My first time in Roswell and I loved the opportunity to sit outside. I always have to get manchego Mac and cheese whenever it's on the menu. Creamy and a broiled top of cheese - fantastic. I was delighted to see ceviche with coconut milk. I wish it would have came with more plantain chips- or better yet pantones. I would order this again. For the mussels- It was a first for me getting mussels in red sauce. I prefer white wine style so I probably wouldn't get this again. My friend loves the Roja Margarita. I found it a bit sweet so after trying it I got the sangria -- I love a classic drink that doesn't take away from the tastes of a meal. I'm not a local but I hope to return. read more

First time dining here to celebrate a bday during happy hour. Great spot in downtown Alpharetta. Great patio and indoor seating. Spanish Tapas and great drinks ! We tried several dishes and by recommendation, of our server the burger.which was delicious. The chicken croquet and mushrooms were tasty and the margaritas were great ! Idk what's wrong with this place Stood at the server desk for 5m before addressed and seated Sat at table for 15 minutes; no one came to take our order or bring water. It wasn't particularly busy, seems horribly understaffed / mismanaged. We were there Saturday June 27th. They were busy but not packed. The service was fine/ Drinks were slow but the food came faster. The drinks were good but the food was so-so. We have been to many a tapas places in Atlanta and this one is middle of the road at best. However this biggest issue we had was the birthday celebrations. I thought these went out long ago, especially for a place that serves $16 cocktails. It was not just singing and clapping, they have bang on pots and pans. It is loud enough with the concrete floors and high ceilings. There must have been at least 5 of these while we were there. Very annoying. I doubt anyone would miss them. Came here for Happy Hour with some friends from out of town, and loved their food options. I think it was the chips we got and they were the perfect blend of savory and spicy. Street parking is limited during peak dining hours and basically anytime over the weekend, so definitely recommend parking in the free public parking deck and walking over! I attended a birthday dinner and had a lovely time sipping on espresso martinis (solid one at Fogon!) and munching on light bites - the Baja ceviche tostada is a refreshing must, along with the Mexican Caesar salad, which balance out the heavier manchego mac and cheese. The hamachi ceviche with coconut was nicely balanced, though I didn't pick up much coconut flavor, but still a solid choice with beautiful presentation. No issues there until it started to pour which was thankfully after we'd finished our dinner. Our server Jordan was very helpful to recommend various platters to share or main entrees. Overall I was a little disappointed with the food. Guacamole and chips were good, I'd add a little more lime. The Mexican Caesar salad seemed like something I could've gotten anywhere. Broccolini was salty I had to try and neutralize it with water. Beef empanadas were subpar at most. Got filled off of the tapas so didn't get to try the chicken. We recently visited Fogon and Lions and found the place absolutely packed -- inside, outside, and even around the bar. We were shown to a table located right next to the bar area. Unfortunately, I'm not sure why they position tables so close to it, because as the evening went on, people standing at the bar naturally crowded around our table, making it feel cramped and uncomfortable. We asked if we could move to a different table but were told none were available unless we wanted to wait for a later reservation time. While I honestly didn't notice any obvious open tables, we were still disappointed and chose to stay. The noise level was quite high. The space doesn't appear to have much in the way of sound absorption -- lots of hard surfaces that reflect noise -- which made it difficult to enjoy a relaxed conversation. On a positive note, the drinks were excellent. I had the Fogon Grand Fashion, and my wife ordered the Valentine Special "Twisted Love." Both were well-made, balanced, and definitely a highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the same standard. We ordered the Picadera Platter to sample a variety of items, along with a side of roasted broccolini. I hate to say it, but several items on the platter tasted as though they had been prepared earlier and kept warm under a heat lamp -- a few pieces were dry and somewhat overbaked. Despite the mixed experience, my wife suggested we give them another try in warmer weather so we can sit outside, where it may be less noisy and more enjoyable. We're open to a second visit and hope the food experience improves next time. read more

