Nice, clean restaurant. I wouldn't say it had ambience but it was attractive in a minimalistic way. Went there on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn't very busy. Didn't have to wait at all for service or food. We asked the host/waiter/owner (?) what their best dishes were, and we ordered two of his three suggestions. Drunken noodles with beef didn't look appetizing but were really good, and the yellow curry with mock chicken looked, smelled, and tasted great. Thai iced tea was tasty too. I can't say I was wowed but I would recommend it and go back. They have an ample menu, so I look forward to trying more of their dishes. read more

I am so glad we found this little place. Seating is limited and it tends to get busy but it's worth the wait. Start off with the veggie rolls which are crisp and flavorful. We had tried the crispy tofu on a previous visit which was ok but the veggie rolls were the star of the appetizers. I've ordered the orange chicken both times I have been here and it is delicious each time. The serving size is massive so there is plenty to share and still take some home. My husband is a fan of their curries but tried the chicken in peanut sauce last night and it was delicious. He opted for a 3 on the heat level and it was just right. I was even able to try it and enjoy it. All entrees also come with rice on the side. Two entrees and an appetizer was only around $30 before tip. At these prices we can afford to go back and try more of their menu. read more

I took two stars off because 1. the air was sooo stuffy in the restaurant both me and my date where having to take that extra breath because there was no air flow and it was also a little warm. 2. thing I'll say is when we ordered food we sat there for around 15min waiting for waters until I had to ask the food runner for our waters after our food was finally brought out. 3. I don't know if it was the owner that took our order or who that was working up at the register but could have been a bit friendlier I felt like I was stepping on someone's toes maybe smiling at your customers or greeting them rather then just walking up to the table to ask if we are ready to order. A good lunch This was our first visit to Tom Yum Thai Restraunt. The menu is pretty extensive and contains not only Thai, but also many other Asian fusion dishes. On this visit we had the Broccoli Noodles (See_Ew). The food and service were good however, there was nothing really outstanding in what I ordered, but the food was tasty and luncheon prices were wallet friendly. The name of this place should just be "Yummy". How many times have I driven by this place, and not come in? I'm hitting myself now. This place is fabulous. My husband is particular about Thai food; he has a specific dish that's not always available at most Thai places in Phoenix. It's cozy, so if you have a party larger than 6, you may want to call ahead to reserve a spot. The food was fresh. We started with the potstickers which were fried perfectly. They came with 2 dipping sauces that weren't just soy sauce; they were like different sweet and sour sauces. I ordered the eggplant with the mixed seafood-mussels, calamari, shrimp, and fish. If you're crazy about seafood, the portion of seafood will make you happy. You'll be ecstatic with the first bite. The eggplant was braised nicely; the sauce was nice and light. I finished every last bite. No regrets. Well, maybe one...I should have ordered one to take home. Lol. My husband ordered the peanut sauce with chicken. The chicken was tender and seasoned with a nice little kick. The peanut sauce was flavorful and had a nice consistency. It came on a bed of steamed cabbage, carrots, and broccoli. This is the second time I've had Mollys Thai Ban we used UberEats. I'm going to tell everyone who reads this, to please try the clear noodle soup with chicken. In my opinion , it's the best. Please check it out. The crab Rangoon puffs were light and crispy and very flavorful. The green papaya salad was ordered medium spicy, thought it could have been more spicier. The hot and sour soup with chicken was also tasty but not too spicy. The veggie spring rolls were also quite delicious, light and crispy also. Easy in, easy out, easy order, easy catering. This place is easy and is delicious. I used them once to cater a bridal shower. The experience was good and easy, not a problem. I've ordered take out, and Grubhub. Yesterday I ate there with some friends and the experience was breezy. Our waiter, which come to find out was the owner was very compliant with our needs. He was a "yes we can no problem " guy, and I appreciated that. The food was delicious, hot, fresh. Friends in the table were happy and in the end it was a good choice. This place is always hopping, so plan ahead. The ToGo business they've developed shows just how good the food is. It's my "stop on the way home from work" place, even if all I get is an order of Summer Rolls (lovely and filling!) If you are dining in the evening, you can - and should - call ahead and order. If there's room you can eat there or take it out. Give them time, it's worth the wait. My favorite is the Ginger dishes. This one is so good: Ginger Fantasy Mixed chicken, pork, beef and shrimp sauteed with ginger, onion, carrot, mushrooms, and bell peppers in a garlic ginger sauce. Great team, Brock manages the front of the house while his wife Molly manages the kitchen. They have a great little restaurant and a lot of heart. The sweet and sour soup should be called TOMATO soup because that's what it tasted like - no spice and just bad. I highly recommend the panang curry. I ordered medium spice levels and was very satisfied (coming from a gal who loves spicy food). This place is a little small inside so I ordered takeout. This is our very favorite mom & pop Thai places! We love the Panang Curry and the Massaman Curry. We always get it with tofu! I have also tried the Hawaiian Fried rice with tofu and found it to be amazing! I can't say enough about the Tom Yum (hot and sour) soup. It is wonderful! The vegetables are always fresh here! We frequent this restaurant at least once a month! My fiancé is vegan and they always modify dishes for him if necessary. Many of the dishes are vegan already! It is definitely a small setting and family owned. It's also very reasonably priced. Try it! You won't be disappointed! read more

