We have found another great Thai Bistro, this one is on the east side of town. Food is delicious, very authentic, fresh and mouth watering. This is our second time stopping in. The first time we brought our nephew and we fell in love with the Masa Man curry and Pad Thai both with fried tofu. This time we tried something new. Spicy "Drunken Noodles and Eggplant Garden. Both amazingly delicious and so flavorful. Service was great. Super attentive and helpful. It's a small place, cozy and right on the corner of Greenway and 40tj st. Shares the corner with Starbucks. Our first visit here , we drove past daily , but it never really stood out very much , but after reading some reviews on Yelp , we decided to see what the majority are saying . It's a very friendly and warm atmosphere , light music playing and modern table settings . The menu is beautifully written with all the questions basically answered in the details . We started with the chicken wontons , so delicate and tasty you could tell how fresh they were made . Big noodle bowl with chicken was amazing with freshly cut noodles and flavors that really stand out , I had the heat at 3 , it was medium and not overpowering the flavors . Next it was a combination big noodle bowl , same thing it was at heat 2 , mild and so flavorful and large portion . We decided to try this place for its "superior" pineapple fried rice and pad Thai when compared with our regular place, Molly's. Quite the disappointment! While the Pad Thai was ok and cream puffs were good, the pineapple fried rice was poor. No discount for medical unless you insist on it. It's 8:50PM, they close at 9 and they are literally RUSHING US OUT! RIDICULOUS!!! No soda refill. No water refills. This place is located in a small plaza. The food was great we got the usual food Panang Curry , Pad See ew and Thai fried rice. As expected the flavors are great! So good! I was thinking of getting the coconut soup but this time around I passed on that as it's one of my favorites. Again price is very affordable!!! The place was nice and cozy. This place has some of the best pad thai and the most friendly customer service! I have yet to actually dine in but have ordered takeout numerous times. My order is always ready on time and is piping hot. The pad thai with shrimp is always so flavorful and fresh! Their spices are incredible and their portions are plentiful, there is more than enough shrimp as well. I always end up having some leftovers which I save for the next day. I get the heat level 'hot' which is perfect for me, it has a nice kick without being overpowering. Adding sriracha on top always adds a nice touch! Ambiance (3/5): Pretty much your typical Asian restaurant. Comfortable and welcoming. It's a relatively small restaurant. We sat at a table in the corner facing the small bar. Service (4/5): Friendly and efficient service. The restaurant wasn't busy so that makes things easier but solid nonetheless. Drinks (N/A): I just had an ice tea so not much to write about. Food (3/5): I have several go-tos when it comes to Thai restaurants, with an emphasis on noodles and mild flavor because I cannot handle Thai spicy. This time around, I tried something different. I went with the combination big fresh noodle which comes with chicken, beef, and pork in a stir fry. No veggies, just eggs which is how I like it. It was so-so. The sauce wasn't bad by any means but lacked flavor a bit. And the meat was fine but not the best quality of meat. It's one of those dishes that does the job but doesn't excite you. The staff is friendly and went above and beyond interacting with the child in our party making sure their food was up to the standards of their palate. Fantastic! Healing food. This restaurant took over from the former Thai Basil in this location and turned it into a spectacular little restaurant. Whenever I feel like I'm getting a cold, I crave Tom Yum Kha soup and order extra galangal root on the side for its healing affects. Not every Thai restaurant will add it. We first tried this place a few months ago for a very quick lunch and thought it was great! We ordered on DoorDash recently and it was absolutely awful. We ordered everything "medium spicy" since our toddler was eating with us as well. Everything was bland, except the curry which burned my mouth from the spice so bad, I couldn't find a single thing to make it feel better. I tolerate spice very well but this was next level. To preface this, I eat Thai at least twice a week. It's just ok. I got the Pad See Ew with beef with a 4 out of 5 level spice. The spice was 1 out of 5 (if that) and the beef looked minced, not chunks. Service was fine. Ambiance was fine. We found this little gem on Yelp and are glad we did! We were greeted by a friendly waitress who welcomed us even though it was 30 minutes before closing. The place was empty so we got to pick our table. It's a small, cozy place with more outdoor seating than indoor. There's plenty of parking because it's in a little strip mall. The food...my friend had the Pad Thai and said it was excellent. She loves spicy food and asked for it to be extra spicy. It was perfect for her. I wasn't quite as in love with my Yellow Curry with Chicken. There was a lot of really smooth, perfectly seasoned curry sauce! Lots of it. The problem was that there was almost no red pepper and very little chicken. They were so generous with sauce and so skimpy on everything that should have been in the sauce. It came with a large portion of white rice. That was fine. We shared the potstickers and they were good. The sauce that went with then was also good. Be prepared that there are only 5 or 6 selections of wine. Of course they were not great quality but they were sufficient. I was a little disappointed that they didn't give a good pour on the wine. That was also skimpy. Overall it's a great place with quality food at reasonable prices that I will return to the next time I'm in Phoenix. read more

Spur of the moment Thai dinner on Black Friday instead of shopping! Again, Angel Thai Bistro did not disappoint! We were greeted promptly by the owner who seated us at a table for two, and brought menus and waters. There were few other diners but a bustling take out business from what I could tell. No liquor license yet, but they are working on it. My husband wanted the crab puffs, so I tasted the filling even though wontons are not on my food safe list. It was slightly crabby and sweet but very unappealingly cold in the middle. Hard to get the wonton crispy without the filling boiling out, but there is a balance to be had! For his entree he ordered the Heavenly Cashews with the beef option. It has lots of vegetables in a spicy red sauce, and even at the mild heat level it had a wonderful, rich flavor. He claims to have had vivid dreams from his spicy delectable meal and was very impressed with this little gem of a restaurant. I guarantee he will want to come back soon. Based on my past experiences with this chef, it is better to order mild and add your own marvelous spice level using their assortment of house chilies. If you order medium, it may be too spicy to consume at all. I can't imagine the Thai hot. So I posted a photo of the hot sauces that were provided. Standard red Chile flake, a garlic chili paste, and a home brew of pickled Thai peppers in briny fish sauce. That was my favorite, it has the special umami that regular chili paste lacks. For my entree, I ordered the Pad See Ew, a broccoli and rice noodle dish with chicken at a mild heat. The extra wide rice noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, and not vigorously stir fried into tiny pieces like some places. The Chinese broccoli was sliced on the bias, slightly crisp, with scallions and carrots but I had them hold the bean sprouts. I love this exceptional preparation, this dish is not greasy and it would hold up great for take out. I added drops of chili paste all over, then supplemented with the pickled peppers each bite. Delicious!! And it was just as good leftover the next day for lunch. Score!! Please try this lovely family restaurant, you will not be sorry! read more

I took my work group here on a whim after another Thai place fell through. It was the requested cuisine type. If you're looking for a small, local Thai restaurant, Angels Thai will be a hit. I don't know if it's family-run, but it definitely has that feel. We saw several people stop in to grab takeout and chat with our waiter, so it's definitely a neighborhood favorite. I wish we lived closer, but my waistline probably is glad that we don't! We sampled the fried wontons (always a hit), eggrolls, pad see ew with beef and green curry with tofu. We went for a small amount of spice with the curry and it ended up coming with the perfect amount of kick.
