    Rainbow Cone Bowl (Baby)

We were on our way home from a rained-out Cubs game and wanted something to cheer us up - and after my 18 years of living in the Chicago area I had never had rainbow cone. This location is paired with w Buona Beef, so beware of Italian beef smells! The rainbow cone is a little counter inside, giving a food-court vibe. You can get the rainbow cone flavors or a choice of a couple of other normal ice cream flavors. I went with a kiddie rainbow cone and it was the perfect size for me. You really would think that these flavors would be odd together, but they were pretty good! Not a place I'd go all the time, but definitely a fun chicago treat!

Add a "bow" to the end of this rainy day and get yourself a rainbow cone ice cream quart! It comes with 4 cones and it'll last you 3 days.... If you don't eat it all in one eat it's so delicious and honestly doesn't get talked about enough! Start your weekend off wonderfully!! The service was quick at the drive thru I didn't even know you could do this but it did last us 3 days which I'm surprised about!

Living on the south side for the first 20+ years of my life, I can tell you I went to the Original Rainbow at least 40-50 times. One thing I always remembered was how large the Rainbow Cone was especially when you got it in the waffle cone. So heading to the Skokie location last night, I was really looking forward to it since I haven't had a Rainbow cone in about 2 years. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. As seen in the attached photo, the amount of ice cream doesn't come close to what I remembered getting served at the Southside location. I'm not sure to chalk it up since it's not the new location or if portions were decreased to the pandemic. However the cost of that cone was about $8-$9. Moving forward if I go back, I'd rather take home a quart and call it a day. So disappointing.

This location is shared with Buona beef so after dinner just head right over to grab dessert which is exactly what I did. I chose the original rainbow cone because why not? I wasn't sure if I was going to like the mixture of flavors but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's one of those you have to get it because it's a picture must. I was impressed with how the worker scooped the slices to put on the cone. I thought it was so neat. My favorite flavor put of the five was the Palmer House with Pistachio coming in close second. I love the fact that when you order a cone you get a cone drip tray. Such a cute little place inside Buona to get some ice cream.

Came here to try the popular rainbow ice cream on a late week night evening. Easy parking, no line, nice service, and reasonable prices. I enjoyed the mash-up of flavors and would venture back here again for a quick fix.

An iconic Chicago food! Love having a closer location. Baby scoops are more of a mix of flavors than layers - wish they had smaller square scoops so you still got the experience. Chocolate is the weakest flavor - maybe someday they will replace with ube!

Been meaning to go to a Rainbow Cone, and popped by this location. Quick and clean, loved the drip tray for the cone. I ordered a Baby Cone and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size!

I think the combination of flavors for the Original Rainbow Cone don't really go well together, but I did really like the holder it comes in

First time having a rainbow cone (in a cup) and it was very yummy! The ice cream is creamy. The combo of flavors work well together. Also tried the mint flake. Good combo of mint &chocolate.

This is the fifth location and it's inside of Buona Beef. Staff and service is excellent!

Expecting a long wait, I was pleasantly surprised that while I was asked to pull to the side, my wait was only 5-6 minutes. I ordered a combo meal and when I got home my food was still hot. The burger was as good as I remembered! Fresh, quality beef and prepared exactly how I requested. I upgraded to the Parmesan truffle fries and while they tasted great, TBJ still cannot seem to make crisp French fries. They were again soggy as always and very disappointing. I remember my daughter loving their burgers/patty melts and always telling me to skip the fries. They really need to work on that. For a $16 combo meal I would expect better. The fries were still warm (though a little soggy) when I arrived at my destination (abt five minutes). I do love skin-on fries though, and I enjoyed them. The burger was ok -- not hot, not really warm either, a little too much sauce. I am willing to try again but I'll probably have to eat in the restaurant. Good customer service though -- friendly staff -- and I am pleased that they included a large stack of napkins and container of ketchup, even without me asking.

