VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I can't believe it! Tonight after a long day working, I decided go for a salad. My daughter and I were the only ones at the moment. The waitress takes the orders for drinks, and 10 minutes later she came with them. I asked how much it was to add steak to the REGULAR chef salad (14.95) , and she said 5 dollars more, total 19.95. I asked also for Popeye salad, and I asked if I could change the chicken for the steak, how much is going to be, and she said, "it's a lot more" , and I said ok, bring me the REGULAR Chef salad, and add the steak please. She said ok. After 45 min. She brings me the salad, I was so starving, and immediately I started eating, (steak was cold)but doesn't have ANY Chef salad stuff! Just spinach , lettuce, calamata, and the steak!!! After like 10 more min, trying to get her attention, she came to the table, and I asked what happened with the rest of the stuff, she said "oh if we put the rest, it's more money" and I said: that's why I asked you before! how much is ADD the steak? she started yelling me, completely disrespectful , and I was trying to explain her... she yelling like crazy, and then she called the chef, who speaks Spanish like me, and she said you can talked with him in Spanish... "I'm going cause I don't want talk with you!!!!!!" ... the guy very respectful, was trying to control her, cause she was yelling to me... This diner overall is probably the least desirable of the diners around our area. It is usually our last choice IF we need to choice a place for breakfast. The food overall is bland and not fresh. The service although is good and the decor is nice. Just that every time I have had a meal at this establishment I tend to leave unsatisfied. The place is good, but needs work. The waitress had very little patience for us. She wanted to rush us with ordering (the place was empty). We ordered first for my son. We did it right away because he was hungry. She immediately wanted to take our drink order, but I said I needed a minute. She almost bark at me. I ordered Greek salad with gyro meat. The portion was big, and the salad was good. It would have been perfect if I hadn't had to re chop the lettuce. The pieces were big, the salad was difficult to eat. The meat was delicious, but I almost cracked a tooth with the olives. Pitted olives would have been better (just a suggestion). My husband ordered lamb. He says it was just ok. The portion was on the smaller size. We ordered chicken fingers for my son. He liked it and they looked good, not frozen. We have to return our wine, a fly landed on it. We couldn't even talk without having bugs flying around us. They need to solve this. Maybe their plants are attracting bugs. I'm not sure if we will comeback. read more

This is horrible. The sugar free syrup for my Hallah bread French toast was a stream of horrible chocolate. Couldn't eat it. Not paying for it. And their home fries and terrible. I've been living in Florida for a little bit and down there they don't have anything like these diners. But to come back and eat here was a delight. I got the omelet and it was just great. Everybody loved their food, the service was quick and attentive, the menu was HUGE and so exciting. Only downside is it's super busy so parking was a nightmare and after a while they had to kick ppl out of their booths to make more room!! But anyways, definitely worth it for the food. read more

What a terrible experience. Went there today for lunch with my family. After we were seated, it took about 10 minutes before someone even came by for a drink order. It's a holiday and it was crowded so I get that service might be slower than normal. But after our drink order was placed it took about another 10 minutes to get the drinks (an iced tea, an orange juice and 2 chocolate milks). So then we ordered. 20 minutes go by, then 30. About 35 minutes later we get half of our order...a short stack of pancakes and a breakfast burrito. We were told that they're still working on the kids mac and cheese (mind you we were also still waiting on scrambled eggs). My pancakes were cold as was my husband's breakfast burrito. I sent back the pancakes. When she finally came back with the mac and cheese and the scrambled eggs for my kids she asked if I wanted her to heat my pancakes up. I said no, I'd like fresh, hot pancakes and she basically told me that I would have to wait a long time so I just canceled the order. So now, my husband got a cold breakfast burrito (the toast he ordered with it never came), I never got food because I knew ordering anything was going to take another 30 minutes, and my kids after waiting for 45 minutes to eat had nothing good to say about the food. We went to talk to the owner/manager and she could care less. I'm not one that normally reviews restaurants but I thought it was important that