I absolutely love Molly's! It's a super cute and cozy pub with amazing food and drinks. A perfect casual date night spot, especially in the winter. I love the colorful Christmas lights they hang year round that really give the place so much warmth. We recently came here on a Friday night at 7 and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a booth inside. They are sticking strictly to the 25% capacity indoors, but they also had an awesome outdoor dining section with heaters (and Christmas lights!) They used to have sawdust all over the floor which was really cool, but I believe they got rid of it due to covid. The tables were clean and the silverware all came in sterilized bags, we felt very safe eating here. As for the food (pictured) we ordered the following: -Reuben was spectacular, juicy corned beef with Russian dressing, along with some of the best fries I've ever had - steak cut and super crispy -Burger with American was perfect, onion rings were even better -Fish and chips are also great here Service was wonderful, our waiter / bartender was super friendly. I had great hopes for Molly's based on the reviews. I was sadly disappointed. The Irish Coffee was so watery and the corned beef and cabbage was bland. I complained to the waitress about the coffee and she didn't offer to have it remade or take it off the bill. I won't be back! read more

Great spot!! Feels very classic New York and there were tons of actual Irish people in the bar so you know it's authentic! Sat at the bar on a Wednesday night and was served by Jason who is a total sweetheart. He gave us great, prompt service and while my friend and I were only eating, not drinking, he made sure our waters were constantly full. I was having a hard-core craving for grilled cheese this night and called ahead hoping they would be able to accommodate since grilled cheese is only on their lunch menu and not their dinner menu. Fortunately, they were able to do so and made me a great cheddar grilled cheese sandwich. I've also been here a couple of other times but unfortunately I don't remember what I ordered. My son and I wandered in here for dinner after an appointment nearby. Our waiter treated us like family from the moment we walked in. It was like getting a warm hug, that was the vibe he gave us. The atmosphere was beyond friendly and warm. Our calamari and chicken wings were absolutely delicious. The service was spectacular. Another server also happened by and was just as kind as the first server. What a beautiful evening, we can't wait to go back. Impeccable service, best atmosphere (historic and cozy on the inside, new and improved setup on the outside) and a burger that hits the spot like no other. Don't be shy, they'll give you half and half fries/onion rings if you ask politely. Also, don't forget about the homemade mozz sticks, that would just be foolish. French onion soup is a sleeper pick. I've been going through some old pictures and saw this pub show up. I had genuinely forgotten I came here, but I'm glad I rediscovered this. I went to New York my senior year of college and met up with a high school friend who was at NYU at the time. The last stop of the day before we parted ways was here. Finding this bar was a great recommendation from my friend and it was great to be able to just relax and talk over a beer. The big positive I took away from here is how secluded the tables are from each other. It was nice knowing that even though Molly's is a smaller bar from what I remember, I was still able to have a quiet conversation with my friend. The service was really friendly and awesome. I wanted to have something unique, and Molly's didn't disappoint! Absolutely loved the ambiance; felt as if I was in some remote pub in Ireland (even one of the patrons had a very noticeable Irish accent). I ordered the corned beef on rye with a Guinness! What a treat! All around delicious! But, be warned, the Coleman's mustard on hand is so good, but man did it have a kick to it! Thankfully the bartender was nice enough to bring me a glass of water! I'm not being biased and supporting anything that celebrates the greatness of "Molly", but it doesn't hurt that that's it's name. However, this is such a cute little Irish pub! They have old wooden booths in the front, a large bar area, and a bunch of tables in the back. Service is super friendly and fast, and the bartender gave us attention/told us where to go immediately. We ordered the Molly's chicken salad and a side of small fries to share and it was PLENTY for two. The salads are HUGE and you'd be a fool not to split them. Also the fries are steak cut and addicting and I don't remember how many I ate but I'm going win "lots". Overall a great neighborhood find, it's not like you're walking in here expecting 5 star white napkin service, but if you come in expecting a cute neighborhood Irish pub, you'll be very happy! read more

Omg I didn't know if this was a good idea but I was blown away!!! So atmospheric! I got the 6oz burger which was big! It had a charred, Smokiness. Really juicy and flavorful. I got the side salad which was really big and great quality greens with walnuts and craisins. It was the perfect amount of food and for a great price. Top it off with a Heineken and it's a good day. Established in 1960, therefore, naturally the most traditional Irish bar in New York. I was very excited to see all the history and old structure at this place! As we stepped inside, it was darker than expected, I could not see or appreciate the old structure or the interior much. I could see that there was a large bar to the right, and booth seating to the left. They had lots of sawdust on the floor, and I heard there is a fireplace here, but I didn't spot one in the dark. We ordered Shepard's Pie and Irish Lamb Stew. They were both filling and delicious, even though a bit on pricey side. The stew surprisingly delicious, much more than expected. It is always great when you go in with a low or no expectation, then receiving something very delicious. Maybe we had too high of an expectation for the Shepard's Pie... It was really good, but not as good as I wanted it to be. The service was nice and friendly. I wish if the space was better lit, with normal light colors, instead of that strange red colored light. I heard they have pretty good burgers here, maybe I will come back to try some burgers next time, during lunch or brunch hours so that I can really appreciate the historical building more from the inside. read more