LOVE Fogon and Lions! This place has the best vibes and the best location downtown. The owner, Julio, is often on site and very friendly to talk to. We stopped by for dinner tonight after an outdoor workout. I got the mango mocktail and it was so light and refreshing - perfect for a hot day! We got the deviled eggs appetizer, which was so unique! The eggs are spread on pieces of toast and delicious. We ordered steak, the ribeye and also the skirt steak. Both were lovely. While we ate, we got to listen to live music and watch a dancer! Compared to The Iberian Pig and Cooks & Soldiers, the food was fine, but the service fell well short. It started off poorly--we sat for about 15 minutes before anyone came by, not even for water. Reading other review this seems unfortunately commonplace. Several staff walked past while we tried to make eye contact and politely wave, but we were completely ignored. The food itself was mostly good. The octopus was outstanding - best we've had since traveling to Croatia. Some of the dish portions felt small, even for tapas. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed the kitchen. Well-meaning staff cleared plates and silverware but never replaced them, so food runners would drop off dishes without noticing we had nothing to eat with. They seemed completely unaware. Food was mediocre at best, beef tips were fatty, sampler was overpriced and looked and tasted like a collection of Costco samples, $18 martini was served in a wineglass and the waitress gave attitude when asked for a proper glass. Stopped in here on a whim with my two besties for a girls night and had a great time! We ended up just taking a few seats at the bar and enjoyed some apps and drinks. Bartender was wonderful and the Delgado's beef empanadas were fantastic! We also ordered the guacamole which had some fresh pickled mango on top and was probably some of the best guacamole I've had out in a long time. I also really appreciated that they had mocktails on the menu under the "0" Proof section, and I decided to go with La Roja which included cranberry, guava, and lemon-lime soda and garnished with a snippet of fresh mint. The food was excellent! The service was sub par. The ambiance was great. We went on a Thursday afternoon. Arrived around 2:30 so 30 minutes before a menu change from Lunch to Dinner. Since it was our first time there, we struggled with what to have. Honestly the server wasn't that helpful. My wife and I ended up with the wild mushroom flat bread and a side of guacamole. Both were fabulous. My wife then ordered the rice bowl with Salmon as the protein and it too was amazing. The couple we were with had a mushroom flatbread and a short ribs flatbread and professed that they too were thrilled with the food. We ate outside and it was very warm. Our server never came back to refill waters. I think since it was the end of lunch, she split and someone else took over the table. The wine I chose was lousy but I could have asked for a sample. I won't lie when I saw this place open in Alpharetta I was skeptical. Alpharetta loves an expensive mid restaurant. To drink, I got the classic red sangria and it was delicious!! For the appetizers, you can't go wrong with croquetas at a tapas place and we got the short rib flat bread. The croquetas were amazing and the flat bread was a delicious surprise! For the main, they mean it when they say the parillada feeds 2-4. It feeds 4 people. It was massive!! The pork belly is some of the best pork belly I've ever had. The chicken was massive and delicious and the chorizo was so so delicious and soft. The steak was beyond tender and the chimichurri was stunning. It came with 2 sides so we got the mac and cheese and the patatas bravas which were also amazing!! I cannot rave about this enough. We also tried the branzino and it was great! To wrap this up, Diego convinced me to try their special margarita the Rosa caliente and that was one of the best spicy margaritas I've had. More in a "will backpack the world for real, authentic and delicious food"... so it was really more my error to come to a place that serves ceviche (which I will always order) after a two week trip to Peru last week where we ate the worlds best ceviche daily for about $6. That said, the flavor of the "ceviche" was fine, but this was not really ceviche... this was 5 pieces of thin sliced sashimi tuna smothered in a sauce. The cut of the fish wasn't even ceviche style. My husband got the Mexican Caesar corn salad. I get its fusion but please don't call it Cesar if you don't use Cesar dressing... this tasted nothing like a Cesar, and more like a Cobb / ranch salad with some corn and cotija cheese.
