I've eaten at Red Crab before and used to enjoy it, but this last visit was a total letdown. The lobster and shrimp were both extremely overcooked--rubbery and dry. The lobster tail had barely any meat in it, like it had been sitting out or cooked down to nothing. The sauce, which is usually the saving grace, tasted completely different and honestly not good. It felt like a new cook or owner took over and just doesn't know what they're doing. For the price, I expected way better. Definitely not coming back unless things change. read more

The seafood here is soo fresh and good! Everything was properly cooked and my shrimps were just the right texture. Portions are good and Cajun Sauce is great!! Have been going for awhile- bit pricey, but usually worth it ( tab is round 150 with crab, drinks etc.). Ee will sit in, but we have been ordering pickup the last 4 times. Last night for st paddys- we wanted crab, so placed the usual to go. Got home and it was not in the pan as usual, buplastic bag. bag. The crab ( king and snow) was like rubber bands and the meat was gone. The potatoes werent fully cooked and the corn habturned to cream corn!!! Dang! Where has this place been all my life?! Came here solo because I was on a business trip in the area. I wanted something messy, buttery, seafood broil food and this was the first place that popped up on my Yelp. With their large parking, I was able to pull in with ease and it's hard to miss. I walked in and the host seated me immediately. I ordered a 1/2 garlic butter mild headless shrimp, with white rice and a Yuengling. The shrimp was piping hot when served. It was burning through my gloves but it was so delicious that I didn't care. Their white rice is definitely Asian because it was sticky (and I freaking love Asian white rice)! I complimented the manager at the end of my dinner because I was so happy with my meal. I wish this was a chain restaurant closer to home. Or maybe... I was not able to find this on Yelp, so I am adding it for all. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and we have one twin that is allergic to seafood, so she ordered the chicken wings and the other ordered chicken tenders. My wife had the crab legs and shrimp (headless) boil - you can order it with heads on - and I ordered the Friday special: lobster tail, shrimp (headless) and snow crab boil. The calamari was decent and I didn't get a chance to try the hush puppies. Holy seafood boil, Batman! That right there is some really good food! We both got garlic butter sauce and I had the medium spice and my wife had mild. To. Die. For!! Seriously, I could eat here 2-3 times a week. The little mini lobster was decent, but the shrimp and crab legs? Just keep 'em coming!! Seriously, I can't say enough how good this was! My mercy, this is some great eats! We came for the fresh seafood, and we weren't disappointed! We had steamed seafood, which comes to your table in a big bad that you open and pour onto a huge platter. They provide gloves and bugs to help you stay clean, but we needed more than that! All I can say is Delicous. I am a seafood lover and there is nothing better than a flavorful crab boil. The snow crab legs had a hint of sweetness that mixed well with the spices. I love that you can get 1/2 LB of certain items. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the food items and made excellent suggestions. The food came out fast and hot and I ate until I couldn't eat anymore. And it's all reasonably priced. The waiter was great with food questions but not so much with drink questions. I think he was too young to drink LOL The bartender(I didn't catch her name) came over to our table when she saw us asking the waiter a lot of questions about tequila that he couldn't answer. Been wanting to try this so 2 of us went this evening, definitely mixed feelings! Growing up in New England, having lived in California, spent lots of time on Atlantic and Pacific coast, and well familiar with seafood! Tonight I ordered the bag with crab legs and clams! Never in my life have I seen miniature clams and crab, and the corn (horribly over cooked as were the miniature clams,)and potatoes! Not saying I didn't get enough to satisfy the menu description, but 1. To taste the clam, which getting a taste of anything was difficult because of the greasy overpowering sauce ( and mine was not spiced) you had to eat at least 3 at a time. 2. The crab legs were so thin you could not use the cracker provided. That would have been ok if you had a metal fork to work the shell off, or of the legs were sliced! The server, who was very attentive, was able to find a crab pick , somewhat helpful, but in all my years of crab have I ever had problem! 3. Everything was swimming in the broth, which was greasy, not bad taste wise, but not what I expected. I was thinking more a low county boils, a crab pot ...the type of seafood mix where after everything is steamed together it is drained when serving ... it was an experience, never to be had again! Fried had fried oysters, tried one, not sure if it was the breading or cocktail sauce but very vinegary..fries were good.
