I had some visible mold and areas with water damage and overall a great experience working with Miguel, Raul and the rest of the team. If you need someone to open up walls, deal with mold, and close it up, they'll do a great job. The work was on-time and Miguel was clear about checking in and setting/re-setting expectations. Whenever I called, someone answered quickly. They sent over an estimator promptly who was able to assess the situation and the scope of work needed. This matched what we ended up paying. The team recognized that we'd need our HVAC temporarily disabled so they found and coordinated a specialist coming in to do that work and just included it in the bill. The work was professional, the workers arrived on-time, and the work was great. I had another remediation company come and they told me Moldman's quote was much more competitive than they could offer. The improvements I wish for are relatively minor. We didn't know the source of the leak, so we had to find and schedule a plumber to come in. The other issue is cosmetic. The paint used once the walls were filled back in is not a match to our prior walls, so it is clear that work was done. We've had a musty smell in our pantry for a month and got a mold detection analysis (for $350!) that told us there was some mold but nothing more. We reached out to Mold Man and Miguel asked to see the report. We sent it over and instead of pushing a pro clean or other unnecessary items on us, he said it didn't look like there was an active water problem but he would swing by and help us look for the source. Th next day he came by the house and inspected our pantry with his moisture camera and explained how everything looked dry and wouldn't push a clean on us. We live in California but are selling a house in Illinois. After our renters moved out, the house was absolutely filthy so we came back for three weeks to fix the house up to put on the market for sale. Days before we were headed back to California we went up in the attic, just as a last-minute check to make sure everything was good. We should have gone sooner!!! Directly above the Bathroom was a stripe of mold in the attic ceiling. Yikes! I started calling mold remediation companies immediately. Following my previous review, Greg, the owner, reached out to me and expressed concern, explaining the situation. Apparently, a confluence of factors occurred, and a handful of customers were affected in this way. I was assured that measures have been taken to prevent it from happening again. He also offered to do the complete job for me in one day, at a deeply discounted price. I decided to take him up on the offer, but thought I would have to wait until spring, since the winter was upon us and the area in question was an unheated garage. Our unusually warm weather presented the possibility of doing it right away. Well, once the ceiling was opened, wetter than expected wood was revealed. The workers did what they could, but had to leave it open to dry before treating it. They even provided a heater to facilitate the process. A couple of days later, the dry-waller returned to treat the wood and repair the ceiling and wall. He did what he could, but needed to allow the mud to dry and return the next day to finish. The final result is amazing! It looks better than when I bought the house, and nicer than some areas inside the house. These guys worked for three days to be sure the job was "done right", rather than just "done fast", and didn't skimp on quality, even though it was just a garage and didn't need to look perfect. I am terribly impressed. The price quoted would have been reasonable even without the discount. I will absolutely use them again, and have already recommended them to friends. read more
