Chicken luleh kabob and lamb luleh kabob
    Madeleine B.

On a Friday early evening it wasn't crowded and was easy to get a seat. Service was very nice and attentive. We shared the halloumi appetizer, chicken manti, chicken and lamb luleh kabob, and the pistachio ice cream. Everything was so good! The luleh kabob and ice cream were definitely my favorite. Parking is pretty decent- there is a small lot in front, and plenty of street parking around the neighborhood.

Really great ambiance inside. Service was very good and the food was excellent. Parking was a bit tough but we're in LA - duh. I didn't love the lamb kabobs but the beef and chicken were really good. Also the hummus and falafel were delicious. Also, the rice was really tasty and different- not your standard plain white basmati rice. Highly recommend & will be back.

Small/medium sized restaurant with delicious food. Never had baba ganouch and it amazed me how good it is! The food is so cooked to perfection, I practically licked my plate clean. Definitely will be back for me. Con: Only valet parking during night time / limited spots in a parking lot

Marouch Restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Hollywood serving some of the best Lebanese and Armenian food in LA. The flavors are rich, authentic, and hand made. Service is warm and welcoming, making you feel like family. Don't leave without trying the baklava. It's some of the best I have ever had! Definitely coming back for more! Highly recommend!

Ferry Quail a must get at Marouch!!!

Atmospheric Lebanese Armenian run restaurant that is decorated as though it's in an old stone masonry building with faux arches. 0) Torshi/salt brined pickles of earthy red beets; pepperoni; small earthy, salty black olives along with Pita bread serves as a complimentary, "poor man's" Mezze which can be used later as accoutrement for the coming ordered dishes. 1) Gyro Lamb Shawarma is thyme scented, pleasantly slightly gamey, soft but with a touch of chaw. However, it was over cooked and might have been left under a heat lamp too long. 1a) Creamy, thick Hummus has a pleasant mouth feel, touch of lemon juice, garlic, sesame paste. 1b) Crunchy quick sautéed, funky-spicy onion w/ Somagh/sweet-sour dried, ground sumac fruit sprinkled on top. 1c) Short grain rice, butter scented, touch al dente was the main starch dish garnished with ice berg lettuce. 1d) Watery Tahini ground sesame dressing. 1e) Garnish of sliced Roma tomato, ice berg lettuce & parsley. All the above ingredients can be mixed and matched to be placed on pieces of Pita bread. 2) Ferry/quail: This may be the signature dish at Marouch. The two quails seem salt brined in a complex, smoky, aromatic herb mix like Za'atar which can contain thyme, marjoram, oregano. This deep infusion creates flavours that complement the meaty quail meat. Unfortunately, the quails were a bit overcooked over the grill so that meat, although fairly moist, became too firm and hard in spots. However, overall an excellent dish if one doesn't mind extracting the small bones from the meat. 2a) The boiled potatoes, that then seems baked, has a hint of sweetness and is paired with a luscious lemon, garlic, sour yogurt like sauce velouté that pairs so well. 2b) Slowly cooked caramelized onions were sweet, mellow, soft. 2c) Drizzling of agrodolce/sweet-sour, viscous pomegranate syrup really added a contrasting accent to all the herbalness. 2d) same above rice 1-2a) There are interesting wines from Lebanon influenced by French technique since France occupied Lebanon where Beirut was once called the Paris of the Middle East. However, you have to buy a full bottle so ordered the next best thing, beer from Beirut. Almaza Pilsener Pale Lager 4.2% is mild, smooth, refreshing, touch sweet with almost subliminal hops herbalness. A neutral tasting beer mainly serving as a palate cleanser. Dessert: 3) Mahalabie is like an Italian Panna Cotta where gelatine is added to sweetened milk. Slivered crunchy almonds, plumped sultana raisins, powdered pistachio are scattered along with a shallow pool of sweet rose water. Good light dessert that refreshes the palate. 4) Baklava here is a delight using a generous amount of crushed, fresh walnuts that exudes a sweet, hint of nutty, oily woodiness. Addition of dark seemingly caramelized honey has the perfect sweetness along with powdered pistachio. The ultra thin, multi-layered baked flaky, ethereally light, yet taut Filo pastry was exemplary. A must get at Marouch. I came on two different occasions: My waitress was cordial, up to the job and was welcoming. The waiter né Syria was more informed about the cuisine, and so he was able to answer my questions about food ingredients which I very much appreciated. However, two male staff members just stolidly, sphinx-like stood or sat without greeting or acknowledging in coming guests that created a disinterested, uncaring feeling to the restaurant. But that was a minor detail. The Ferry & Baklava were notable for great execution. 4- stars

