**Grinch PopUp** This was my first visit to M Social, for celebratory drinks with my sister. Really doing a great job on the floor level, every nook and cranny being filled with Christmas/Grinch decor. The drinks were a bit pricey, but was to be expected. However, what we did not anticipate was the 20's-30s demographic and dance floor/club vibe upstairs, and practically nil on any decorations whatsoever - definitely not our vibe. Though, we would have stayed, but with only a handful of tables filled to the gills we grabbed a couple of shots and left. Imho, the current, polished feature photo belies the club "feel" of this pop-up. Overall it was okay.

Went for the Grinch theme night. We arrived at 6:00 the first floor was super crowded. 2nd floor was not but it was so hot we sat on the little porch. Had the special Cosmo drink. Was not decorated up like I thought it would be just a lemon wedge. Too much $$ for nothing special. The gal and guy next to us ordered a drink the came in a Christmas box. The other one was green with a mini pine branch. . We Did get a table inside when it cooled down with the doors open. Good decorations. The singer guitarist was good!

Fun for something different. This is a seasonal bar, so it is decorated and serves themed drinks. In April, the theme was the movie Mean Girls. In October, it was a Halloween themed bar. I ordered a margarita but got talked into the Halloween themed drink, Black Flamed Candle. Unfortunately, it didn't taste good. This place is very small and the live music was very loud. But it's festive and could be a fun add on for after dinner or something.

If you haven't been to any of their pop-ups, you're missing out! The decor never disappoints! Themed drinks are fun too.

Another fabulous theme at mercantile social! Presently the theme is Harry Potter! The ambiance is truly spot on! It definitely gets crowded so I'd encourage you to go at a non peak time to be able to find a seat. The drinks are always yummy and with fun theatrical effects- glitter, dry ice, and lights etc. a must visit for any Harry Potter enthusiast!

First time here to visit the Harry Potter popup for my birthday. Very cute decor, fun cocktails, and bar food. I had the sliders and the free elf cocktail that was served in a sock! It is a very small space and we got there right when it opened and was lucky to get a table. Because it is so small I was not able to really see all the details of the decor which was a bummer. What I saw was very cute- make sure you go into the bathroom! I had a great time and I look forward to seeing any future pop ups.

Love! The effort on the décor is impressive and the food was amazing. Small space, but charming - we visited on a weeknight evening so it wasn't overly busy, even had live music. We shared the sliders, salad, Amish grilled cheese and parmesan fries and everything was excellent. Will definitely visit again to try other items, though not sure we can pass up those sliders - best I've ever had. Cocktails are fun and tasty - definitely try the butter beer if it's available, but enjoy the fun of all of them. Very much appreciate the effort they put into everything - looking forward to décor changes when we visit in the future.

While in Alpharetta back in September, I just had dinner with some coworkers nearby at Citizen Soul. The owner told us his brother was playing over at Mercantile Social and to check it out. The night was still young, so we took his advice. Place had going this pop up bar theme from Hocus Pocus, which i thought was really cook. The drinks were phenomenal, especially this smoking tequila drink! The place was cool with its witchy vibes and laid back atmosphere. They do this cool drink + firework thing for people celebrating their birthday, we sang for this random girl who was celebrating that night. The live music made this place even better. We drank and sang along... God this night was amazing!!!! This place rocks!

I came here for the Christmas pop up, mainly because my friend who loved the Grinch wanted to come here because it was a grinch themed pop up. Originally this place was going to get one star from me because while we were waiting for our other friends to arrive, myself and my other friend decided to go on and order our drinks. We watched the flow of service at the bar and could tell who should have gone when. Mind you it's not like we were standing behind someone, we were standing right at the bar. There was a group of people that came in dressed like Santa Claus that stood to the right of us, after we had been waiting for a while We should have been next, however, the bartender ignored us and went to the party of Santas. I'm guessing she realized after we walked off that she messed up. I say this because shortly after this, another bartender came to help and asked who needed what. The bartender that ignored us said, "well they've been waiting for a while". Yes I'm going to state the obvious. The santas were Caucasian, my friend and I, African American. You want to give folks the benefit of the doubt until they put their foot in their mouth. Smh Anyway, I had the dumpit drink and the whobilation. One star is for the drinks (they were good) and the guy that actually assisted us. Unfortunately i won't return. This location is out of the way for me as well so the fact that that one interaction was a hot mess made me feel like my visit was a waste of time and gas. Service is everything. Do better.

