I really liked this restaurant, good Mexican food! Chips and salsa were good. Ordered the queso fundido and it was a big surprise. Other places I've had that the dish is probably 10% chorizo and 90% white cheese sauce, and here it was the other way around and cost less than $8! The entrees were ok. I enjoyed my burrito. My wife got cheese enchiladas which were ok but didn't care for the rice. Service was fine. Got our drinks refilled without asking and one dish was not made right and it was quickly fixed. Ordering out: orders will not come the way you want and when you call in and try to tell them order was wrong they will talk bad about you in Spanish to the other workers. Service is terrible. All the Real Hacienda restaurants in Terre Haute are the same. Terrible service. If you're wait staff is not going to check on customers or refill their drinks or offer to-go boxes, at least give them the check when your bring the food so they can leave when they get done eating instead of being held hostage trying to find their waiters. Waitstaff has always been the unfriendliest bunch of people. The woman who brings the chips and salsa has had a stick up her bum for years. Food has no flavor to speak of. We only eat here as a sort of emergency if we've been busy all day in Terre Haute and need sustenance, but luckily that's only a few times a year. If there were better options in Terre Haute, we'd eat elsewhere. The food quality doesn't reflect their price increases. read more

Came here for dinner around 6:30 PM on a Thursday. This place is pretty popular and good for large groups! Service was good and fast. I ordered the Reynaldo's burrito with strip steak, which comes with sauce on top and lettuce, sour cream, pico, and guacamole. I wasn't a huge fan my entree. The cheese and burrito sauce made the tortilla soggy and were overwhelming. I'd prefer if the sauce were on the side. The pico was great but there was barely any. The guacamole tasted a little watered down. I enjoyed the steak in the tortilla at least. Might come back and try something less cheesy in the menu. read more

This is hands down the best Mexican place in Terre Haute. I don't understand some of the bad reviews. I usually make it a point to have lunch here once every couple weeks. When I go any longer than 2 weeks without it, I start having withdraws. ITS THAT GOOD! They have come a long way since they first opened. You can tell they are doing well and get good business because they have done a lot of remodeling since they first opened. The parking lot is usually packed from 12-1pm on the weekdays. When you first sit down, warm chips and fresh salsa are brought to your table for you to enjoy while you look over the menu. My sister always gets a side of their cheese sauce. Its the BEST cheese sauce! I don't know where this white cheese comes from, but I really dont care. Its Delicious!! Their service is ridiculously fast and the meals are cheap! I get an hour lunch break and I always have 30 min left by the time im done eating to relax and chat with my lunch partner that day. Most meals are around $6-$7 and endless chips & salsa are sure to leave you satisfied no matter what kind of appetite you have for the day. For Lunch I would recommend the Chicken Chimichanga, Reynaldos Burrito (sp?), or any of the Quesadillas. Their rice is excellent so I usually try to find a meal that includes the rice or I add it on to my order. I know several people who order "cheesy rice" and its just a side of rice with the awesome cheese sauce poured over it. That is pretty tasty too. For dinner I would recommend the Armandos Brothers Pizza or Fajitas! These are not usually good lunch items because you will usually have leftovers and since I go straight back to work, I never have anywhere to put my leftovers. The Armandos Bros Pizza has chicken, steak, and shrimp along with onions and peppers and other deliciousness all squeezed between two tortillas. Its like a slice of heaven. There are several of these "Real Ha's" around town and they are all wonderful. I personally like this one best because of the cleanliness and service. read more

If you want to eat at a place that has tables that wobbles, booth seats that are torn, bathrooms that are filthy and the service is very slow, then this is the place for you. We entered and were the only customers in the place. We ordered and shortly after that another couple came in. The waiter seemed to know them and took their order. They received their food and were finished eating before we received our food which was warm, not hot. After eating some of his Elcamino Reel fajitas at work Wed around 1130am, by 2pm he was sick. He has been sick now for 1 week! This is a place that you HAVE to go to while in Terre Haute. I've been going to the restaurant on 3rd Street since it opened, and I was about 8-9. Now 20 and attending college out of town, this is a staple place to eat whenever I'm home. In fact, with Winter Break approaching, I'll probably be in a chair eating by Saturday. I know this is definitely TexMex, considering the Midwest definitely isn't known for holding spice, but trust me when I say that there are dishes for anyone here. I normally get the Enchiladas Locas, and every time I've had it it's tasted fantastic. The cheese dip also is to DIE FOR. Can't go without it! The interrior has definitely changed over time; I assure you it looks a lot different than it did ten years ago and is constantly getting upgrades. The best thing about these restaurants (there's 3 in Terre Haute; One is by the Mall on 3rd Street, another on Wabash, and then the other is on State Rd 46 by the Walmart) is the staff. I grew up with these guys (and now ladies). Ali, the manager on 3rd Street, is seriously one of the best people ever. He knows all of our names, remembers recent events with our family, and is so attentive, funny and kind. Plus the rest of the staff knows us, and they have brought us our meals without us having to order; that's how often we go there. They're so fun and you can tell they care about their jobs, and I do believe a majority of them have worked there since the place opened. Other standouts are Meme and Oswaldo, if you get them then you're in for exceptional service, and probably a laugh. They're all so great! The service here is remarkably quick. 'Complimentary' chips and salsa are at your table within a couple of minutes of being seated. The chips and salsa seemed fresh and have tasted pretty good whenever I have come here. The waiters are generally polite and keep an eye out for anything you may need. Walking into this place actually makes you feel like you're in for a very authentic experience. The decor, the music, the Hispanic waiters and the fact that the TVs are tuned to ESPN Deportes all come together to add a unique Mexican touch. Unfortunately, the biggest let down is the food. The food is occasionally laden with grease and contains copious amounts of cheese and/or sauce that seems to have come directly out of a tin/bottle. With that being said, overall, the food is not terrible. I obviously gave this place four stars for a reason. I think that this is still the go to place for Mexican food in Terre Haute. The entrees here are only slightly above average at best. However, the feeling you have after you consume the food and all the other aforementioned unique touches make this the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Terre Haute. read more
