and there were multiple chairs broken at the bar, where I tried to sit. On the plus side, the bar tender and host that I interacted with were hospitable and my nachos were great- very filling! If you do decide to visit, I'd recommend them. Just don't order a margarita on the rocks...yuck! read more

Please note that when people go out for Mexican, they actually want REAL Mexican food. Not some watered down white version. Please, Would you serve your Abuela this? I think not. Taco Tuesday was a bust. I ordered chicken tacos and they were very wet/drippy and served on a flour tortilla. BLAH. I am from California, so I am used to real Mexican style tacos. Served on corn tortillas with meat Pico de Gillo and maybe some queso freco. My husband had the El Presidente platter, which looks impressive but, The ground beef enchilada tasted like dog food. And whatever they put on top tasted like mustard. The service was just OK. We never got checked on after we got our food to see if everything was good. I really would have like some salsa, as my husband hogged it all up. At least it was edible, as were the rice and beans. read more

If there was a rating of less than one star, I would give it. We waited forever for someone to come to our table. Then waiting nearly 30 minutes for drinks (one water, one skinny margarita, one bottle of beer). One skillet of fajitas came out right away. I was trying to wait for the other food but the wait staff said it would be a while. As it turns out, my meal was completely finished by the time the other two meals arrived. How embarrassing. We would have gladly waited for all food to be prepared together so that we could eat together. My skinny margarita had no taste at all-just a cloudy, milky mixture that tasted odd. The fajitas were in a giant, measurable puddle of greasy oil-very unlike any other fajitas I've ever had. Such a disappointment. Fajitas were also completely unseasoned-just a pile of hot food (at least it was hot?). Most importantly, during these staffing shortages I understand some issues. However, the restaurant was less than 50% full which really negates any Covid excuses for such poor food quality and service. read more

I was absolutely livid with this restaurant yesterday, a couple friends and I decided to eat here after the first time since the whole covid crisis. Anyway, we sat down and got our drinks, then waited forever to have our order taken, there were four of us two on each ticket, well after waiting about an hour they finally come with 2 plates, 1 from each ticket. The 2 plates they brought were cold, dry, and one had a dead gnat in it (that we did not see at first because the girl was trying to be polite and wait for everyone to have theolir food before eating, we waited another 20 minutes or so before I finally say, " srew it, we are leaving we changed our minds." Now on the way out the 2 girl that were gonna pay told the manager or whoever he was that they would pay for the drinks and cheese dip we ate, and I walked outside, so i did not lose my cool, because i felt they should've just kept walking. I wait outside for a few minutes and then when the girls come out, they were upset and said that the man was "throwing a fit" because he had to "pay for that food now" and charged them for the whole meal! Mind you we only ate 1 basket of chips, 1 large cheese dip,had 1 refill on drinks, one girl took like 3 bites of her order, and we waited for 1 1/2 hours to be brought only half of each order and it was disgusting. This was absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. To make 2 young ladies feel like they had no choice but to pay for bull****, because your restaurant service was crappy is unbelievable and I will not recommend anyone go to this restaurant unless you are going to iust have a place to sit and maybe eat a few tortilla chips. I believe those girls deserve a full refund and an apology. We did keep the receipts as well. read more

Went the other day with a friend. The waiter was very unprofessional and creepy. He sat in the booth next to my friend and started asking her personal questions (name, where she worked, what days she worked, where she lived, if she was single, etc.). The entire serving of rice had a small dish sitting on it, which was holding the pico, sour cream, etc. May not seem like a big deal to others, but I definitely did not want any rice seeing that. We stopped here on our way to St Louis. Pretty typical Mexican. Decor was nice and service was very quick. I had a lunch portion of a shrimp meal and it was huge. Husband got a taco and 2 enchiladas and enjoyed them. Side of guacamole was a little expensive but otherwise prices were reasonable. read more

Seated next to a low hanging light fixture, got up to go to the restroom and proceeded to smack my forehead into the light, which resulted in a knot and a cut.
