They say first impressions are the most important and unfortunately mine was not very good. I don't believe anyone wants to pick up a black & white photo copied paper menu that has been scrunched up and has someone else's food embedded on it. Such as it was, we ordered the chicken fajitas and didn't have to wait too long before it was served to us. However, it might of been easier for the server (and us) if she didn't have to wait tables and bartend at the same time. The fajitas were overflowing with flavorful chicken but the tortillas were soggy and it made quite a mess. For the $12 you also receive about 3 tbls of black beans & rice. Though they were good, there were 2 foreign objects in it. (see photos) One was a bay leaf and the other was a thick stem of some kind. This is never acceptable. I'm so very sad..... This is the first review I have ever written for a restaurant in my life. I went in tonight with my 3 year old daughter to have dinner. I realized once we got to the table that I'd forgotten my mask. I let the very nice host get us to the table to see where it was located before running out to get it. The server comes up as i'm about to run out with her mask down. I figured she forgot, I'd just forgotten mine, I get it. Strange times, we're not all the way used to it. She pulls it up briefly and then pulls it back down to speak to us two feet from my face. She then offers to help my daughter into the booth and picks her up without her mask. I order drinks and start looking around and notice No one in the open line of the kitchen are wearing one. The bartender standing in the middle of the bar making drinks, has his hanging off one ear. What? I understand that I'm taking a risk by eating out. I'm 34 and healthy. But I still take precautions and count on the restaurant that I take my business to, to care enough and value me enough to be as safe as possible. Social distancing and masks. Why in the world would this not be a given? And why would this woman pull her mask down several times to talk to me? Pick up my child shoving her mask less face right next to hers? It was bizarre. And offensive. I stood up and waited for her to come back, she approaches me, pulls the mask down again, and I tell her I'd like to cancel my drink and pay for my daughters apple juice, that we would be leaving. I said I thought when coming to dine at a restaurant there would be social distancing and masks, and that no one making the food was wearing one, as well as most everyone else. She says ok, and not to worry about paying for the juice. And turns around and walks away. No apologies, no explanation. Its 1:30 in the morning and I'm laying in bed still thinking about it. Disgusted by what I saw and experienced at this place. I can only assume this is permitted by the owners and management, this was my fist and last time ever visiting a mojos location. read more

Great variety of food choices! Nice atmosphere, lively upbeat servers. I tried the Crazy Cuban sandwich, which I was only able to eat half of, with a side of a mojo sauce and onion rings. The sandwich was just a little dry but only because of the pork but the sauce was more than enough to make up for that! I would order it again for sure. Mojo is a great place to grab dinner when you're with a group and everyone wants something different. The menu here is huge and has sooooo many good options! We're a big fan of the wings, but can truly attest to all of the options being a great choice. The ambiance is nice too, especially on nights when live music is available! We've only ever had great service here, including when pick-up only was happening at the beginning of COVID. Definitely stop in for a very satisfying dinner! read more

We go to Mojo Grill & Catering about once a week for takeout. The food is always packaged nicely and condiments and eating utensils are included. Since we live pretty far out I can't say if it is hot. But it is easy to warm up and tasty. The employees are friendly and helpful. Be careful is you click menu it takes you to grub hub. I guess if you want it delivered that's fine but we were just picking it up and had to pay a hefty charge compared from going directly to the restaurant. read more

Let me start off by saying that the food was delicious. The wings are very meaty, and the sauces are delicious. I tried a couple of them, and they were excellent. The fries are fantastic. The onion rings were OK, but nothing to write home about. Now for the reason for only three stars: When we arrived, a party of six, only about a quarter of the restaurant was full, and the customers were all seated in the same section closely packed in. The person seating us wanted to put us at a table that was fully surrounded by other occupied tables less than six feet apart. We asked to be seated somewhere else, that was a little more social distanced. Three quarters of the restaurant was empty. The gentleman was definitely not happy about that, argued about it with a member of our party, rudely stating that he would have to "toggle back and forth between sections". Who does this in these present times? We responded that we would either sit in the section requested, or we would be leaving. We were then seated in the requested area. The host was clearly angry. We could then see him talking about us to a server. His behavior was absolutely appalling. I will say that the server that was then assigned to us was kind and attentive. Great food and service! We came in as a work group of 7 and were seated immediately. Our waitress was funny, friendly, and quick with service. I had the garlic wings and she recommended I add Parmesan m. They came out quickly nice and hot. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal (and drinks) as well. Fantastic place! I had the soul food salad w/honey mustard dressing. The fried chicken was chopped on top of a bed of different salad greens. My wife had their spicy quesadilla which I tried and was fantastic...had onions in there as well.. Mmm so good. Large glass of sweet tea! It wasn't my plan to dine at Mojo's but once inside the environment is so alive and vibrant, the open kitchen and grill made me reserve a table with the hostess. I tried this place for lunch in between my work day. I loved the whole experience. Gina my waitress was knowledgeable and even had some suggestions for lunch. I winded up getting the Cuban wrap with red beans and rice and some mojo sauce. The food had so much flavor and was so delicious. Gina was attentive and even put all my left overs into the take out box and drew a cute little drawing on the outside of the to go container. I stopped in yesterday for the first time and was greeted promptly by a couple different employees. I have only had their catering so I wanted to see how the restaurant menu and service was. I sat at the bar, Collette (not sure of spelling) was great, asked her what she liked for appetizers and entree. I ordered the Fried Pickles, tossed in Cajun batter, served with their house made Cajun ranch. They were fried jist right, not dripping with grease when served and had great flavor. For my entree I ordered the Rhythm and Blue Burger topped with melted blue cheese and a side of slaw. The burger was awesome, it was juicy and not over cooked. The slaw was the only thing I would have changed. The seasoning was not there. Besides that everything was great, service was on spot, bathrooms were clean and with all going on they were all wearing masks and seating tables with one in between. I love this place! It's a great pairing of Cuban and New Orleans food that somehow just works. The atmosphere is super cool with blues and classic rock decor hanging out of every wall and ceiling. We live in The Villages and this was our first time here. Our waiter/server was Luis, who I can not say enough good things about. Prompt, attentive, but not over-bearing. Almost seemed like a friend before we left! Very unusual in this day and age. After he knew I wanted wings, he told us they had recently won the Ocala Wing Contest. Said they had a special with 10 wings, 5 of each of the winners with homemade chips. My wife ordered the fish tacos and our friend had the pork tacos. All of it was Yummy! They both especially loved the beans and rice! My wing combo was wonderful and so were the chips. Excellent recommendation! The decor here is very interesting and you will notice many awards on the wall on your way to the bathroom. Very clean and friendly. A must return for us. This is not a chain, but the owner does have 3 locations already. I hope they open a location in The Villages! It will surely be a hit as long as they can provide a discounted "happy hour" drink menu for residents, because their food will be some of the best!
