The drinks are great! But the service is not. Granted its a busy place with lots of people. They have a monitor that displays whose order is being serviced, what they don't tell you is that it doesn't display EVERY order. Weird right? I wouldn't have known this until I went up to the counter because my order number disappeared. The layout of the space is also not its best. I kind of wished it was more like some of the Starbucks I go to where you go towards the back of the room to order, and wait to pickup in the front. Very happy to report that this spot was worth the hype! I tend to be skeptical when there's lots of buzz around a place but Molly Tea exceeded expectations. First, they stay true to the tea. The premium jasmine oat milk tea was fragrant, floral, and exactly the amount of sweetness I like (not too sweet) which complements the tea rather than overpowering it. We ordered it with their default (recommended) sweetness which is 70% sweetness and less ice. I also had the white champaca oat milk tea and added the jasmine whipped cream with pecans (also the default sweetness and ice). It was really good!! It's a very unique floral taste which was fragrant but a little more subtle than the jasmine tea. The jasmine whipped cream didn't taste much like jasmine but maybe because in comparison to the actual tea it was not as flavorful. Regardless it was very tasty, and with the small pieces of candied pecans on top, it delivered a dessert-like quality! They gave me a small spork with my drink so I used it to eat the whipped cream and pecans. Excellent texture combination. I ate most of the whipped cream with my spork while taking sips with my straw in between. The straw itself is very unique and it looks like three thin straws attached together in a row so that it's flat when you pick it up. I thought it was a stirring stick at first before I opened up the packaging! Its design intentionally slows the flow of the drink as you are sipping so you can really slow down and savor it. It does so in a way that doesn't feel limiting or too restricted. It's just right for savoring your tea! What makes this place a very solid 5 stars is the quality of the tea combined with efficient service and an overall luxe experience. There are 2 screens for ordering on the wall which makes ordering very quick and efficient with the large volume of customers. Then there's a whole team of staff preparing the drinks and serving them. It's clear they have their system down and their staff well-trained! It looked like everyone knew their role and did it efficiently. It was impressive to watch. There's a digital screen on the wall that displays the order numbers in preparation and those that are ready for pickup at the counter. I like that it's both visual and audible (the automated system calls out the number too). Despite a large volume of in person and online orders, we didn't wait very long for our drinks! They really kept the flow of customers moving. The space itself feels very sleek, modern, and clean. It really gives off a luxury ambience the way the space is designed, the quality of the packaging and drinkware, and with the coordinated staff uniforms. They even sell scented candles! They look modern and have a cool design. Outside, they had a table and were giving people free samples. I love that they do this. It's great marketing and a nice touch. I decided to try this place out since we were already in Chinatown. It was busy but not super crowded. There are two kiosks you can order from or you can go to the cashier. I ordered a premium jasmine super matcha. I did less ice and 50% sugar. I felt like the drink was perfect. I don't recommend going 0% sugar, at least 30% min if you had to choose. For ice I recommend 0 to less ice for the best experience. For premium jasmine super matcha, you can really taste the green tea and matcha. It's very prominent. The floral part is also very evident. I only wished they had bigger sizes for these. I would return. Customer service was very prompt and attentive. They do get backed up with orders. Prices were fair. read more

I came here on opening weekend and was skeptical about how long the wait would be especially since it was freezing outside. However, the line moved quickly and there were many workers with an efficient system. There were workers passing out menus outside and then circling our orders so that we could hand them to the cashiers once inside. There's a screen inside the store that tells you what drinks are in process and which ones are completed. There's a few small tables in the back of the store but it was so crowded both times we came so couldn't even sit down. We tried to come back the next day for the scratch off cards but they ran out quickly. All of the drinks (hot and cold) are sealed and you use a special straw with 3 small holes to puncture the seal and drink out of. For now there's only one size drink but I wish that they would implement large size drinks soon! Of the drinks I've tried (premium jasmine milk tea, osmanthus milk tea, white champaca milk tea, and premium jasmine super matcha) the one I liked the best was the white champaca milk tea. Don't get me wrong, they're all good but I enjoyed the flavor of the white champaca mlik tea best. However, the tea flavor could have been stronger. The floral taste of these teas is just so fresh and fragrant and delicious. I can see why it's so popular. After visiting one time I just wanted to keep coming back! The white champaca oolong tea was amazing. The jasmine mango drink was more mango flavor than jasmine but the hint/aftertaste of jasmine was still very nice. The cups and 3-sip-flow-straws are also just so beautifully designed. You order at a kiosk and it's pretty fast if there's not a huge crowd. Would highly recommend going on a weekday as it can get very busy on the weekends. The store is based in China and just is very authentic. This is my recommendation for anyone who likes fragrant/strong tea flavors. Their straws kind of look like creamer stirrers, but they're supposed to be specially designed to enhance the tea flavor. I'm not sure if that's true, but it does help you sip the tea slowly to savor it. My go to orders are the Pistachio White Champaca Coco and the Jasmine Mango Smoothie (which includes sago and pomelo). I've had versions of the mango smoothie at other boba shops, and this one is my favorite! All the flavors are so balanced, but the tea shines through. I will say that I wasn't a fan of the straight milk teas, but I have friends who order it every time. Also, their drinks are supposed to be not to sweet already, but there is the option to adjust the sugar. All the ordering can be done at the kiosk, and although there's always a line when I go (on the weekends), it flows pretty quickly.
