I love Cuban food . I stopped in and ordered a Cuban sandwich with black beans and rice. I've been here three times before and was reasonably pleased. At the end of a long day Its nice to be able to depend on the tried and true This was not going to be that night . I ordered at the cash register and passed over a 10, as the cashier said it would be $8.75. As I did so She asked "Do you need your change" in a tone implying It would be a problem if I said yes The sandwich was sour or off and had to be thrown away. read more

I've eaten here at least 15(x) times......I absolutely love the shredded pork, onions, rice and plantains. I would skip the chips and dip and definitely order the chimichurri sauce....delicious!! Plenty of parking and rarely packed. The price is right and the food is good. Enjoy! read more

It's 8:50 pm on a Friday night. The place is full, with a private party on the left side of the restaurant but the main dining room is almost empty. The open sign is off, but there are children outside playing, music and lights are on. The hours sign is still lit up. The sign, the Yelp site, and the hot little coupon I have in my hand indicates they're open until 10 pm. The hostess tells me otherwise and with nary an apology, smile, or explanation turns me away at the door. I'm writing this from the confines of my car in their parking lot. Is it closed for a private party? Has there been a kitchen emergency? Is the universe and this hostess transpiring against me because I have a coupon, a night without the kids, and a hankering for some good Cuban food? Apparently so. What a shame. Mojito cafè ALWAYS does the job to satisfy my Cuban craving...the food is to die for. Everything on the menu hits the spot you really can not go wrong no matter what you pic. I personally love the Trio Combo (you can pick 3 different meat/seafood options & still get rice/beans/& the delicious sweet plantains) or the Churrasco Platter with shrimp..YUM! The empanadas are homemade & now come not only chicken & beef but also vegetable with cheese & all are extremely delicious. You can even get one of each if you cant decide. I love that Mojito Cafe is always so accommodating. The mojitos are no comparison to anywhere else or my own lol. They fresh squeeze their limes to make their homemade mojito mix which certainly makes the mojito so delicious & unique along with the fresh picked mint leaves and a flavor of your choice if you want something other than traditional...the flavors are endless-Guava,Mango,Passion Fruit,Strawberry,Black Berry,Pineapple! So many delicious flavors if traditional doesn't suit you there is something for everyone at Mojito Cafe. We have been to this restaurant numerous times in the past year. If you asked me 6 months ago, I'd say this is a great place to go for Cuban sandwiches. The quality has deteriorated over the past several months. Tonight's experience made it out last minutes. Our Cuban sandwiches were average at best, rice almost cold, beans fine. I'd say if we stopped there, the place would have gotten 3 stars. We then topped off our meal with an order of fried ice cream. The $4.25 fried ice cream came out as a scoop of vanilla ice cream rolled in corn flakes with chocolate syrup on top. When we discussed this with the manager, he indicated that this was typical as they sometimes fry it and sometimes do not. I'm embarrassed that this place considers this fried ice cream and wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

I have lived right around the corner from this place for years, and did not even know that it existed. I stumbled upon it by mistake, and I am so glad I did. First off, the staff is friendly and helpful. Secondly, the atmosphere is collected and fun. Thirdly, and most importantly, the food is AMAZING. It has the most wonderful collection of cuban fare. My all time favorite thing on the menu is the lechon asado - grilled pork with onions and mojito sauce - but everything i have tried is pretty much the best. My mother loves the coffee and drinks here, but I'll stick to my mojitos please. Papa rellena and the empanadas are delicious, and the chimichurri steak is ahhh mouthwatering. Im seriously drooling just thinking about this stuff. There is plenty of parking (one of my pet peeves is sucky parking) and ample space inside. Every time i have come here there is a party of 5 or more, and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. If you are ever in the area you should go, trust me, its worth it. read more

I had been to this restaurant once before and I didn't care much for it, however I decided to give in another try since its near my house. I still didn't care for it. Not to mention that being a Saturday during dinner time it was so dead in there. We ordered the breaded steak (bistec empanizado) and the chicharrones de pollo. It's just not Cuban enough for me. I do have to give them credit for the rice and beans. I'm Cuban and from Miami fl and know what real Cuban food tastes like. Holy mother of god, I would eat here everyday if I could. There empanadas, chicken filet, and palomilla steak are just a few of my favorite dishes. I would eat there rice all day long. THE BEST CUBAN CUISINE can be found in Atlanta! WOW- we used to live in Florida and enjoyed great Cuban food while living there. Since moving to Atlanta we have searched for good Cuban food and now the search is over! I usually order the Chicken Chunks and my husband loves the Churrasco Steak --always delicious. The Black Beans and Sweet Plantains are fantastic that come with every meal. The lunch specials are very reasonable. A Cuban Coffee finishes this authentic outing nicely. read more

I don't remember the last time I went to the same restaurant twice in one week, but my family had Mojitos twice this week. Both times it was delicious. The empanadas are the best I've had. The crust is so perfect, light and crisp. They're definitely hand made. The fresh grouper filet was amazing both times. I had it with creole sauce the first time and the garlic sauce the second. Both were awesome. The skirt steak was perfectly cooked, and seasoned. The beans and rice are great! My husband had the ropa viejo, which he devoured. I've seen the reviews and it was recommended to me a few years ago by a co-worker, but I hate that it took this long for us to make it here. It's definitely a go to restaurant for us now. I've been there a couple of times for lunch. The food is always good and the price reasonable. I typically get a Cuban or Media Noche sandwich, but I have tried a few other items too, like Chincharon de Pollo and Lechon Asada. If you are in the area and are wanting Cuban food, it's worth a stop. The shopping center it is in is surprisingly run down considering the surrounding area, but it's certainly safe and the restaurant is pleasant inside. There is plenty of parking available too. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant--I've lived in this area all of my life and failed to realize how much delicious food was in this dinky old shopping center. I ordered the Rojo vieja--which was great! I would have to say that the black beans and rice were the best I've had--the rice was soo flavorful. My husband enjoyed the steak sandwich and absolutely loved the bread. The mojito was honestly the best I've had--I liked that it was sweet and I really look forward to having more in the summer time! However, it took over 30 minutes to get a mojito and 1 hour to get dinner. This place has good food but they are not adequately staffed to handle events and serving their main dining room. Great food and fast service!! Wait staff is not the best. They mean well but I have yet to have had a server with much personality. They are always shy and seem unsure when asked questions. However, I did have a concern recently and the owner was there and took care of everything right away. He was great and did more than I expected to show his desire to make the customer happy. I really enjoyed my first visit at Mojito Cafe. The place was a little empty but that was a good opportunity to practice my salsa moves. I had the guava then the mango mojitos, which tasted so good and were strong. They definitely have the best mojitos! I had a sip of my boyfriend's margarita, which was also good! Wow, this place pleasantly surprised me. I ordered the beef empanadas and the Lechon Asada. Both were absolutely delicious! I seriously have not had Cuban food this good since I lived in South Florida. The filling in the empanadas was perfect and the sauce that comes with it is really good. I also got a side of the jalapeño relish/salsa and it tasted very good on the empanadas. The pork was lean and flavorful. Even the beans, which at some places can be very bland, were incredibly flavorful! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the styrofoam takeout containers. They have the tendency of melting when hot food is placed into them. The empanadas did melt the styrofoam a bit...Otherwise, it is the best Cuban food around.
