I had been a happy client of Michelle's at first but then things went left. As everyone suggests, she is notorious for canceling appointments day of. I mean it happens so much that I can't even be sensitive to all this ER & heart trouble stuff because I don't believe it anymore. I booked before 2 huge vacations (Fiji and Cabo), thinking I would go get all exfoliated with the body scrub and a facial....NOT. Canceled morning of and didn't even bother to reschedule. It got so bad me and my best friend placed a bet for my last appointment bc we knew she would cancel, AS USUAL. And she did. Why? This excuse was she slipped on black ice. Guess the heart issues and stints got old. OVER IT. She is super nice but booking is a nightmare and an actual appointment where your receive service is an even bigger nightmare. I truly believe she has canceled on me more than she has worked on me. Total bullshit and idk what she is up to or why she runs a business this way. read more

UPDATE: It's been 20 days since I left my review explaining how Michelle hasn't responded to any of my emails or calls. I STILL haven't heard a word from her. I contacted Groupon and they refunded my gift certificates. If you're in the same boat, I would highly encourage you to dispute the purchase with Groupon. I explained the situation and they refunded it promptly. I'm very disappointed to see that Michelle hasn't removed her offer from Groupon. It's impossible to book an appointment with her, and even if you are able to do so, many other reviews say that she cancels last minute quite often. With that said, her website notes that if a client cancels with less than 24 hrs notice, they will still be charged for the reservation. The irony. Not a good business practice. Good luck, Michelle. Do some research before booking an appointment with Michelle at Mojo Day Spa. I was given a massage as a gift, purchased off Groupon. When I tried to schedule an appointment, she could not get me in for over 3 months which isn't ideal but she's a one women operation so I understand. The morning of my appointment I get a text at 6:30am that she threw her back out and would have to reschedule my 10 o'clock appointment. Such a bummer! I would be forgiving of this if I didn't then look at yelp and see that she does this ALL THE TIME, just changes the excuse up a bit. The next two months I emailed or texted her about once a week about rescheduling my appointment, which she said I could do... it was a gift after all, I didn't want to waste it. I have not heard back from this woman in that time. Every text and email has gone unanswered (both of which she had used to communicate with me to this point). This de-stressor has become more stress than it's worth! Thankfully Groupon refunded the person who gifted it to me, even after it's expiration. Do not book with Mojo Day Spa! I had an appointment in September that she cancelled day of, like many other reviewers, saying she was in the hospital. I understand health problems, so I rescheduled for December. For that appointment, she once again canceled same-day via text saying she had the flu, and I haven't heard from her since despite numerous attempts. I had my first appointment with Michelle yesterday and it was fantastic! The office building can be a little intimidating, but she sent me very specific instructions on how to get to her suite. The suite is a single room in the office building. It had fantastic ambiance and was tidy. Michelle greeted me with a smile and sat down with me to discuss my skin care routine and concerns that I had. It was nice to sit at a table with her to talk; kinda like talking to a friend. I am often chastised for not washing my face at night (yeah, I know, shame on me), but Michelle was very understanding. She recommended a slight change to my regimen, but didn't try to push any product, which I appreciated. Then we got started on an oxygenating facial. She explained every step, what I should expect, and when I should tell her if something didn't feel right. The after care instructions were very easy to understand and follow. I purchased a Groupon for a facial @ Mojo Day Spa in January, and finally was able to use it today. I was a bit frustrated at first because I could not figure out where the business was located, but...I figured it out. It is located in an office building (across from ZEST) that is a bit rundown, and is shared with a bunch of office spaces. But her space is very clean and calming. I felt immediately at ease when I entered her studio. Michelle is AMAZING! I cannot speak highly enough about my experience. She is a really lovely woman, who takes the time to really get to know your skin routine and problem areas. She is very knowledgeable. My skin is glowing, and I could feel a huge difference right away. Her pricing is really affordable, so that makes it easy to keep up with regular facials. I have already set up 3 more appointments, and cannot wait for my next visit. read more

