I am not the type of person to leave nasty reviews, but how my husband is being treated is insane. He had a recall on his fuel pump which of course failed the day before his appointment. He had to pay $200 to get it towed to the dealership then to proceed to wait a week for the repair without being called it got completed and the day he picked it up. It failed not long after that. Then to have to proceed to pay another $200 to get it towed back and it not be reimbursed due to being told that the fuel in the truck is bad which would now require a cleaning for an additional $939. He is a military service member who relies on his vehicle on a daily basis and it's not the timeframe of the repair because I know we're not the only people on this planet that need our car to be taken care of, but however, the fact that we are being told that he has to now pay out of pocket when there is no proof that it is not the dealership's fault. If this is how you take care of your military service members, I'd hate to see how you take care of a civilian like me. We will be contacting corporate along with the Better Business Bureau because there's no way you should get away with screwing people like that. read more

customer service. they looked up some parts for me and ordered them, 1 part was wrong. I had to go to a different dealership to get the right part. after completing the job I went back to Max to return the wrong part. they said since this is a special order part we can't return it... even if it's the wrong part. Ordered stuff from them in the past with no issues, but there are way to many dealerships to order from... just lost my business. read more

This place is horrible when they mess up . They changed my oil in my minivan and didn't tighten up the filter causing all the oil to run out , and damaging my motor . I had to get towed over 60 miles, miss work a couple of days, and then they didn't even offer me a loaner van or a rental van for the first 16 days no rental places had a van so I had to rent one from an individual for 14 days at $75 per day . I use the van for work so I had to have a van. .they would not reimburse me and acted like they did me a favor by even repairing my vehicle. The service manager was a real jerk . I haven't been reimbursed for the $283 tow bill either even though I emailed my tow receipt and they refused to reimburse me for the rental because it was from an individual . I've been coming here for years prior to the taking over and I can say I'll never go back or recommend any one. They are only kind when u spending your money but when they make a mistake they don't take care of you like they should. read more

This post does not come without inner turmoil. I do not like to post negative things at all. I purchased a vehicle from Max Motors in Belton back in 2022 and I am still waiting for the title. I have reached out numerous times and keep getting passed around, yet I'm still not any closer to getting my title. I have email correspondence stating that they are "working on it", and it's in process", and "it takes a while to get a title from an out of state dealer." It's my understanding that dealerships have 30 days to provide the title or 60 days if there's a delayed agreement. Max Motors please do better! read more

I have been dealing with Dominick and the financing for over 60 days with no success. I know this to be true thanks to my expired temp tags. I keep getting the run around and no solid answers. And they told me they sold my trade in but it's still on my credit. Don't use them for financing, bring your own! read more

This dealer should be avoided at all costs. My autistic son and his intellectually impaired wife went to this dealer in September 2023. They usually have $300 or $400 to their name. The used car salesman sold them a damaged Mitsubishi and an expensive warranty , all financed to the tune of $600 per month for 6 years! My son had no idea what he was getting into. How a business can take advantage of disabled people is beyond me. A truly shameful operator. I hope they sleep at night. This kid's credit is ruined and the value of the piece of crap decreased by 50% when i paid it off. They should not be in business read more

I saw on social media that Max Motors was doing free oil changes for first responders and essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. My car was needing an oil change so I made an appointment brought my car in and they had measures in place to avoid direct contact with the public. There was a slot to drop off your keys and an envelope to write your information and service you request. They had plenty of chairs and benches outside all spaced out and lucky it was a nice day so I sat outside while my car was being serviced. In less then an hour I got a call that my car was done and shortly after it was brought around to me. It's good to know that some businesses will take care of people during hard times and I will keep Max Motors in mind the next time I am in the market for a car. read more

