I have never known an Iranian restaurant like this--at once totally authentic (Omar clearly knows what traditional Iranian food is supposed to taste like, (whether it's from the grill, the stewing pot, or scraped off the bottom of the rice pot) but he also takes liberties that always *improve* on the meal (his grilled jalapeños, the way his kebabs have a little more *kick* to them, his phenomenal barley/ash hybrid soup that is probably the most delicious thing I've ever had from his kitchen. I rarely leave a review but in this case, I feel it's mandatory! I decided to pick up some food to watch the game and really felt like some sorta bbq tasty clean kinda food. When I got there, I was greeted by a super friendly gentleman. When I got home and opened the containers, I realized that the gentleman in question is a very skilled chef! The beef, the chicken, the rice, the salsas, the fluffy whole-wheat pita, the juicy lemon and grilled vegetables were all chef's kiss indeed. Let me preface this by saying out of the handful of times I've tried this place out, I haven't been disappointed by a single plate yet. The boneless chicken is hands down my favorite with the shrimp coming in close second. I'm not even a big fan of beef but for their koobideh I will make an exception. All the meat options have been tender and juicy. The portion sizes are RIDICULOUS. Normally I have to eat this for lunch and dinner to finish a box because there's just so much food packed in there. The hummus is a classic, slam dunk. I'd never tried shirazi salad until getting some on the side here but now I don't think there's any other way I'd want to eat my plate. Mixing it with the rice offers an amazing balance of tartness and added depth of flavor. Employees are very friendly and take time explaining what the different options are which I found helpful (not very familiar with this type of food). The best part for me is watching my order come out and getting it grilled in front of me! Turn around from order to receiving plate was about 10ish minutes, not bad at all. Parking can be a bit tight; if you don't get lucky with the small lot you may have to go down the street and find a spot to get out. Honestly for this food I find it 100% worth it and will make it a point to pick up any time I'm in LA. read more

Usually don't review but this place is really really good. I got the chicken and beef combo and for the amount of food that you get the price compared to other kebab places was very reasonable. One of the biggest complaints I have at other places is that the meats can go dry and the rice is undercooked and is almost crunchy. This place cooks the meat right in front of you on charcoal I believe and the meat was juicy and the rice is soft and tasty. They just started 6 weeks ago at the time of this review but I know they're going to make it big. Really wish them nothing but success. The service I got from them was great too. Come on Yelp you guys are doing a disservice to this business. THEY ARE OPEN! At first, there was a language barrier but once we go it together it was good. I ordered the rack of lamb kabob which I had low expectations because more time then not I get home and I am disappointed. Usually the lamb chops are small and dried out, tough or some combination of various degrees of messed up. Well I asked the cook to add extra rice and Pita and some extra grilled veggies. He did this and never once tried to be like oh its gonna cost you seven bucks for extra veggies and five extra bucks for a scoop of rice. He charged me a total of 2 bucks. He came out and asked how I like my lamb cooked, I said medium rare. Never had anyone cook my lamb how I like it unless I was a fine restaurant. Got home and proceeded to dig in. The rice was nice with the veggies and then I bit into the lamb and it was just under medium which meant if I would have ate there at the restaurant it would have been medium rare. The lamb was tender and tasty, WOW! best lam chop kabob I have had in a while and thats saying something because I am a true foodie from way back. All I can say is that this place is a gem in the rough and Yelp y'all need to got off your lazy assets and get the time right. read more