The ONLY late night spot to go dancing in downtown Alpharetta! Mercantile Social is a cozy pop-up bar with seasonal, rotating themes located in a very historic/old building in the heart of downtown Alpharetta. If you grew up in the area, you may remember it as a wedding dress/antique shop across from the old christmas tree & City Hall. They are open until 2am on weekends, and they offer a great cocktail menu (as well as a seasonal menu, of course). The second level is dedicated for the DJ and the dance floor, and that top floor can quickly get full on a Saturday night. They also offer private party rentals if you are looking to book out part of the bar for a special occasion. Always a good time for a late night stop, or even just for a pre or post-dinner drink!

Mercantile Social's Grinchmas pop-up has become an annual tradition for us! The decor is always 10/10, so festive and fun. It is always packed, so highly recommend arriving early if you plan to get a seat at the bar or a table. The Grinchmas drink menu is super creative and the drinks are great. The 5:30: Jazzercise was a twist on an Espresso Martini, it was so tasty! The bartenders do a great job cranking drinks out despite the crowd. I'd recommend for the experience, just be mindful that it gets very busy very quickly!

There are bathrooms and parking there is street parking and garage parking. We went here for the grinch pop up bar, it was decorated so cute the drinks were great and although they were busy they did a great job of telling us when to order and acknowledging everyone who walked in. There will was a wait but I was very impressed with the services The drinks were great! We had so much fun taking pictures and enjoying a super crazy drink that was nothing less than a treat! We had the cheermister, grinch's lair, a beer, and vodka Diet Coke. The cheermister I shared but the drink itself wasn't too crazy sweet itself. The treats on top were rich though, chocolate icing, m&m, cookies, pirouette cookies, Rice Krispies, marshmallows and chocolate sauce, that stuff was rich, but the drink wasn't as rich but very tasty. If you like Irish coffee with lots of cream it tasted similar. My dad had a grinch's lair it was grata but you have to like crème de menthe. They have an upstairs bar that was way more empty too. They are very helpful and made all the drinks. I'm

This place has the best themed nights and coordinating themed cocktail menus! It's always changing, which keeps me coming back to try the latest offerings. There is often live music, they are open late, and the owners are awesome. Most recently, I went for the Mean Girls themed night and the drinks were so fetch. The only downside of this place is the size. It's very small and can feel cramped and loud, but don't let that stop you from trying their drinks!

We ordered the deviled eggs appetizer, my husband ordered the crab cakes, and I ordered the lettuce wraps app as my main. The crab cakes were really good (I had a bite or two), and the buns were unexpected but delicious! The lettuce wraps were also very good, but honestly not what I thought a lettuce wrap would be. I've seen other pictures of them that were much more traditional finger food for brunch, so not sure if they changed them entirely or if this is just dinner version. Tasty, but obviously not for picking up... it would be tricky to wrap them up in that tiny piece of lettuce and I did not want to get dripped on with the sauce. So, if knife and fork lettuce wraps were a thing - this would be it! I think the bib lettuce makes it hard as it's so frail and flimsy, so if I had any suggestions, maybe it would be to try wrapping them from a head of lettuce for a bigger, more firm piece of lettuce. Dessert was a strawberry shortcake. Nice finish to a richly flavored dinner. My husband asked for an espresso and it came in a huge mug. Not sure if this is standard, or if they ran out of demitasse cups. Service was more attentive on front end, but less as they got busy and our server got more tables. I asked another server for water refill and then a manager brought us a dessert menu since our server disappeared. He showed up with the check and we had to tell him we wanted dessert. We made reservation through open table and got seated immediately. When we left, the little lobby area was packed so we definitely went at the right time. I think the servers were getting a little overwhelmed (and I cannot blame them). Still a great view and worth the hassle of finding parking in downtown Alpharetta.