3 hours dealing with condescending salesmen and typical bait and switch tactics, ( oh we JUST sold that one) to finally walk out to take my 2017 Escape Titanium home. Popped the back hatch accidentally to discover no floorboard in the back, literally the spare and jack compartment with nothing to cover it. Here is where it gets good. Josh, the salesman tries to tell me it's not supposed to have one, then when I object , tries to convince me the seats fold down to make the floor. Let's just forget the attempt to gaslight a female, and move to "oh I'll look around the lot to see what I can find " I have been to the dealership and sent text messages to Josh and Jordan, the sales manager who said he would escalate but I haven't heard anything back and no responses when I inquire . I don't usually use the female card , but these guys clearly think women are idiots and have no problem treating them as such. I sincerely hope Bob Jacaway and Mark Muller know how badly female clients are treated. Still no solution to my problem or even the pretense of giving a crap. Do better. read more

What started as a bad experience ended up amazing when Rob "The Man" Chen got involved. He got me into the vehicle I wanted at the price and rate I wanted! No hassling needed. He preached customer service and wanted to make sure I was extremely happy. In return I wanted to send him more business. A friend needed her car fix so I suggested Max Motors. After several long run around conversations and trips back and forth it was Friday and I needed to get this done and right. I remember how straight forward, sincere and honest Rob was so even though it wasn't his department and I wasn't buying a car, he went out of his way and got things moving and done like it was nobody's business!! I was extremely impressed. He is a true leader who goes above and beyond showing what customer service really means. As long as Mr. Chen is there I will always refer customers there because I can trust him and you should too!!! He brings tremendous value to Max Motors and as long as he is there, Max Motors is in good hands!! read more

Please do not consider using Max Ford of Harrisonville for your next car-shopping experience. I found a used Explorer on Autotrader.com listed by Max Ford of Harrisonville, MO. Only a year old, low mileage, exact colors and equipment I was looking for, and listed at a reasonable price. I used the Autotrader contact dealer inquiry, giving them my name, email, and phone number. Within 10 minutes, I received a phone call from Dalton, informing me that the vehicle was available, and could he schedule an appointment to look at the vehicle. He was extremely courteous. I said I was very interested, but told him I lived 191 miles away (3 hours 8 minutes according to Google Maps), and therefore asked him to please double-check with the Managers to make sure that the Explorer was still there, and there were no deals in progress or pending on the car. I told him I knew that if an individual walked in before me they were right to sell it, but felt that if nothing was in process the car would still be there. He hung up, called me back 5 minutes later, and assured me the car was still there, no offers or deals were in process, and set me up an appointment with Tony, the salesman, for 4 hours later. Dalton told me Tony would meet me in the lobby with the car waiting for a test drive. I got ready and left within 15 minutes, after checking my emails to see that I had received three different emails from the dealership, informing me the vehicle was in stock and confirming my appointment at 2 pm with Tony, the Product Expert per his email title, not salesperson. Upon arriving at the dealership, I had to circle the lot twice to find a parking spot. There were literally no parking spots for customers, with the few spots next to the showroom being filled with random new cars with no plates. The dealership is very old and packed with vehicles outside, including service cars, customer cars, and inventory cars mixed in a disorganized fashion. Parking in a space on the lot between two new cars out in the lot and walking in, we were greeted by a gentleman who asked who we wanted to see. I told him Tony, he asks me to wait, and he walks across the lobby to a little bistro table 24" in diameter, with a salesman (Tony) with a laptop and a customer. No offices for sales, just little tables in a very crowded lobby. Other customers are standing and sitting around. We are informed Tony is with a customer, but he would be with us shortly. So much for making appointments. Tony, after about 7 minutes, comes over to introduce himself and asks our names (my wife is with me). I tell him, then he asks what car we are interested in. I tell him the 2022 Explorer, and remind him I was told that I had an appointment and was told the car would be waiting. He tells us "oh, we never get the appointment information, so I never know". He asks me again what car, I tell him the 2022 Explorer, and he frowns. He says, "I better double-check". He quickly checks the computer and informs me the car was gone yesterday. "I am really sorry" he says, "they should check with me first", "I did already" I tell him, and I demand to see the manager. I get to meet Josh, the sales manager. After speaking out loud, not yelling, but firmly, Josh quickly ushers me outside of the dealership. Josh, the sales manager, also does not have an office, but sits behind a counter in the same lobby where all of the deals and customers are, hence his quick escort of me and my wife out of earshot. He begins to apologize profusely, telling me Dalton did check with him, there were no deals working, but he forgot that he had shipped that vehicle to another one of their dealerships hundreds of miles away. He offered to fill my tank, but I had filled up just before arriving at the dealership. He then tells me he can make me an incredible deal on a new car, that he would lose money on it to help me out. I quickly see how well-oiled this operation was, and my wife and I drive back another 191 miles. Seven hours of my life lost. Long story short, while remaining polite the entire time, this dealership is absolutely lost. The phone personnel never communicate with salespeople, or the salespeople ignore it, there is no customer waiting area, no parking, you negotiate deals with several other customers just feet away, sitting at a tiny table in uncomfortable chairs, no privacy, the inventory system does not clearly show what car is where (even the Sales Manager did not know), but once you are there, they will apologize and try to sell you what they do have on the lot. They were polite, but disorganized, incompetent, lack facilities and space, and are buried with their present load. If you want to see what they have, just go by and walk the lot yourself, don't call or ask for help. You'll save yourself a lot of time and trouble. And DO NOT waste any time driving more than 15 minutes to get there. There are other dealers closer that can do a much better job. read more