Where has Michelle been all my life??? I don't want to be gushy and sound incincere but this was hands down the BEST spa treatment and BEST esthetician I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Several months ago I received a gift certificate from some wonderful co-workers but was a little leery of the location so I procrastinated the making the appointment. I finally made an appointment and went there last night. Now, I am kicking myself for doing that becuase I could have been seeing Michelle sooner. Her office in particular was warm and very cosy. The aromatherapy ambiance was calming and soothing and in no time I was very relaxed. I was a little nervous becuase I have not had a salt scrub before but Michelle explained the process to help alleviate any fears. I can't believe I was nervous. IT WAS AMAZING! The scrub really got rid of all the dry skin and afterward I left feeling soothed and soft. I also want to reiterate what other reviews have said. We bought a gift certificate for our daughter for Christmas here. The earliest appointment was mid April, which was kind of depressing, but we booked it and asked if she had cancellations to let us know. Finally, the day of the appointment we get a text saying she's been in a car accident and needs to reschedule. We're not heartless, so wish her a speedy recovery and eventually make another appointment for a few weeks later. Well, then that day comes and again, bright and early get a cancellation text saying she needs to go to the hospital, but she'll call to reschedule within a couple hours. It never happens. We write the next day to see how things and about rescheduling. After several tries and no response, we contacted Groupon to make them aware she's a habitual canceller, thankfully we were able to be refunded. This business/woman seems extremely shady! I have been going to Mojo for nearly 6 months and, for the first time in my life, I have beautiful skin. Michelle truly partners with her clients; she sincerely listens to your concerns, reserves judgment on your current regime, and makes pragmatic and effective recommendations. Her fees are more than reasonable and, based on her copious notes of each session, she really is invested in each client. I had an admittedly poor skin care routine (soap and a loofah), and have had facials/peels at other spas in the past. Not only were their prices prohibitive, I was repeatedly admonished for how I'd cared for my skin (or lack of care, really) and given the "hard sell" on their very expensive product lines. Ironically, these spa visits were a little anxiety-inducing. The opposite is true with Michelle- she is like a friend, easy-going, kind, and fun to talk to. Even when having a peel, the experience is incredibly relaxing. She really understands the physiology of the skin, and every time I visit, it seems she has been to more continuing education. I've wanted to give her a great review for months, but was almost afraid that too many people would discover the 'best kept secret in day spas' in Indianapolis (and I'd have a hard time getting an appointment.) :) read more

I purchased a Groupon for the Body Glow Rub/Scrub, used the appointment scheduler on the website, and received confirmation of my appointment by email. There was no problem with the appointment time. Actually, Michelle went a few minutes over on her prior appointment and she made sure to give me a full hour. The massage was great! First she gives a rub with sea salt, then she applies hot towels and rubs off the salt, and then gives a regular massage with lotion. The hot towels were especially soothing. The space is relaxing with low lighting and soft background music, and the table was very comfortable. It is toward the back of an office building, and there is a chair outside her door for waiting. My husband surprised me with a massage. A deal he had gotten from living social. I have been having major back pain (and under a lot of stress) since having our twins 13 months ago. I was excited to get a a massage. I noticed she was booked until November ( this was July) so I just figured she got a lot of business. Fast forward to October, I couldn't find where I wrote the day and time of my appointment so I called the spa, I got no answer and so I left a message. She never called back, but I found it in my calendar so I brushed it off. Fast forward again to the day before my appointment, I needed to confirm the time, so I called again and left a message. She never called back, but I did receive and email confirming the time and date. At 5:51am the day of I got the following text message. After reading similar reviews from Months ago I have decided that this is someone with whom I wanted to do business. The only reason she gets one star is because it wouldn't let me post a review otherwise. Termina ... Earlier this year I had 3 stents put into my left atrium and part of one stent was left sticking out into my aorta. We think this is what is causing me so many problems and I have scheduled a time to go in and get it fixed. However, my chest pains are getting more intense requiring me to take more nitro pills for release. That's happening this morning and I think I need to go to the ER so they can fix this once and for all. I'm so sorry, but if I don't get this fixed my fear is I won't be here at all. So, with the upmost regret and sincerity for having to do this, I'm going to have to cancel our appt. I can not express to you how deeply sorry I am for all this inconvenience. Purchased the groupons...took 6 months to get an appointment, was canceled due to medical issues. Asked to reschedule for 2 months out, but after my friend's was canceled in the same manner mine was, decided to just get a refund on my groupons and cancel my appointment. I understand medical issues arise, and I am sympathetic to that, but I feel like if you're going to release a large number of groupons, maybe you get some help. I've had several different facials/peels/services at several different estheticians in town due to years of skin problems - acne and sensitivity - and Michelle is hands down the best esthetician I've ever had. From the moment you walk into her facial room you feel calmed and relaxed. She takes the time to understand your skin, your routine, your concerns and problem areas. She's so knowledgeable about skin she really helped me out and her recommendations for my daily routine have changed my skin entirely. Not to mention the facial was incredible and my skin was amazing for WEEKS afterwards. No "post facial breakout" or sensitivity - just glowing skin. I've been to Michelle twice and I love her facials! She is very thorough and will take the time to exam you skin and prepare a facial that is for you. She will ask you questions about your normal skin regimen and help you create ways to improve it. And I also like that she takes notes each time to know where we left off! I found Michelle at Mojo Day Spa a couple of years ago with Groupon. She is fantastic and really knows her stuff where skincare is concerned. She is definitely my esthetician of choice, and I have been to a lot of big fancy spas that don't come close to her level of knowledge and caring. Every experience there has been a wonderful, skin-enhancing, uplifting one. I always leave her place with that "glow," whether it's a facial or a peel. I do know that she has had some major health issues of late, which is why she was forced to take some time off and therefore cancel some appointments, as she is a one-woman business and has no employees to take over for her. However, upon cancelling my appointment she contacted me when she was ready to reschedule and I have had no problem with getting in with her to use the packages I've bought. Please don't let the negative reviews here influence you; Michelle is an amazing individual and very conscientious. There was one time she even hand-delivered a product by my house the minute she got it in stock because she didn't want me to have to wait or make a trip over to her studio-- now THAT's customer service!!
