Food was just ok. We sat at the bar and service was very slow - she was all alone and very busy, but it was irritating! We ordered a pitcher of Ed's Margaritas and it was just a wine carafe full!! It was $40!!! The restaurant was decorated just average. The food and drink was very overpriced! I was not impressed!

Street tacos and chips and queso

Walked in for lunch at opening. We sat out back patio which is great overlooking the river. All the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We are visiting from NC and our meals were fantastic. The salsa has great flavor and a little heat. I got the street tacos, which they allow you to mix flavors, I got the pork, beef and bison which were all excellent. Hubby got the bison enchiladas which he liked as well. Overall one of the best Mexican meals I've had.

Never had a bad meal here! We took some family here for lunch after visiting the Stanley. I must admit..... the avocado margarita was a strong pull for visiting :-) The food is definitely delicious and always comes out plated so pretty. Service is always great. We sat in the bar and didn't have a wait. The place is decorating very nice and comfortably. We always enjoy our stops here!

Left over fajita meat AFTER the adults ate!

We went late on our first evening in Estes Park, and it was one of the few places still open after 8. We shared the combo fajitas for two, and there was easily enough meat to feed four adults. We also tried the bison tacos and started with the queso blanco and homemade salsa--both bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. Service wasn't the best, but the food more than made up for it. For dessert, we ordered sopapillas and fried ice cream. The sopapillas were very good and traditional, but the fried ice cream wasn't our favorite since it came with strawberry ice cream (we didn't realize it would be flavored, and none of us are fans of strawberry). The shell had great flavor, though. Overall, the queso, salsa, and main courses are the stars here, and the reason this is still a 4-star spot for us.

Fast friendly service and a delicious marg and meal! We had the carne asada and it was tender and flavorful! Loved the corn too! Ambiance is casual with booths and cool local artwork!

Food was decent, not amazing. Margaritas were good. Honestly, the biggest disappointment here was the service. Yet again showcasing that women in their 40s are invisible. Considering we're the best tippers, this is so dumb on their part. We were seated promptly. Took a good 15 mins before the waiter came over and took our drink order and then kind of rushed us into ordering food immediately. Which was fine, we were ready, just felt awkward. Food came and not once did anyone check on us. In fact, we had to go up to the bar to get our check from our waiter. And even then had to chase him down to the other end of the bar. Absolutely ridiculous and no apologies or care. Pretty embarrassing bringing my friend from out of town. I'm only in Estes once a year or so but I definitely won't be visiting this place again.

We stopped by at Ed's Cantina and grill on our trip to Rocky Mountain NP. We were starving and this place had great reviews and good vegetarian options. We ordered chips and salsa and mexican corn soup. Both were great. Kiddo loved the soup. Salsa had a nice kick to it. I ordered the chile en nogada. It was a good hearty dish with fresh veggies like sweet potatoes and poblano chile in cashew mole and rice and beans. Husband ordered the veggie enchiladas which had similar sauces. Kiddo ordered the chicken tenders with fries. The fries were good. Hot and crispy and very well seasoned. Overall we were impressed with the quality of food and quick friendly service by Cheryl.

If you are craving Mexican food while you are o. Estes Park, then Ed's Cantina and grill is great idea. Located downtown, the place has a great authentic ambiance, artwork and lighting. The food was delicious and was some of the best Mexican food I ever had.

The avocado margarita is the best drink I think I've ever had! Their food is also really great. Our server was so nice and the food came out sooo quickly! Highly recommend checking this place out while you're in town.

Came here on a Sunday with a group of 6 and had a good meal. We tried a variety of items and overall it was good, but nothing special. Service was great. - The bison enchiladas I shared with my wife were good, but it lacked cheese and flavor. - The queso we had was almost hardened and inedible unfortunately. - The fried green beans were amazing!

The bison tacos were amazing. I still think about them.. We wanted to stop by quickly for a quick bite before driving back to denver and the service was extremely fast. Our server was understanding and kind. The restaurant itself seemed to have a warm ambiance.

Really nice server and food was a little better than your standard basic Mexican fare. Beans and rice were still them same but happy they had vegetarian enchiladas with zucchini and squash for me and bison enchiladas for my husband. Overall good but a little expensive since I was hoping for a slightly more elevated experience.

We came in while here on vacation based on great reviews. There were five of us and we were quickly seated. All of us tried a margarita of some sort. I had a frozen strawberry one and it was tasty. The chips and salsa (extra charge) were good and a great way to start since we were hungry. I ordered a chicken fajita bowl. And left off the green peppers. It had great flavor and was really fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed it. All five of us enjoyed the food we ordered. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We weee seated in a booth that comfortably held all five of us. The place is casual. We would recommend it.

In my opinion there's a difference between Mexican and TexMex. The Yelp reviews are not good for this place. That's why I do what I do. I give my honest opinion and don't rely on what others say. So it is, yes it place is more expensive than most Mexican restaurants, it is however in a tourist town so that will explain some of it, but the small things matter to me. I got water served in a glass glass and not those cheesy red plastic cups that never feel clean even if they are. So nice glass #1. Good service #2, fantastic presentation #3 and good tasting food #4 so that's a winner for me. The best tasting Mexican restaurant in town!!! Yes it's more expensive and I'm fine with it being a little more expensive with what I just mentioned. 8.95 for chips and salsa well that's a bit too crazy, when I come from the Dallas area where chips and salsa are free, that's a little hard to swallow. There no apps that are under 15 pretty much a bit crazy. Otherwise my fish taco were really good. I loved the salsa everything had great flavor so this is a winner for me oh and a good selection of nice sipping Tequilas

The place is definitely small inside, but it had a nice atmosphere and the service was really good from start to finish. For appetizers, we ordered the chips, queso, and salsa. I ordered the street tacos -- three carne asada and two chicken -- topped with cilantro and onions, plus an extra al pastor taco because I wanted to try it. Out of all of them, the al pastor was my favorite. The meat was super tender and flavorful. I wasn't a huge fan of the mango on it though; I would've preferred pineapple instead, but I just picked the mango out and still enjoyed it. My husband and I also shared a side of rice and beans. The beans were decent, although a little salty. The rice, unfortunately, was the low point for me. It honestly had almost no flavor and kind of tasted burnt. This should have been warning that things may not be up to par. After taking our order we were surprised to find out that chips and salsa was considered an appetizer and not free unlike 99% of all other Mexican restaurants. We decided to order it regardless. Thankfully, the salsa was good. When the entrees came out, mine was completely different from what I ordered. (I ordered a Chimichanga and an enchilada dish came out. Wuuut?) The server was apologetic and ran it back to the kitchen. Soon the Chimichanga came out and we started to eat. My partner ate a chili relleno and said it was soggy in the middle and hard as a rock on each end...ie nuked and not cooked. My Chimichanga was also soggy. It tasted OK, but I've never eaten a non crispy one...so again....probably thrown in a microwave and not cooked properly. On the way out of the restaurant, you can see into their pantry. We saw canned tomatoes among other non-fresh items. Really? Not even fresh tomatoes? So this place nukes non fresh items and serves them up as restaurant quality. No. Just no. The only reason why this isn't a one star is the servers were polite and nice. Do yourselves a favor and don't eat here if you want authentic FRESH Mexican food.