Sales people initiated calls asking me to come in to trade the 2021 Wrangler I bought there. The caller told me they would give me what I bought it for in 2021. I even talked to the guy about the specific price. He told me they would do it if I bought a newer model. More than one person called me. Finally I went in and of course it was a lie and a big waste of time. Bate and switch basically. I will mention I have no damage, and only 17k miles. I told the manager to take my name out of there database and I wi turn them in to no call list if they ever call again. AVOID this dealer. read more

On a Monday in October, I pur based a 2014 Ford Focus hatchback from Max Motors in Belton. The sales experience was good although when I checked my credit score a couple weeks later my score had decreased by over 50 points because of the numerous inquiries from banks that the dealership contacted to finance the car...752 to 701. The car smelled of cigarette smoke and I was told to come back the next day (Tuesday) to have it cleaned with a special chemical. I brought it back and found out that the service dept did not have the right chemical and could I come back the next day (Wednesday) Which I did. It worked. But driving back home from Belton that day the check engine light came on. I called when I got home. I was told to bring it back the next day (Thursday) While waiting to hear, the sales manager told me that they needed to take the car to Harrisonville to their Ford service place. and would probably need to keep it over the weekend. So they did and gave me a loaner. I called the Harrisonville service place the next afternoon (Friday) to see if they had located the problem. They had, it was fixed and was back in Belton. I had not been contacted by Belton so I called and it was ready. End of saga. I really like the car but having to drive from Waldo and back every day for 5 days exasperated mea bit. read more

While In the area On 3-17 max motors installed a thermostat and coolant sensor bc my husband said the heat/ac wasnt working properly My Jeep started to overheat. Had it towed to my dealer in St. Louis mo. Per the statement from my dealer max motor installed aftermarket thermostat which was stuck shut, blew coolant all over engine saturated filter causing engine to overheat. Contact max motor today was told mgr was busy. When I questioned the person that answered phone he admitted they use aftermarket parts frequently. I asked if Jeep corporate approved and he said someone would call me and hung up. Didn't ask for my #. Don't do business with Max Motors. read more

I blocked him after a couple days but he was able to leave a message and did so in a very arrogant, disrespectful way. I will never darken their business, being treated this way when only inquiring about a car, I can just imagine how I would get treated once I went into the business. I went in a couple weeks ago and purchased a car there. Transaction went fine. Very friendly salesperson. There was a missing bracket thing around the gas cap. They were going to order the part and I was going to bring the car back to have it put on. I got a call about a week later that the part was in. We scheduled a time. All good so far. I showed up early for my apt. They took the car in and I sat in the waiting room. After 2.5 hours, I figured I'd go check on it. It should have been a pretty quick fix. They said that there were actually 2 pieces and they only ordered one. Could I come back next week? I told them I'd call back to schedule, but it's an hour drive each way, and they never could find a Sat apt. I went out and looked and they didn't have the one part installed, so I am questioning what took 2.5 hours while I was there. That was last Thursday and I still haven't had a call that the other part was in. Will update when I get it resolved. 2 Stars are for the sales process. Great Experience.