people know that this diner has terrible service, mediocre food (at best) and management that doesn't care in the slightest about its customers. I had the absolute worst service that I have ever had. It was disgraceful. I called my order in about 45 minutes ahead of time. When I got there, they had no idea how to use the register or what I ordered. They asked me to repeat my order about 5 times. After repeating my order, I waited there for about an additional 35 - 40 minutes before I was given any word on the status of my order. Finally, after waiting for almost another 45 minutes, my order came out. It was the greatest feeling ever! When I got home, I opened the bag. Not only was there three items missing, but the items that I did have, were about 1/4 full and the portions were pathetically skimpy. It was pathetic and piety. What a shame! We went there today for Mothers Day. The service was great, the water cold, the food nearly in eatable . Made the mistake of ordering rib eye steak...It was maybe 1/4 inch thick, dry, grainy, no flavor. My husband ordered a hamburger, medium, it was bounce able, not a bit of juice. Another ordered a sea food ( crab meat) angel hair pasta in hollandaise sauce. It was fake crab, regular spaghetti, and the sauce was yellow, but seemed made from Elmers glue. We told her how many people and that we were expecting a few more and she said well you are gonna have to wait keep in mind it was 10pm no one was in the diner and they have never sone that before. Service people are good. Food is not great as far as diner's go. I ordered takeout hamburger deluxe last night and it was dry and over cooked. I felt especially burnt ( no pun intended) because my order came to $9.93 and the minimum for debit cards is $10.00 so I had to add .07 cents so I could use my debit card! I also asked if they could charge an additional $10 on my card and give me a $10 bill because I needed cash and didn't have time to go to bank. They refused. I usually have avoided this place over the years because the owner seems a bit disingenuous, kind of like " Hi, how are you, now give me your money..." Came here for a quick breakfast on a Thursday morning - ordered a belgium waffle and a cup of coffee. I think about $7.35 -so there is a breakfast special that runs during the week - till about 10:30am - right on menu. Waffle was ok - gave me a slice - yes one slice of butter - not even in a packet. Waffle was basic not great. Coffee fine. I was with another that also got a breakfast sandwich that was off the menu. When I get the bill - it has the coffee as extra. So when I went to pay - I inquired and the older lady behind the register = was not so nice when I asked about the breakfast special - oh its just a couple of cents off - (no way coffee was over $2.00) and she was just not nice about it - so she said she would take it off - I did not ask for the second one - as she was just nasty about it. Really its on your menu - breakfast special - mon - fri and the times - why would your waiter add it on? Why have an attitude about it? So long story short - was not a great breakfast and not bothering to go back - many more diners in the area to get a better meal, less money and smiles read more

I don't know why we continue to come here and I think this past visit was the last straw. If I wanted to pay $55+ dollars for food I would have gone somewhere a lot nicer...it's a DINER for crying out loud! Hubby and I each got a side salad to start (big salad, def. could have split) and had a decent mix of greens, but other than cucumbers and some sad cherry tomatoes, there was nothing else to it. He had the tuna melt and I had a turkey burger deluxe for dinner. The tuna melt was nothing special, two slices of toast, scoop of tuna on each with half melted cheese. The turkey burger was hot and cooked, but then again it's kind of hard to mess this up. Waffle fries were okay, some were crispy, some were not. When the bill came we just looked at each other. For two salads, two subpar meals, 2 drinks and a slice of luke warm, congealed apple pie I should not have paid $55+ and that's WITHOUT tip at a DINER (and no leftovers). The service is fine and the Diner is big enough that there isn't a wait, but I think this was our last visit...better off at Pastels or the Westchester Diner. Our experience at this diner was horrendous. After our late afternoon movie, we decided to stop by this diner for a late dinner. There were a handful of other tables occupied but not nearly enough to be considered busy. We were seated and the waitress told us she would go and get us our waters and menus. About twenty minutes passed and we were handed a menu. We were literally handed a single menu for our table of three and we were told there were no other menus which is completely ridiculous. We then placed our order after reminding the waitress about