A terrific, cozy, no-frills Irish pub. Dim and dingy but charmingly so. It's earned its character. The bartender does a decent pour for a midtown Irish pub, which is much appreciated. A consistently fantastic burger and great onion rings are served here. The burger has serious heft and funk and is obviously cooked on a well burnished flat top. One of my favorite burgers in town. The servers are both warm and efficient. There are some tucked away tables and booths in the back that are ideal for a solo lunch or a catch-up dinner for two. The downside really was - food not seasoned at all, fries were soggy and bland, fish was extremely greasy and was really smelly (not fresh). Absolutely hands down WORST experience i've ever had in the city. Born and raised, go in for a beer. I'm the only one ordering, bar tender asks for all IDs, understandably, when i told him one of us was in the bathroom and the other was sitting down he asked again, i told him I'm just trying to get a drink and that he could ask them for their IDs cause he wanted me to ID them? We're all well into our twenties and have no problem producing our ID. He tried to argue with me and when I told him he was doing too much he told me to " go fuck myself" Tiny little hole in the wall joint with multiple better options down the street. SO happy that Molly's has reopened for take-out (the only option while the Covid19 restrictions are in place). I stopped by last Saturday afternoon to pick up one of their excellent burgers and fries and everyone was distancing appropriately and I felt comfortable ordering and briefly waiting on the sidewalk. The food was beautifully packaged (everything separate so the bun didn't get soggy) and absolutely delicious - the best meal I've had since the spread of corona virus caused NYC restaurants to close. read more

I was heading to a music concert (which is no surprise to anyone following this Yelp account) and since I was making it a night to enjoy a few cold ones I followed the lead of my buddy who said several peeps would be convening at the Molly's bar. I was intrigued since I had never been in here before and it would be a new check in for Yelp and of course Swarm which I am still using. On walking in, I felt that I was stepping back in time since it has a very "old" feeling to it. A simple pub space that one expects to find in some rural countryside and those are not too common in the bustling NYC at this point. We ordered up a couple of pints, I was having Harp and my companion a Corona. The bartender was friendly and pleasant and we soon secured a spot in one of the few booths in the front of the bar. The bar seating itself was loaded with patrons and since we were not having dinner we didn't opt for the rear dining room space. I should have eaten since the food looked and smelled so good. I liked the look of the chicken Caesar salad that passed by me and the burger. Sigh. Next time for sure. The music over our heads must have been from someone's iPod or Spotify account and it was perfect for the night we were all having. There isn't a public WiFi signal but I was picking up something from a nearby place which saved me some data usage. Price wise it seemed to be around $7 per beer and I was unsure if this was their Happy Hour or just regular price for the place. It's NYC and only going to be so cheap. There were a bunch of good conversations going with the show crowd so a nice time overall. I'd like to come back here at some point to get some food and another idea of the place but for the pre-gaming that was set for today this was a good choice. read more

Came to Molly's for lunch expecting a very good Irish pub meal, and was honestly disappointed. I came with a party of 6, and everyone ordered different things so I got a good feel for what they do well and what they don't. I got the fish and chips, which were good but honestly a very small portion for $18. The wait staff is extremely detached, and literally brought out half of the people at my tables meals, then 8 min later brought out the other half, and forgot to put in the order for someone's salad. We then at the end of the meal had to ask for the check multiple times, mind you the place was empty not packed at all. If you come here, I would stick with burgers, and anything fried. I was there today with a party of 7 for a 12:30 reservation be fore we headed over to The Friends Experience. My son and his girlfriend were the first to arrive and sat at our table. Upon sitting, my son's girlfriend snagged her leggings on a nail in the bench leaving a small hole. She let the manager know just so he could have it fixed. She didn't want anything for it! She kept turning down his offer to compensate her. He so overcompensated our whole party! It was the kindest gesture and the most amazing customer service. And his Irish accent just added to the authenticity of this amazing gem of a restaurant. The food was OUTSTANDING! Nobody in our party had a single complaint.
