Took my wife back to Molo and I was disappointed with the second go around. Right when we sat down we ordered a pizza and it took at least 40 minutes to show up. The salads were bland this time, Greek and Beet salad. The waiter was very impersonable and very short. We asked him if our main course was on the way and he said yes, it's coming out soon. Then we got the owners attention and explained to her the situation, not that apologetic. Ten minutes later we were the last few people left in the restaurant and the main course came out hot, the waiter forgot to put in the order. read more

Awful service, went with my family i have 2 kids 1 year old and 2 year old. They made very evident that we were not welcome. We told the hostess we would be sharing the plates...asked for bread to start...which came out as we were leaving.....everything came at once and then hostess spent every 5 minutes asking of we were finished. We were still eating when they asked to take out the half eaten plate ....what a horrible horrible experience....if you want to relax and enjoy your meal do not go here. read more

We were super excited to celebrate a special birthday at Molo. We had been loyal customers of the previous restaurant at this location, Sabatino's. The restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday, but expected since it's the holiday season. Was pleased to see the sausage platter offered, delicious as always. However, the rest of the food was fairly pedestrian, just average. We ordered ravioli with sausage, truffle risotto, spaghetti with meatballs, seafood pasta, chicken parm and eggplant parm. We also had the Caesar salad and the Mediterranean salad. I wish we could say the service was good but it was extremely poor. For a party of 6, we were crammed into a very small table. Our server was extremely inattentive and disengaged. For a bill that came to just shy of $400 for average food and extremely poor service, we won't be returning. read more

This was our first time in Molo, the restaurant that now fills the former Sabatino's spot on Back Bay. We have a new favorite in the area and are so grateful! They still serve Sabatino's sausage (we had to start with a platter for the table) so we were happy immediately, plus fabulous bread with butter and spread, plenty of wine and beer choices and we ordered Tortellini (cheese, with fresh mushrooms and a splash of truffle), lasagna (rich and meaty), Chicken Piccata (tender and flavorful) and pasta with clam sauce (literally not a noodle left on the plate). This is a hidden gem in Newport Beach. Sisters took me there to celebrate my birthday For appetizers we had fantastic and arancini's and garlic bread. Very flavorful. Then we had shared 2 different types of salad, the citrus avocado and Caesar salad . Both were very fresh. And the Coco and Pepe pasta. And we were able to go see the waiter assemble it by putting into a cheese wheel while warm and then put on our plates. Fantastic. They brought me a Panne cotta with mixed berry sauce for my birthday. Very light and delicious. And we shared an Affogato that just hit the spot. So delicious. Amazing new pugliese restaurant just outside the heard of Lido! Great covered patio and friendly staff. Great variety of dishes - hard to pick what to order! The meatball sandwich had no flavor and bread was below par. We were with a group of 7, and 3 out of the group enjoyed their meals. Caesar salad was bleh. This new restaurant can't compare to Sabatino's. The only Sabatino's item still on the menu is the sausage. They don't serve bread with olive oil or a complimentary cup of soup. I have lived in Newport beach for 23 years, and out of everywhere I have ate in the city, this was the worst dinner experience I've ever had. My boyfriend and I waited 30 minutes past our reservation to be seated... the hostess sat us with no menus or utensils. The young hostess with brunette hair was extremely rude and sat us by telling us "you can go sit at that table" (she didn't even walk us over to our table). Our server was rude as well and extremely unprofessional. He never introduced himself to us, and only asked us what we wanted in a rude manner... we ordered wine and an appetiser right away. Our appetizer came before our drinks, they still hadn't given us utensils or napkins after asking them multiple times. On top of that, our server didn't check in with us one time. The food was good but the service and vibes were horrible. I will absolutely never be back at this restaurant. 0/10 read more

What a wonderful experience of both food and ambiance. First visit since they opened and wasn't disappointed. Greeted by Alex, who is extremely welcoming and directed us to our table. Our server, John Carlo, was very entertaining and thorough in taking our order as well as excellent suggestions to make our visit memorable. We will definitely be back. I'm so disappointed I'm in tears. I researched different restaurants for my parent's anniversary in the OC and came across Molo. The pics looked great and so did the ambience. My parents are usually game for a new location so I made the reservations days ago. Nobody called me to confirm which means they didn't know what name the open table reservation was under. That's ok just not white glove service I can get past that. But when they were seated my dad said he felt rushed and not treated as if this was a special occasion. He asked the server was she in a rush and she said "kind of" smh they had the garlic bread and two drinks before they had enough of the basic treatment and left! My parents go to Maestros and Wolfgang himself has offered twice! On different occasions to take a picture with them. I say all this to say anyone who comes into your establishment should be treated with kindness, patience and quality customer service. I feel awful for them. read more

We ordered everything we usually do & it was nothing like we had eaten the previous visits. We ordered 4 pastas, 1 pizza, and bread. It came out all at the same time, undercooked and slightly cold. They weren't busy and as soon as we sat down it felt like we were being rushed to finish and leave. The server came over in the middle of me taking a bite and asked if I was finished and started collecting plates. From moment to being seated to paying the bill was 40 minutes. My husband spoke with the manager and was met with lots of defense which was disappointing. I had dinner here tonight by myself and i should say the staff were very friendly and helpful. I got seated immediately. I ordered file mignon and cacio e pepe pasta and i had a tea for the starter. The steak was absolutely amazing ! It was one of the best steaks i have ever had ! ( coming from someone who is a steak expert ) I had green beans and mushrooms as sides , the mushrooms were delicious but the green beans weren't good , they were undercooked and flavorless. The pasta was cold, the cheese hadn't melted properly and was clumped underneath the pasta. The pasta itself wasn't fully cooked and still felt raw. Even though they asked me multiple times how i like my food I didn't complain or send it back because I didn't want to wait for it to be remade--I knew it would take too long and I'd lose my appetite because i have waited so long to get my tea in the beginning but i didn't take more than one star for the whole experience because the staff were super nice.
