Had several a la cart tacos and guac, chips and salsa. It was all very good. Earlier reviews said the food has no flavor - that has changed, apparently. It was all chock full of great flavor. Glad to have this restaurant in town. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't enjoy the bar-and-alcohol-focused ambience. I wasn't expecting much for a taco place in Lyons, but WOW this place is a great surprise. These are definitely some of the best tacos in the area and I will be bringing friends here for sure. This was my second visit to Mojo, and I was very pleased! I got their two vegetarian taco offerings (rajas con calabazas and grilled fennel on special for the day). Both needed a little more salt, but the ingredients were really fresh tasting, so I didn't mind salting my food (everyone has their own taste anyway). Last time I was here, the rice and beans were flavorless, but THIS TIME they were SCRUMPTIOUS!! They were flavored with cumin and... can you believe this... I think they used salt!?! YAY!!!!! I was so happy I didn't have to add anything extra. I also tried the salsa trio to start and really enjoyed the avocado tomatillo salsa and dos chiles salsa. The chips had salt on them this time, too (it just keeps getting better) AND the salt shaker worked. Very happy indeed. I'm so glad I gave them a second chance. Good addition to the Lyons food scene but still has some work to do. The menu is strong but the preparation is lacking. Some of the tacos are very good and others are just so-so. Unless you like pre-made (think from a package) guac, stick to the salsa. The fish tacos, both versions, are very good. Will be back at some point to give it another shot. read more

Lyons local of four years. Love their tacos and margs but not much in the way of available women ever hanging at the bar. Always plenty of local couples and tons of "brohs" but never any single women. Why is that? Instead I do the drive to The Roost in Longmont or Tahona in Boulder where the odds are always better. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! I paid 15 for a burrito that ABSOLUTELY SUCKS! Their idea of chicharrones are pork skins out of a bag $3 for 5 of them! The burrito has no flavor and the green sauce has no flavor either! Place is ridiculously priced, you'd get better food at Chipolte!! read more

We were really excited to try this place because of the reviews and the food looked great. Unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations at all. Upon being seated we probably waited for about 10-15 minutes before anyway came to even give us water, and when he did he said our waitress would be out shortly and turned to get orders from the table next to us. Our waitress came out another 10 minutes later. My girlfriend ordered the tacos and said they were just okay. I got the lamb quesadilla and aside from being surprisingly small was more on the cold side than hot. The yuca fries we ordered were solid though. Since the lamb quesadilla didn't feel like its fill me up I ordered a taco that I waited 20 minutes for before cancelling the order. The service here wasn't timely and having good come.out cold made us feel like the staff wasn't paying attention. The family next to us who had the same waitress were also unhappy with their service and were waiting forever for their food to the point that the mom rightfully asked to speak with a manager. I want this place to succeed because we need good restaurants in town. Tried it twice. Both times the food arrived not hot, although it was fairly tasty. Margaritas get a thumbs up for having a coin option, but could have used some tequila. Wait staff was better second time. First visit we came mid afternoon, 7 diners, and had to ask for water three different times. It was about 15 minutes before any of us got a glass, no refill was ever offered. It was not crowded. We went a few weeks after opening looking forward to a good dinner, nice remodel from Andrea's. The service was very slow, never got drinks refilled. We ordered the three taco dinner , chips & Salsa, the salsa was flavorless just chopped up vegetables and the habanero had no bite. The tacos were so bland I ordered jalapenos to try to add some flavor, didn't help. Both times we ordered the salsa sampler so we could try some of the many salsas they have and they were all really good. We also all ordered different tacos each time and they were all really good. Fantastic food!!! I'm so impressed with the quality and great prices. I tried the short rib taco- melt in your mouth with an amazing sauce and crispy onions. Wow. The calabacita taco with poblano peppers was flavorful and an excellent veg friendly taco. Tried the special pineapple upside down cake with tequila soaked pineapple and Italian maraschino cherries and fresh whipped creme. Seriously amazing. Great service. Family friendly fun atmosphere. I haven't been able to find good Mexican food in Lyons ever since Cilantro Mary closed down so I'm glad this place opened up. I had chips with habanero salsa which was very hot but also a little sweet. Very good. I ordered the three taco plate with the rice and beans. I forget which three tacos I ordered but they were full of flavor, definitely not bland, very filling. The rice and beans was also seasoned very well and tasted good with the tacos. I ate there for the first time. It's a nice place. The service was great. The ambiance is good. The food was interesting and well made, but bland. The only sauce available is a bottled bland chili sauce. I would like to see them spice it up by always serving dishes with a side sauce of their own making, if they are not going to make the food spicy itself. They should also have more bottled sauce choice. I'm surprised that they don't have a salsa bar. Many taquerias do. Also, by spicy I don't mean hot, I mean spicy as flavor. read more

My girlfriend and I went here for dinner. We ordered tacos and they were tiny and the soft taco they use were cold and mealy. It was expensive. We talked to a staffer about it, who just said they use authentic tacos that they get elsewhere. We suggested they have hard taco shells and he said no. The chips and salsa were not complimentary like they are at many other Mexican restaurants. We won't ever return. read more

After reading a rave review I was excited to try this place. Finally, the timing was right on a Saturday night and we tried it out. But, we won't be back. First, they sat me at a two top while my husband looked for parking. I said to the host that the setting sun was glaring such that it would be horrible for one of us and asked if they had a blind for the window. They did not have a blind but the host stated "you'll be fine" and left. It was not doable so we went back to the host station and asked to be moved. A side person, not sure who she was, got up in my face that if we moved we'd wait for service. I felt like I was an unwanted diner. We were happy to be seated and would not mind a wait on a Saturday night. Anyway, the service ended up being the best part of the experience. Our waitress, Christi, was superb, a true professional. But the food...oy. $4 for so so salsa and mediocre chips. Limited 'new style" menu. The tacos were tasty but $11 for 2 tacos with rice and beans. The rice and beans were inedible. We are VERY excited to have another dining option in Lyons, and the food & service have not disappointed. My husband and I have been there 3 times already and we now have our favorites: for appetizer - the queso fundido (huge appetizer), and the salsa dos chiles (very flavorful), and for entree - the smoked chicken enchiladas with the red sauce. They are packed with lots of chicken, and the sauce is very tangy and tasty. Very filling with the rice, and the price is very reasonable. We've loved the drinks as well - especially the mezcalrita. The owners and servers are very responsive to requests and feedback. It's great to see other families and friends there -- so reflective of Lyons' tight-knit community. read more