the waters that we had asked for twenty minutes prior. Finally about ten minutes later we were given a single glass of water. It took the waitress another five minutes to retrieve another two glasses. Our food finally came out around the same time as well. Now, in my opinion, the food was, all in all, decent. The steak fries and waffle fries were good. The burger was mediocre, the chicken fingers were okay. The biggest gripe I had was with the portions and price. In my opinion, in what we had ordered, the portions were unusually small and the prices for almost everything on their menu are much too high compared to other diners I have been to -- I would say at least 2-4 dollars more per item. This was the most terrible service I have ever received from any restaurant or diner that I have ever dined in. I'm not sure what's going on with management but they seem extremely unorganized and the staff is not trained well at all. Went here for a late bite. Ordered potato skins. Yup. I know. How can you mess that up? They did. Tasted like old shoes. I told the waitress but she disagreed with me. Okay. At 12:30 in the morning I didn't go into Mohegan Diner expecting much. All I wanted was a late night bite to eat as I made my way home from visiting a friend who lives an hour away. While I was immediately seated, I found I waited a while before the waitress walked up and asked, "What do you want to drink?" Call me old fashioned but I like to be greeted before we get right down to business. You know, "Hello, how are you today? My name is _____." The service started out poorly, but I asked for my Coke, and when she returned with a Pepsi, I ordered a medium rare hamburger. Disclaimer: I love a rare hamburger. I did not order rare because I did not have any experience with the establishment, and I decided to move up to med-rare rather than risk any food borne illness. After a short wait, the waitress brought the food to my table and asked if I wanted anything else. I had not even had a chance to touch the plate yet. "Umm, no, I guess I'm okay," thinking she meant dessert. "Can I close you out? I dealt with a lot if crazies tonight. I even tweeted about it." Really? You feel the need to tell me about your social networking on the job habits? So I put my card on the table and pondered what should I tip. Of course a tip is usually based on service and I had not even had a bite of my food yet. How could I possibly rate the quality of service? She took it and left, while I applied ketchup to the burger and replaced the bun. Weird fact: the bun I put on top was the bottom bun - the burger had been plated upside down. Okay... not a deal breaker, but unusual, nonetheless. When she returned my card I figured a good tip would insure decent service. I left 22% which is common for me. Unfortunately it was also foolish of me. The waitress never came back to refill my $2.65 glass of Pepsi (she did not inform me that they did not serve Coke when I ordered it), even though it was placed empty at the end of the table. She passed by my empty glass twice. A second server passed by 3 times, no one saw fit to offer a refill. Other staff ran through the dining room shouting, "Alex! Alex! Where is Alex?" Alex's presence (or lack thereof) seems to have been more essential than providing basic food service. She never checked on the quality of my food: it was unacceptable. The meat was not cooked to order. It was one of those frozen patties that one just cooks from frozen. However, it was plain to see that it had been left to thaw out for hours, and then had been just dropped on a grill. The center was red, it was dripping, and it had the consistency of paste. Not even cooked to rare, let alone med-rare. The lettuce with the burger was the cored out center of a head of iceberg lettuce. I noticed when I applied ketchup to the plate, it was not red. It was a deep, rich brown. I thought it was barbecue sauce, but it was simply old ketchup which had been changed from bottle to bottle. I decided immediately to post a review of the lousy food and service. So here I am in the parking lot, sharing the story with you. I am struck by the irony: I dealt with a lot of crazies tonight. Went there today with a friend for lunch, he ordered lox & Bagel special and coffee(14.95 crappy fish, not Nova or lox, but some second rate smoked salmon, okay I know it's a diner) I ordered a Greek salad, replace the small amount of greens and mostly Iceberg lettuce with Romaine. My friend's dish came out, he was almost done when the waiter brought my salad (opps, rewind, the waiter was chatting with another waiter and I had to call over to get him to take our order) my salad was ALL iceberg and when I mentioned it I was told by the waiter that it was not his fault, I politely said you brought it to the table it's your fault. (btw no coffee yet!) I told him to take it back