Don't know how he was in the past, but the owner always act like he don't care about his costumers. Feels like he's forced to sell pizza. One of the only places in Cortlandt/Mohegan/Yorktown that is open past 10pm besides the diners and Mickey Deez. I vaguely remember coming here once post drink session and thanks to my sister for being DD. My drunker-in-crime suggested here and I was like "whaa?? that hole next to shelly's weight loss LA center?!" Ok why not. All I know is that at 12am we had a mediocre mushroom pizza and I swear he put magic shrooms on there b/c they were not of a genus species that I could recognize. Dudes were coming in and getting ciggs and other assorted under the table items which perplexed me even in my lush-life-loving state of mind. Owner is hardcore old-school mafiosa, wish he could be, type. He asks everyone if they are a homosexual. Yells at everyone about everything. I think thats just his voice? Place is small as all hell and I wouldnt use a bathroom here-god only knows if he has plumbing. Overall it was an interesting excursion in my own little town. I used to think their pizza was average, but after going to college in Maryland and moving to a world where pizzas are very different (in a bad way), I love and appreciate Napoli. Their pizzas just taste fresher and more homemade then fast-food and other local pizzerias. I love their lasagna and eggplant Parmesan too, I would actually take them over a pizza! My only problem with them is they always saw 20 minutes, and on occasion, they have forgotten to make my pizza, or have taken an extra 20 minutes. So don't expect your food to be ready in time. Also, they have burnt my pizza a few times which is disappointing. The old man who works there can be kind of creepy. Like overly friendly creepy. But he is a nice little Italian man with his thick accent! read more

Although a bit of a dingy hole-in-the-wall, this is some of the best pizza I've ever had in Westchester, and I've tried dozens of places, including all of the "famous" spots, like Sal's in Mamaroneck, for one. Both the regular and Sicilian pies are light yet perfectly crispy, with solid sauce and cheese. The crust is the star of the show, though. A star was deducted because the bathroom is straight up disgusting, and the owner/chef is annoyingly cheap about handing out napkins, which he literally hides behind the counter. This wouldn't be a big deal if the pizza was a little less oily and didn't need some dabbing before eating it. You may want to plan a trip here soon, though, because Napoli's elderly owner looks as if he may pass on before year's end. Lord willing, I hope this isn't the case...I want more of that pizza! read more

Great pizza. I've had it all. Sal's in Mamaroneck, Nicky's and Leonardo's in Larchmont, Pepe's in Yonkers, Grimaldi's and all the others in the city. This place is GOOD. The pizza reminds me of New Park Pizza in Howard Beach. Its a great slice. The cheese is really excellent quality. The crust is salty and very crisp. I really enjoy the sauce. PIzza is a very subjective food, which is why there's one on every corner in the tri-state area. In my humble opinion, Tony "bossman" makes the best pizza around! Sure, he's stingy with napkins. Sure, there's no paper towels in the bathroom. Sure, the drinks are overpriced. Sure, he likes to cram as many slices as he can into a paper bag when you get them to go...but I don't care. These are all the little things that make Napoli's....well, Napoli's. As I said there are so many pizza places in the area, most of them are variations of the same thing. Napoli's really is a unique slice. I've never eaten any pizza that's anything like it. The crust is nice and dense, the sauce is seasoned perfectly, not too much cheese...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Make sure you ask for it well done! I've been coming here my entire life. The owners have known me since I was a child and the fact that I'm 30 and they still greet me by name and ask about my family is amazing. Yes, the place is a dive and there's usually some shady activity taking place. I don't care! The pizza is great and they will make it to your liking. If you ask for something they will try and make it for you. The baked ziit is phenomenal. Try it!! I now live about 40 minutes away, but when I'm in Mohegan I never fail to stop in for a slice or two. Usually two so I can eat one the next day. I practically grew up with Tony and Joe, starting back in their Bill's pizza days. Well, more to the point, they watched me grow up. Practically every night of my teenage years ended there at 1 or 2 in the morning, glassy-eyed and very hungry. We used try and dream up new and novel topping combinations. I can't quite remember what combo it was that finally made Tony draw the line and say "that's just too much to put on a pizza." We used to have great late night screaming matches with Tony, usually sparked by the Bob Grant, or Rush Limbaugh, or whatever conservative asshat he would have on the radio. Good times. I think he's mellowed over the years, but he still wouldn't qualify as, shall we say, politically correct. I remember a favorite question of his for males with earrings in both ears: "Hey, so how long you been gay?" About 8 years ago, my better-half phoned in an order for one of the combinations only I ordered. "Mikey?" Joe responded. She conceded it was for me, and all these years later, they still know her as Mikey. Things don't change much there, and that's the way we like it. Oh yeah...the food. The pizza's all good, as are the sandwiches (I recommend the chicken or eggplant parm). I'm a big fan of the lasagna also. It is excellent if you have them add eggplant to it. So the bathroom is gross and the place looks like an absolute dive, but it's probably the best around as far as "New York" pizza goes. Everything from the dough to the cheese is very fresh and quality stuff. They do have the tendency to overcook the pizza on occassion. The calzone and eggplant parm are way better than the pizza. If you arrive late to pick up your pizza, it has probably been given away and you'll have to wait another 20 minutes, which isn't fun. I've been going here since I moved to NY. All of the guys there remember me, and they always make an amazing pizza. Cash only, but it's a bargain. The guys there are always cordial and ask about my girlfriend each time. And to the person who said that they are stingy with napkins - I've never had that experience, and their pizza is the least expensive in town and far more filling than average. I get the impression from that other review that somebody had a bad experience somehow, because they're just trying to defame the people that run it. Maybe they should stick to Domino's. read more

For us here on the border of Westchester & Hazzard County, this is the closest thing to a NYC pizza slice you can get. Just like the city, you're not meant to hang around, you grab a slice, wolf it down and go. If you're looking to pee go to Pizza Hut. It's my favorite slice in the immediate area and 4 stars. Believe all the 5-star reviews that precede mine. And enjoy the obvious affection with which they are written. My wife and I have been sampling pizza places in our vicinity for years and tried Napoii's for the first time last week. We ordered a small pie with spinach, tomato and black olives. We showed up about 10 minutes before it was ready and were given a brief but very educational seminar on how quality pizza is made and a slice of one that had just come out of the oven to prove how effective their techniques are. We immediately loved these guys. And when we got home we immediately loved their pizza. They had not added the black olives, but hadn't charged us for them, either (small pie with 2 toppings 17 bucks). We didn't miss 'em. Not a bit. The quality of the other ingredients was so high and the crust so perfect that who could moan about a few black olives? We called them and told them how much we loved it and "Uncle Joe" just said "thanks for calling" and hung up. You gotta love that! Today we ordered another small pie, this time just with spinach and tomatoes. It was fresh and hot out of the oven when we arrived and they were busy, so we just went to pay and go. We were told "that's 3 toppings so $20." When we said we'd only ordered 2 toppings Uncle Joe said "it needed garlic, so I added the garlic. That's 3 toppings. $20." We laughed about this all the way home, doing our best Uncle Joe impersonations. And you know what? The pie was even better with the garlic! No kidding - the best pie I've ever had. Uncle Joe knows his pizza! Last Sunday we were telling some friends about Napoli's. A mother and daughter who used to do their laundry across the street from there many years ago said "that place? I always thought ti was a crack den or something.". Don't be fooled by its size or appearance. It may be a hole in the wall, but it's a very clean one and one you'll be happy you visited. No crack.