I've always enjoyed the many flavors Oberweise offers and the decadent base of their ice creams. Recently, we tried out the lucky shamrock seasonal flavor in a triple scoop. The flavor was a mint base with Oreo bits - refreshing and delicious. The serving size was enormous and generous. My partner commented that it was almost the size of a pint! They served it to us in an oblong plastic container that was honestly way larger than the bowl we expected. Their hours are pretty great as well, perfect for evening ice cream runs in the summer should the cravings hit. There's a modest parking lot off of a busy street if you wanted to sit down to eat inside. Otherwise, the drive through is super convenient.

I ordered a chocolate milk shake. When I received it, I knew I was going to be in dairy danger, but I didn't care. But lately I've been getting the Atlantic cod dinner or the Walleye dinner. The nice lady behind the counter took my order for the 2 piece cod dinner and handed me a number. The place was packed and I found a table and waited. The dining area is large but felt small with so many people. I received my order and dug in. The fish was fresh and hot, tasted like it just was made. The fish was flaky and crispy. I love the tartar sauce that they give you. With a squeeze of lemon and malt vinegar the fish is so good that I wish I would have gotten the 3 piece dinner. The cole slaw was creamy with a good crunch. The French fries were really good. The roll wasn't as fluffy this time around and didn't get any butter. But, I'm lazy and didn't want to get up, so I dipped my roll in the tartar sauce, not bad. I left full and happy. I have to go back for the walleye before it disappears.

I came here several times and I don't know why I didn't do a review until now however, this most recent visit on a Friday during lent was absolutely fantastic. The lady working at the register behind the counter was so super friendly and helpful. She made me aware of so many different combinations and options of what you can do with a simple two-piece fish platter that comes with two side sides. For example, I didn't know you could even change out the sides, let alone app for the premium size or even forfeit some of the sides. I usually eat at Culver's on Fridays during lent and this is the first time anyone's ever told me all the possible options, which was mind-boggling While it might be a little overwhelming, I will say it was great to even realize that there were any options to begin with She had the most bubbly, friendly personality, absolute patience to even explain all of these things to us and then to take our order and get it right who knew? Anyhow, she is great whoever trained her was fantastic and whoever hired her definitely saw her ability to do well at this job. She clearly likes people she likes communicating and being helpful. I like Culver's overall not just for fish but also for the cheese curds and the sandwich sandwiches. This is a solid go to for fast food when I have to choose fast food.

Banana Pudding Bundt Cake made with Nilla: Nothing Bundt Cakes (NBC) Banana Pudding Bundt Cake was…read morefirst introduced in 2025, but its limited run from 2/16-4/12/26 was my first tasting. Opening the container, the cake itself had a yellow/golden color and a mild vanilla aroma. The official description is "a delectably comforting banana cake, baked with real banana puree, made with real Mini Nilla Wafers and drizzled with vanilla pudding" (and of course their delicious, sweet cream cheese frosting). As usual, the texture is superb, with one of the best aspects of their cakes being the exceptional moistness of them. In this case, I think the pudding and possibly banana puree contributes to the moistness factor as this seemed moister than usual (in a good way). This is where things get a little perplexing. The name "Banana Pudding" makes me think that the pudding would be banana flavored, but according to the description, the pudding is vanilla and the batter is what's made with bananas. My taste buds only got a vanilla flavor from both the pudding and the cake though (zero banana). There was a fair amount of vanilla pudding in the center, but both the pudding drizzled on the exterior and in the center is difficult to see with the naked eye. The Nilla Wafers were crisp, but soft. I can't really hold this against NBC because unless eaten immediately after prep it's almost impossible to keep them crisp. It's also important to note that the wafers were baked throughout the cake and not just the conspicuous one decorating the summit. Unfortunately, the Nilla Wafers do not really contribute anything as the overall flavor is already vanilla and the soft texture gets lost within the moistness of the cake. This one is tough because it was a phenomenal vanilla pudding bundt cake, but it's a terrible banana cake. They really should be calling it Vanilla Pudding Bundt Cake made with Nilla. Doughboy approved as a vanilla pudding cake, avoid if you're hoping for bananas. Doughboy_Food_Reviews My top bundt cakes: 1. OREO 2. Biscoff Cookie Butter 3. Confetti 4. Churro Dulce de Leche 5.
