Better than expected. Had the baja fish and arrachera tacos. Both were delicious. Others at my table enjoyed the short rib taco as well.

Someone get these guys a rice cooker. The tacos were incredibly hit or miss. Ranging from wonderfully spicy and savory to undercooked, bland and chewy. The rice they serve alongside the tacos was even undercooked. My compatriots has much better luck with their smothered burritos (though they also complained about the rice). At $4 a taco I would say these certainly weren't executed well enough to justify the price. read more

My husband and I finally tried this place after passing by a few times, the appeal on the outside matched the fun, comforting atmosphere on the inside. Of course we went for the chips and 3 salsa as an appetizer. How do you not try homemade salsa at a Mexican restaurant. We loved them all, and the chips the perfect amount of saltiness. We ordered tacos, they were incredible! Melt in your mouth, great flavor! Only reason I give it a 4 stars is for their margaritas. They are good, they definitely make the mix in house but the difference between the regular marg and the less sweet, less ingredients marg is basically the same. read more

We usually hit up Mojo's after hiking, and it always hits the spot. Now, in the time of Covid, things are a bit different-but no less tasty. You order at the window off the the parking lot and have a seat outside (or call ahead for take out). The menu has changed slightly, but all the flavors you loved before are still there to please your palate. Lots of options, and friendly, helpful staff to help you steer through it all with suggestions. Ordered 4 appetizers. The first three came after an hour and fifteen minutes. The 4th came 20 minutes after. They gave us a round of waters but nothing after that. We had to cancel our order of entrees after 1hr 50 minutes of waiting. Food was good but the services quality was absolutely awful. Never to return. Not to mention they ran out of chips three times! We received some recommendations to come here from the locals as we were driving up to Estes Park. We are happy to see them offer Mezcal! The staff is very nice and friendly. I had the pozole and their conchinita spicy taco. Both were good. The tamarind rose mezcal is really good. We'll definitely come back the next time we are in town. read more

Great place to come for happy hour. Margaritas were very tasty and reasonably strong, service was very friendly, and food was delicious. We got carnitas nachos, a couple tacos, and yucca fries, all were very good, a notch more gourmet than your standard texmex fare. Our party of 5 enjoyed our meals and cocktails. The guacamole is very tasty and the salsa was good but a bit bland. You have to pay for chips and salsa and they are a bit over priced. These should be complimentary. Our party enjoyed the tacos, vegetarian enchiladas, carne asada and the torta mexican sandwich. read more

If I'd posted an ad last month about my Tex Mex food experience in CO, it would have looked something like this: Forlorn Texan Transplant Seeks Good Taqueria in the North Front Range. There are a lot of places that try - Cyclhops, noble effort. Centro, also. Torchys in Westminster is from TX to start and is awesome with but shoot, I'm not driving 45 minutes for a darn taco. Plus, torchys - as much as I love it- is very fast casual. So when we decided to check out Mojo it was with great, but tempered expectations. And they were absolutely met. Atmosphere is fantastic. Sit on the bar side though in the winter, the non- bar side is a little lacking in the festive ambiance. Hubby and I got chips and salsa combo, the short rib, chicken tinga and fried avocado tacos. Everything was excellent but the short rib absolutely knocked it out of the park. The savory short rib with tart and crunchy pickled onion, creamy and spicy chipotle aoli and crispy fried onions was just a perfect combo. Their house margaritas are also very easily the best I've had in CO. Our server was great and food was crazy fast. It's a bit of a drive from south longmont, so we probably won't be back every week- but I can definitely see coming up here pretty regularly. read more

I love this place. The food is great, and the margaritas are amazing. We often get the carnitas bowl and an assortment of tacos, and every time we've enjoyed them. I usually get a lettuce wrap instead of a tortilla and I'm still so satisfied! The jalapeño salsa is creamy and almost taste like a quest dip! I would give it 5 stars, but often times it's an hour or more before we get our food and chips and salsa are not complimentary--they are actually really pricey. Maybe we were just really cold and really hungry, but lunch on Sunday at Mojo on a cold day was without a flaw. The service was attentive, but not over-bearing. The chips, salsa and guac trio was well priced ($10) with generous portions and great flavors. The guac had chunks of avocado and was balanced in flavor, clearly hand made to order. The salsas were unique (the jalapeno was the favorite), and we would have bought a jar to take home if given the chance. The menu is clearly marked with gluten free options, which are extensive. Mojo offers plenty of appetizers beyond chips and salsa, tacos, tostadas and large plates. You can make a full meal out of 2 or 3 tacos by adding beans and rice. We shared the pork carnitas bowl, which was kindly split for us without a charge, and was generously portioned, fresh, hot and perfect for the winter day. There are plenty of choices for drinks, from margaritas to wine. This place would be the perfect hangout in the summer after a long hike, or even after a day on the slopes. I'm in love. We literally missed the turn to Boulder on our way to Estes Park and didn't discover our error until we got to Lyons hungry. We just happened to spot this place as we drive by. First, everything on the menu is marked for gluten. My glass of Zin was tasty despite our distance from Paso Robles. My husband's reposado margarita was tasty, but strong! You've been warned. We both had pork: I had the carnitas bowl and he had the tacos with cochinita pibil. His were fiery delicious, as advertised. My bowl was huge; come hungry. But here's the best part; they have what is quite possibly the best guacamole I've ever had, and I live where 80% of the avocados in the US are grown. One final kudo: as I was thinking about this review while eating, I was only going to give them 4 stars because the service was slow. About half way through the meal, a new server presented himself. Came here with my friends and my dog after a hike near Estes Park. The patio was dog-friendly, which was huge for us. The tacos were awesome as well, especially the short rib taco. Trendy Mexican food - was a great date night out. We got lots of different things to try. 1. 3 salsas and chips - very thin salsa (kind watery) our favorite was the mango but definitely hot 2. Elotes - it was more 'inspired' by Mexican elotes than truly tasting like it 3. Tacos! As a frequent business traveler and Lyons local I have a taste for excellent food and service which is hard to come by in a small town. Mojo is a much needed option and overall a great restaurant even outside of Lyons. The service that Christy our waitress provided was superb. The tacos where fantastic with a very nice presentation. The only room for improvement would be the margarita. Could be personal preference as it was too sweet for my taste. All around a great experience and nice atmosphere. I highly recommend. read more

Perhaps it would be best to staff more than two people on a busy, summer Saturday evening. Would not recommend! The food is very small portions for pretty price! We had 7 people 5 adults and two kids. Everyone got something different taco wise, chicken is dry (even kids said this) and they don't offer ground beef endless on kids menu. They give you very small glasses for water. Service is slow. There food options are very odd not a lot of options. Even there rice and beans was not good and doesn't come with kids options. Very overpriced for small amount of food that's not good. Wow, never knew this was in Lyons. Saw the 4.5 stars and stopped in. So worth it. The Tacos were so, so good. Spices were perfect. Not too hot but just excellent flavors. Tried three different Tacos, fish, short rib, and beef. All excellent. The elotes which was corn on the cob with drizzle of chipotle and cheese were so good and had never seen before. This place was terrible! Service was terrible! It looked like the waitress was working hard but looked like not enough help. I sat there for at least 20 minutes for them to get me a house Margarita. No complimentary chips and salsa. It cost me $5.00 for chips and 3 salsas. I think it was $4.00 for chips and one salsa. I was waiting for 3 or 4 more people that had not arrived yet for 30 or to 45 minutes. So I guess the bar tender didn't like that because I had a table for 6 which the hostess recommended. So the bar tender came out and said It looks like your friends might not make it? We might have to make other arrangements for you. Wth!