You know that scene in ratatouille when Igor takes a bite and is transported back to his childhood? Well that happened to me when we dined at Marouch restaurant. Whatever magic theyre using in their kitchen it's working. They're located in a cozy parking lot with the vintage chic interior design. The hummus was so creamy, the babaganoush was Smokey, and the fluffy pita bread was fantastic. The falafel was a crispy and perfectly crumbly and that tahini sauce was fabulous. Also the sujuk needed a moment of its own. It was so delicious!!! The che ese borers were crunchy and the cheese stuffing was amazing. The grand finale was this mouthwatering platter. Their beef luleh was some of the best I've ever had. They told me it's a family recipe. Their lamb chops were so tender and juicy and the chicken was like biting into butter it was so soft. The mahalabieh was the best I've ever had. The rose water, the raisins. It all just works in harmony. Highly highly recommend!

    Ful Mudammas at Marouch. Yum!

Been coming here for years and I can't believe I've never written a review. Marouch is a Lebanese restaurant with the most amazing food. They have tons of vegan options and of course non vegan options which my husband enjoys. But since I'm vegan let me list off my favorite dishes! Their Full Mudammas live in my dreams...fava beans seasoned to perfection, the Muhammara also another favorite of mine and you can't go wrong with their hummus. All enjoyed with their freshly made pita and complimentary pickled veggies. For my entree I love their Moujadara which is a delicious mix of lentils and rice. Ooh also you have to get their garlic sauce....Zankou could never! They also offer beer and wine. Service is always welcoming and friendly. Extra points for having a parking lot right out front.

Came because of diner, drive-ins and dives, just as good as the hype :) would come again!

Incredible. All of it. The highlights were the Lebanese sausage, the ful mudammas, and the mantee. The ful mudammas were perfectly cooked fava beans in a savory tomato, garlic, and lemon sauce (and I'm sure many hidden ingredients)--I would dip anything in that sauce. Anything. The mantee (beef dumplings) shared a similar sauce over some rice with vermicelli and a garlic yogurt sauce and they had the perfect texture.

    What is their corkage fee?

Is their pita bread made by hand from scratch?

I am fairly sure that it is. In any case it is excellent, even when dining very late when the place is about to close.

    Wine or beer?

Yes and yes! The Lebanese red wine is perfect.

The filling of rice and ground beef is soft. The eggplant is much softer. They are cooked in a tomato sauce and served with a cool creamy yogurt. Babaganouj: This mezze is a roasted eggplant dip. We let the waiter know it was our first time trying Lebanese food and he went through the whole menu with us, which was extremely helpful. The grape leaves were herby and hearty, and the babaganoush was flavorful without the tang of a hummus, which I enjoyed. The fried cauliflower was crispy and hot with a creamy sauce that paired well. Their arayes are a must -- it's basically like a lahmajun with two pieces pressed together, and it's insanely good. I usually go all in and order the tabbouleh, babaganoush, a pound of lula kebab, and shish kebab. Honestly, if you're with 2+ people (or even just really hungry), ordering by the pound with sides is way better value than getting individual plates. You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. Not an everyday order, but when you're in the mood for it, it hits. If you dine in, the indoor decor is super nice and really gives that authentic Mediterranean vibe. They also play a lot of 90s music, which somehow fits perfectly and adds to the whole experience. I've dined in plenty of times and the service is always solid -- staff is friendly and attentive. Just a heads up, food can take a little longer sometimes, but that's because they're always busy and everything is made fresh, so it's worth the wait. I've also done takeout here more times than I can count -- probably over 100 orders at this point -- which says everything. This is easily one of my go-to spots and I keep coming back for a reason.

When a server finally came over, the first thing she said was "Ready? Ready?", no greeting, no welcome, nothing. We were never brought water. I had to ask a busser for it because the server walked past our table multiple times, clearly saw us, and chose to ignore us. The food runner was also rude, he dropped the plates on the table without saying a single word. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on us. No "How is everything?" No "Do you need anything?" Nothing at all. Meanwhile, we noticed that nearby tables were being greeted, checked on, and treated kindly. When we asked for the check, the server literally threw it on the table without saying a word. The experience was so bad that we decided not to leave a tip; Something we never do, especially since we truly value good service and I personally work in the restaurant industry. I don't know if the treatment had anything to do with how we looked or how we were dressed, but I've never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. The food may be fine, but the service completely ruins the experience. I would not return or recommend this place.
