I'd say TehranRo Grill was one of the most pleasant surprises I've had in a while, trying new places in Koreatown. I visited with my family to celebrate my birthday on a Tuesday evening, and we were seated promptly, with no wait time. Friendly people, cute little space, but it was the bursting flavors that really made this celebratory dinner unforgettable. We got the beef & lamb koobideh, chicken shish kabobs, and shrimp kabobs. My jaw was already on the floor when I saw the portions--but oh my goodness, everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The shrimp were so plump that even my picky choosy mom thoroughly enjoyed them! I actually get kabob cravings quite regularly. And to think all this time, I've been ordering underwhelming deliveries from the mid places when TehranRo Grill is just a short 10-minute drive from home? Damn. I've been missing out. I'll most certainly be returning and trying all of the different options. Can't wait.

Nice little place for dine in, with many tempting appetisers to choose from. We decided to try the eggplant delight, it's served warm and it's delicious! The soltani kabob was okay, not extraordinary. Tahchin was only available on weekends so we ordered this too, the baked rice was crispy on the outside and soft inside with shredded chicken in it sprinkled with barberries on top. The persian tea is just hot black tea, I do like it slightly bitter with no sugar. Service is excellent, definitely a five star. There's valet parking available for $4.

At last! Finally tried TehranRo in K Town. Cute little authentic joint with extremely attentive and kind service. Food is yummy! Ordered a combo plate - chicken and beef were both really tasty but I preferred the chicken. Must try!

    What a great story.

Food: This place is Top Notch. 10 out of 10. I am a Persian food Connossieur and this is some of the best I have had. The service is friendly and the food comes out quick and executed to perfection. The vibe inside is modern, clean, and please see my pictures for the backstory of the Korean influence behind this place. You can eat in or I also noticed alot of customers picking up take out orders.

Such a great find. Thanks Yelp!!!! We stopped for dinner on our way to the airport and this place hit the spot. Great service as soon as we arrived through the final check. The food was so flavorful. My favorite was the koobideh kabob. So good. We also got the hummus too for a starter. It was a huge portion and very good. Overall excellent experience and would love to get back soon

Food here was delicious! Hummus is a must order!! Large portion but a little expensive. $26 on average. Service is both quick and friendly! Inside is very clean and comfortable overall.

Solid Persian/Middle Eastern restaurant in Koreatown! I visited this restaurant for an early Sunday dinner and my experience here was pretty good. Firstly, my friend and I were served an appetizer of flatbread and seasoned raw onions. We also ordered a hummus on the side. The hummus might have to be my favorite thing that we had here. It was so creamy and flavorful. It paired nicely with the onions wrapped up in the flatbread. It also paired well with the upcoming dishes we had. For the main entrée, I ordered the Koobideh Combination and it was good and standard. The minced chicken and beef logs were flavorful and juicy. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. Finally, the veggies were nicely charred and I liked how juicy the tomato was. The portion size was also massive. I had to to-go my leftovers which was good for 2 additional meals. For $23, it was a good value for the amount of food you get. The service was also good and our server was friendly and attentive. The interior was also nicely decorated and mostly clean despite being an older building. Overall, a solid experience here. I've had better Middle Eastern food elsewhere in LA, but this is a good option for an area that has predominantly Korean food options. There were also some Iranian families dining here when I visited, so you know the food is authentic.

Vibe: outdoor patio was nice and cozy Service: super friendly, even brought out water for the doggo that was with us! Food: so delicious - big portions, it could easily be 2 meals if I was going home, or you can share with someone. I had the koobideh, so tender!

Found this restaurant through yelp and would for sure recommend. We were greeted and led to a table as soon as we entered. Definitely a welcoming and friendly environment. The food was delicious, lots of good and healthy options. Also loved that the restroom was clean and so was the restaurant as a whole.

This has to be my favorite place in ktown. The food is DELICIOUS. I can eat my whole plate (but I won't feel good doing so lol). My go to dishes are the koobideh combination plate and hummus! I don't know how they get their koobideh to be so tender after being on the grill. Their flatbread for the hummus is addicting. I can eat stacks of it!!! I always leave happy and extremely full. Cannot wait to come back!

They were supper attentive and friendly. After I ordered I sat outside to people watch which was honestly really nice. Reminded me of Paris. My food came promptly thus after. Recently, we were curious if our old go-to, Javan, was still any good. So, my wife and I dined there. The beef and chicken koobideh entrees were both excellent- so tender and juicy. This weekend, we have some friends visiting from San Francisco. As SF is a fantastic food town in its own right, we suggested two different food options that are better in L.A. than what you'll find up there: Korean BBQ or Persian food. The wife pushed a return to Javan. Alex, the manager, recommended the All Javan Combo for our party of 5. It includes tzatziki, hummus, salad, and flatbread to start followed by beef and chicken koobideh, chicken kabob, filet, lamb, and choice of rice. We added an eggplant stew with lamb shank and an extra skewer of chicken koobideh. Finished the meal off with hot tea, a sublimely-delicious saffron ice cream (house-made by Alex himself), baklava, and little bites that were like honey churro nubs. After we finished this feast of a meal, my daughter looked up at me and said, "This was one of the best Persian meals I've ever had." I must agree. This was a meal greater than the sum of its parts- food was very, very good and the experience was elevated by the warmth of Alex and his staff. It's rare that a restaurant works this hard to make its guests feel welcome. Free street parking and a full-bar (Alex is happy to whip-up a special cocktail for you). I give Javan my highest recommendation. Please eat here if you're in the mood for Persian food. Bon Appétit!

Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. My family and I went here one afternoon and as we sat down, the attendant from the restaurant told us that the specific table we were sitting on wasn't part of the restaurant and we were not going to be served if we sat there in a very rude tone. We went ahead and moved. Then we went up to the cashier to order our food and the two people that were there were busy talking to each other in farsi about a customer that just came and didn't tip along with some very vulgar language. Then as we were ordering, we told them it was our first time and we got no smile or anything, very still faces like whatever. We ordered two Koobideh wraps and a few other things. It was very uncomfortable. The Cashier didn't even speak to us. As we sat down we were "served" after we HAD to ask if we get bread and onions and water because we saw that they were taking those things to other tables. The Koobideh wrap tasted like Rubber and you could barely hold it together as it was drenched with the sauce and all soggy. Even my 1 year old wouldn't eat it. We had to open up the sandwiches and eat them with a fork. It was not a good experience. Tip for the owner: You should probably remind your employees that some of your customers are Persian and they will understand them talking shit.