There is a note on this page "from the owners" that states that new owners "recently" took over this location. It is unfortunate that this site doesn't delete all reviews written when the old owners ran it because any restaurant is 100% about where the owners buy their food, how they cook it, how they treat their customers and how much they charge, NOT the name on the building. I can only assume most of the "positive " reviews were written about the "old" owners' place and not what the "new" owners did after they took over. Whatever the culture I believe there is no such thing as "the best" of any food. Whether burgers or pizza, Mexican or Asian the joy of eating is to experience subtle regional differences and the unique style of the chef. That said, Thai food does have certain characteristics that define it like a blend (always a blend) of the five flavors of sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and spicy. Unfortunately Tom Yum's interpretation of blend ended up being more like bland and that is the one word I would use to describe their style of food preparation. We shared two dishes. First the soup, a hot and sour broth with pieces of chicken. Overall it wasn't bad. The reddish broth had a nice kick to it and the fact that they used white meat chicken was a plus. However the chicken pieces tasted like they were from a can ... devoid of all flavor. The biggest negative about the soup however was that it was $10 for a very small container, a fraction of the size our favorite local Chinese restaurant serves for half the price. Tom Yum's soup just isn't worth ten bucks. Our other dish was Ginger Fantasy which is described as "Mixed chicken, pork, beef and shrimp sauteed with ginger, onion, carrot, mushrooms, and bell peppers in a garlic ginger sauce". Being brutally honest it was as bland as something from a steamer tray at Panda Express. The "fantasy" must be that you are supposed to imagine the non-existent flavors. It comes with adequate amounts of rice and a "brick" of noodles but the serving size of the menu item itself was embarrassingly tiny and it cost $15! Any good restaurant review is a blend itself of several important factors ... food quality, value, service, ambience, etc. On the first two Tom Yum scores very poorly, their food is bland, overpriced and portions are much too small. As far as service and ambience, we were there during dinner time on a Friday night and there were diners at only one table, otherwise the place was dead. As was the single employee who looked like he wished he was somewhere else, anywhere else but there - he made me feel completely unwelcome. The restaurant itself is located in a seedy (and almost scary) strip mall next to a smelly cowboy bar with "characters" hanging around everywhere in the parking lot, definitely not a family friendly environment after dark. I sense maybe the new owners may be franchise entrepreneurs looking for expansion opportunities but that's just a guess based on their over-the-top over-promising (and expensive looking) website that seems to have no correlation to the actual restaurant. They rely on a grossly inaccurate automated Grubhub/Yelp ordering system that advised us that it would take 40 minutes to prepare our take-out meal. Being our first time there we arrived very early only to find our bag of food already sitting on the counter waiting for us. Apparently the automated system is not synchronized in any way to actual restaurant conditions. I struggled to find a reason to give them as high as 3-stars for "average" but I couldn't do that and still keep my review honest. What absolutely kills them is price and the nail that seals it is that it is the worst Thai food I've ever had. I won't be back. read more

I've loved this restaurant when we went there in the past but (in my personal opinion) if the pad thai tastes as good reheated for breakfast as the night before it's a winner. Absolute delicious! We had the combo satay (chicken, shrimp and beef) and each meat was well marinated & the peanut sauce was so good! The tom kha gai was fragrant, not too thin and most importantly, not too sweet like other places. Super fragrant as well. We loved the pork drunken noodles; the meat portion is very generous. Finally, we got the salmon pineapple red curry special which was light and again, perfectly seasoned. Our usual Thai place was disappointed us last time so very happy to try the food here.
