There's a great atmosphere and the staff are phenomenal. Food and bar service was quite slow for a Wednesday night. Not the fault of our wait staff, though. The veggies are fresh. We didn't care for any of the meats we tried. All of them tasted gamey. We eat a lot of venison, and I double checked that we had ordered beef and not venison. The pork tasted more like wild boar. We do love game meats, but in different preparations than se had in our three dishes. We did not try the chicken nor any ground beef. The side salad was so good! I was on a road trip and wanted to stop for dinner instead of doing fast food. The food at Mojo was good. Their chips and salsa were definitely fresh. The salsa was kid friendly with no heat at all. I got the chicken bowl and it was plentiful. My family got tacos and they were all over flowing. So, props there. The prices were reasonable too. The covid situation was abysmal. Their policy seems to be... you are on your own. Staff congregate at the entrance. The kitchen staff didn't even seem to have masks. The bartenders were wearing masks as earrings or chin straps while serving customers. They were also happy to let customers stroll through the restaurant without a face covering. Worst service I've had anywhere other than a Denny's! The waitress brought our drinks before our children's drinks they had to wait a long time for theirs. She brought the children's food out on plates that were scolding hot and didn't replate. My husband got the wrong order. The plates were dirty !They had no regular silverware only plastic that she couldn't find. She left us staring at our food for a good 10 minutes while she went to look for the plastic silverware. I had unsweet tea had to ask for the Splenda three times. Overall really bad experience will not be coming back Mojo's. read more

My favorite dish is the shrimp And grits. They make it like nowhere else. Huge shrimp, yummy not lumpy grits with just the right amount of cheese and some Extra cream and a little bit of mushrooms; the last two Ingredients making it unique and a taste you won't forget. Another item we often get are the nachos. OMG. They're huge and they're loaded!! The sweet bbq drizzled on top makes it seem odd. Maybe it is, but it's so so so yummy you'll wish you had ordered the large but are glad you didn't bc you still have to eat your scrumptious dinner. Dessert. WOWza!! I'm glad there were two others at my table to help me share bc for certain I would have eaten every.single.last.drop. Then of course I would have exploded. The Cuban bananas foster. Nothing absolutely nothing like this found anywhere. Sweet and warm and yumminess topped with ice cream. Officially my favorite dessert ever. My wife and I have been a fan of Mojo's even before they were Mojo's. Rondo Fernandez name synonyms with Ocala. He's not just a restaurateur but a man who's grown up listening and serving his community not just great food but great love. We read an online article in 2005 about a little hole in the wall restaurant called Rondo's that had great food. We made a point of stopping by and having our first meal when we can out from California to by a house in Ocala. We've been faithful customers ever since taking all of our out of town guest their for the best Cuban roast pork in Florida. I highly recommend the Pepin Cuban Pork dinner and the Birria Tacos that'll make you want to suck your finger dry. And, don't even get me started on Mojo's award winning wings. (Rhythm &a Blues) There was a special on Hurricanes, because Hurricane Irma is barreling down at us. There was also a band playing and the music was great. The food was fine but not amazing. I had the gumbo soup as an appetizer, and I could've stopped there it was soooo delish! And a good sized portion, too. Super disappointed in this place. Was scheduled for a Jeep meeting and we reserved their meeting room to discuss an upcoming event. Now mind you this place does not take reservations unless it is a big party and only for this room. Well we had the reservation in early in the week and was told it was set. When we get there they gave the room to another group. The manager looked at the book and it did show out group listed first but they decided to give it to the other group who reserved it after we were already showing it booked for us. The manager didn't seem to care that we did reserve it first. His statement was well they are regulars and they will not give up the room. This is definitely showing they don't care about peoples business even when our group promotes this company's establishment when we have events. read more

Came here for lunch. The wings are very good with a variety of sauces to suit most tastes from classic buffalo to both wet and dry jerk to name a few. We also had the fried pickles which were very good and my mother had a quesadilla which was stuffed so full it was bursting everywhere. The rice and beans that accompanied it were great and I would order that as a side when I come back. My wife had buffalo chicken tenders which were an entree but she wanted it as a main and having just been to the gym and being told it was 4 tenders she ordered two portions. No need though as these things were enormous! One of the tenders was the size of a full chicken breast! We'll be back! Good value and good service.