don't charge me as my friend was just about finished. The waiter said, you have a gorgeous day too (in a very sarcastic fashion, REALLY ! ! ! ) I mentioned all this to the owner, and also said; "Do you ever read your Yelp reviews? He ignored that and apparently for good reason, I should have listened to all of you also) Needless to say food is terrible with worse service, NEVER GOING BACK! Ah, The Mohegan Diner.....the diner of my high school/first few post-high school years. I remember when it opened in 1990 or so, and it hasn't changed much. Service is ok, sometimes a little grumpy, but I can understand if you're dealing with certain crowds at certain times of the day (I've been there at times when obnoxious youngsters had a little too much to drink on amateur night and were getting stupid, so be wary of late night visits). Could not be more disappointed today as we are trying to support our local restaurants during this time of COVID-19. We have been customers of the diner for more than 25 years and have been happy for breakfast, lunch and dinner during this time. Today I ordered for take out, a medium rare burger, which came over well done. I specifically requested coleslaw and pickle and they were left out. I was the only person there when I arrived to pick up so am completely flabbergasted at the lack of attention to my order. I made sure to leave a hefty cash tip and certainly regret that. The food and staff is very good. Service is fine. Nice people, always busy. My only issue is the dishes and coffee cups... they are very often chipped, old and really unappealing. The coffee mug must hold only 5 oz if that, and are a billboard of advertising. The plates are so large your portion looks like you're in a nouveau riche Cafe and you only get a piece of sprout and a radish. The flatware is just a step above plastic. I sincerely love this diner and for the past 17 years have many fond memories...many good times and meals...but they really need to step up a bit...and one more thing, if I may, stop charging extra for a slice of onion... that's just offensive and pathetic. read more

My family went to the movies and we wound up having a late bite at this diner. First I would like to start with the fact that we had always eaten here with overall good results. The food has always been good, the service not bad, the owner is usually at the register, and she is so sweet that you leave there with a smile on your face and the thought to come back again. Last night was not at all like that. When we walked in and passed the employees, who were all sitting and standing at the counter, turned to look at us as we went to our booth. The expression on their faces said that they were not into having more people to take care of. Our waitress was a very young girl who sported an attitude that would make you want to walk out before ordering. WE decided to overlook that and dismissed it due to our need to satisfy our hunger. She took our drink orders, and one of us had ordered one tonic water. She did not know what tonic water was, and brought out a gin and tonic. Being that she disappeared and had not emerged for quite some time, I had to get out of my seat to have the guy who made the drink correct the error. When she saw that I did the self serve thing, she copped an even bigger attitude. Then we waited and waited, and one salad came out. Then we waited and waited, and no server came by even to offer us a refill on any of our beverages. When the food finally came out everyone's meal was dry, tasteless and overcooked. No one offered any drinks or asked if we needed anything. Her mom worked there also, and when I got up to inquire about whether or not the stuffing on the mushrooms was mixed with seafood, (My husband is deathly allergic) both the server and her mother looked over and the mother asked in a terse tone, "What is wrong now?" We finished our meal. and one of us wanted to order the dessert that came with their meal, the server was not jumping through hoops to offer it or take the order. Friends and I went out for lunch, before out-of-town relative went back home. As we looked over the menu, I asked the waiter the soup of the day. He responded, but neglected to tell us the day's specials. (I saw the specials as we were leaving the diner). I ordered the veggie wrap, my husband ordered the turkey club, a chicken soulvaki and lamb gyro platter was also ordered. The two platters looked appetizing. The veggie wrapped was described as grilled mushrooms, carrots, zucchini and onions. The wrap did not look appetizing at all. When I bit into it I had a mouth full of pepper and onions....huh, where's the veggies? So I started taking it apart. They used canned mushrooms and I did not see any other veggies besides massive amounts of onions and peppers. Really? When we left the cashier had the audacity to ask if we left a tip.