It was warm outside and warm = rooftop bar. It was the start of a great night. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located in downtown Alpharetta on South Main Street. The restaurant sits on the fifth floor of an office building. There is no parking directly by the building, however there is free street parking as well as a deck that is free and is a few minutes walk. If you can, I would recommend taking the walk so you're able to see all of the other shops and restaurants and enjoy the live music that's sure to be playing. Venue and Atmosphere When you walk in you're automatically greeted by the hostess. If you are going on a weekend I absolutely would recommend having a reservation, especially if you want to sit outside. We did not, so it was essentially every woman for themselves. In addition to the tables, there were some couches that were first come first served. We lucked up and a woman was leaving and gave us her table. Food and drinks Since this was our first stop we didn't want to fill up too much. We ordered the charcuterie board, which served as a good snack. I ordered their old fashioned made with Knob Creek, my wife had a cider, and our friend has one of their IPA's. Service Service was decent, considering there was a lot going on. With my friend's IPA they were changing the keg and it actually took a while for that to happen, but our server gave my friend another drink at no charge to make up for that fact, which was a nice touch. Verdict I'm not in Alpharetta much, but the next time I am, I'll definitely stop through for a drink and the view. If you're in the area stop on in! Until next time!

Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite. We were seated near the kitchen, which wasn't a problem. The restaurant had a soccer game on the TV, but it was quiet and there was no indication anything unusual was about to happen. Without warning, a group of approximately eight staff members gathered just a few feet from our table and erupted into an extremely loud celebration, screaming at the top of their lungs as if they were in a sports bar. The outburst startled us so badly that it literally sent my husband into atrial fibrillation (AFib). He was visibly shaken and extremely upset, and we were prepared to leave immediately. Our waiter could clearly see how distressed we were. Since we had already ordered the lobster bites appetizer, he kindly offered to move us to another table. We appreciated his effort and accepted. We finished the appetizer, but by then the evening was ruined, so we left and had dinner elsewhere. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of management involvement. Our waiter knew exactly what had happened and how upset we were, yet not once did a manager come to our table to apologize, ask if my husband was okay, or acknowledge that the staff's behavior was completely inappropriate for a fine dining restaurant. This wasn't about cheering for a game--it was about professionalism. Guests who choose a steakhouse expect a calm, enjoyable atmosphere, not to be startled by employees screaming just feet away from their table. We have always enjoyed Coalition, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I hope management addresses this with their staff so no other guests have their evening ruined the way ours was. We will not be back. Later Added: I just found out the Manager was one of the ones screaming. Pathetic! We went to PappaDeauxs which was half the price and honestly better food & calm atmosphere! Not a sports bar!

Maybe we were just extra hungry, but everything seemed to taste better than on my previous visits. Between the two locations, I definitely prefer this one. The décor feels more festive, and the atmosphere is lively. They have live music starting early in the evening and continuing until around 2 AM on weekends, making it a great place to celebrate, socialize, or enjoy a fun night out. Just know that it gets very loud, so if you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, this probably isn't the place. We've celebrated three or four birthdays here over the years, but this time we hosted a much larger party of about 50 people. Since it was such a big group, we had to reserve a preset menu with a deposit. It included unlimited food and drinks, and we were able to choose from several entrées while ordering as much as we wanted throughout the evening. The biggest downside was the wait. After being seated, it took about 45 minutes to an hour before the first dishes arrived. By then, a lot of us were definitely getting hangry. Thankfully, once the food started coming out, it kept flowing, and with the drinks constantly coming, everyone filled up pretty quickly. As for the food, this visit was definitely an improvement. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, only needing a tiny pinch more of salt. The Brussels sprouts were excellent, and the calamari paired perfectly with the pico de gallo dipping sauce. The steak, however, was a little overcooked and chewy for my liking. The paella was just okay; the rice was cooked well, but the seasoning didn't quite hit the mark, and the mussels were unfortunately overcooked and dry. One thing to keep in mind is that there aren't any private event rooms. Everything takes place in the main dining area, so your party shares the space with everyone else while enjoying the live music. There's also a large outdoor patio, and sometimes they open the garage doors to blend the indoor and outdoor atmosphere, which is really nice. They didn't do that during our visit, though. Despite the lack of dedicated dancing space, we still had an amazing time. The restaurant was lively enough that our energetic group blended right in; we even got a train going through the restaurant! Overall, it was a fun celebration with great energy, good food, and an entertaining atmosphere. I'm really hoping the new Medley development near my house brings in a restaurant with this same kind of vibe. I'd definitely be a regular.
