A relaxed, artsy, friendly place to have a fabulous cup o' joe and chillax. I have to say, this is my new favorite coffee shop. Everyone inside I encountered, staff and customers, were super friendly. Everyone's in a good mood. It's like it's contagious in here, the good mood. There are so many options to choose from that my indecisive self became overwhelmed. I opted to let the barista make a selection for me. He asked if there was anything up on a list of flavors he pointed to that I objected to, I said no. He asked what I generally like: something cold and sweet, I replied. He made me some magical iced coffee with cinnamon and gingerbread and I don't remember what else, but it was incredible. There are interesting novelty things for sale around, including so many handmade items from local artists. Fun to peek at whilst waiting or sipping coffee. Something to bring home for a valued friend, or perhaps some kid you're ignoring while spending mucho time in said coffee shop. It happens. Don't feel guilty. Indulge yourself. You're an adult. You deserve this. I will be back and back and back again. I'm thinking, I may just move in. If this is the feeling, the vibe I'll get when I come in? Count me in. I'm so there. Love the vibe. People seem great. I wasn't as big a fan of their Iced Chai Tea Latte, but I look forward to trying other things there.

This is my favorite coffee shop in town. I love the employees, they are so kind and very inclusive. The interior of the shop is very cute and comfortable. Inside dining isn't available because of COVID, but I look forward to being in there after COVID. I would 1000/10 suggest. read more

My favorite place to grab a cup of coffee and relax! The coffee is delicious, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are absolutely lovely. Their Turkish latte is my favourite. The decor is fun, and features a load of art from various artists. If you're looking for a fun little cafe to sit and enjoy, get some work done, or just grab your coffee and go, this is definitely the place. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Food doesn't taste like much at all, the vegetarian chili was seemingly flavored with only salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Iced tea was good. Great cafe with friendly staff! The environment is very cozy. They have plenty of milk options for coffee, and when I ordered the veggie chili they were considerate to ask if I'd like dairy or none. Omg I never knew how bad Starbucks coffee was till I tasted Molten Java . The stream machine broke and I went to Starbucks till molten machine got fixed . Well after two days of awful coffee I went to Molten and got my coffee from the smaller machine and man it was amazing even if the big machine is broken . Worst coffee ever. I paid for a large coffee and tried to pump it out from the canister, which was almost empty. Added sugar and took my first sip as I left the shop. Ice cold. The shop was filled to the brim, so I just threw it in the garbage and left. I'll never go back! read more

This has become my go-to spot for good espresso and a good study/work spot. It's cute, quirky, has lots of seating options and the staff are always so warm and welcoming. In addition to the usual coffee drinks, they have some great specials - one of my favorites being the Red Dragon. The food here is pretty good, too, considering they don't have a "real" kitchen. I've had the huevos rancheros and the burrito and both were good. Definitely a good spot for both solo work time and group meetings. Sitting on the porch during good weather is also great. Oh, jesus. Get the cookies when they're fresh baked. Make me want to fall asleep under a blanket. And only $.95! How! Who! God? Yes. God is a warm, chewy chocolate chip cookie nestled in Bethel, Connecticut. Also, amazingly good teas, and about 15 or more to choose from. Disclaimer: I only lived in Danbury for 2 years and didn't like it much. When Molten Java opened in Bethel I was thrilled and as the business got up and running it just kept getting better. I can only imagine how good it must be by now... I wish I could still walk to it (although I'm glad to not be in CT anymore). This is a true coffeehouse - of course there are wonderful coffees and teas (good hot chocolate and interesting sodas for the younger ones) and lots of tasty treats. But this is also a true coffeehouse in that it creates a space for you to relax, play games (they have a selection of board games and chess players were starting to come there regularly), and even yelp (free wi-fi). There are also interesting community activities, readings and music events. If you live in the area, this is something to become a part of... check it out. read more

I'll probably leave this as my only update for Molten Java because I feel like I already blew away the positives on this place. I ended up stopping in both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend just because I was totally in the mood for amazing coffee. Both days the coffee was phenomenal, but Sunday especially made me feel right at home. I walked in, said hi to the barista, and she already started making my coffee, double checking with me to make sure that's what I wanted before I even bothered to ask. I loved it. I guess now I'm considered a regular, which I dig entirely :). As long as I live in the Danbury area, I'll continue coming here for coffee weekly. read more

Molten Java was the place I spent almost all of my free time during my high school years. It was the place to be back in 2006, and after a recent trip home I'm happy to see that not much has changed, well, besides the location! I like the wide selection of teas and the coffee that never has a burnt taste to it. Seriously, this might be one of the few places that I have never felt like I've drank a burnt coffee from. The little sections of novelty items never fail to attract me attention. Even years later I find that my room still has some of the things I've purchased in the past proudly displayed on it's walls. Worst coffee ever. I ordered latte and americano, and I received water-down gas station coffee. So I ordered an espresso shot to add to my coffee, but again I got a old watery coffee(not even espresso). Latte was already more expensive than other places and plus payed $1.9 extra for that. But I had to throw away, because it was horrible anyway. I looked at how they extract the coffee. They are really cheap at their coffee beans. Not only watery but also the coffee beans have no flavor nor fresh. Plus, I asked for scones. They don't even know which one is which. I've spent a considerable amount of time patronizing Molten Java so i feel uniquely qualified to give it an accurate and honest review. What could be a phenomenal business establishment is, in reality, mediocre on it's best day. It is my opinion that an independent establishment that specializes in an artisan craft should be able to mop the floor with any chain business (example: Starbucks) because they're able to give a unique spin on their field. This is not the case for Molten Java. At times their drinks are poor (Thank you, but I don't like tasting coffee grounds in my morning cup and I prefer a latte to be made by someone who actually knows what they're doing) and at other times, the drinks are average. The food is bland. I suppose the burrito is tolerable if you're starving but largely it's a stone's throw away from what a bachelor would make dinner. The food is all microwaved and this surely isn't making bland food any more enticing. Charging 50 cents for tap water is also not just professionally strange but kind of an insult to a paying customer such as myself. Perhaps the worst aspect of this place is the lack of professionalism outside of their food and drink. The general attitude of the staff is either aloof or downright rude. This wasn't a one time occurrence for me; over time it seems the more you frequent Molten Java, the more they take you for granted and treat you with rudeness. I appreciate weird or funky decor but the mannequin in the sitting room is just tacky and doesn't fit. Beware: the free WIFI barely works. It has been spotty for a long time and it seems no one cares enough to fix the issue. If you're looking to locate Molten Java from the road, good luck. Their sign is tiny and hidden from view behind a bush. One of the last times I was there, it had fallen off and was sitting face down on the ground. Haha. Overall, I think that this place could be SO MUCH better. Any success that they have is due to being the only game in town in downtime Bethel. If someone else opened up a kick ass coffee shop near Molten Java, it would probably be gone in less than a year. I don't like drinking Starbucks coffee, not to mention hanging out there. But when I go to the local Starbucks, I see more and more Molten Java "regulars" getting their coffee there. I guess that tells you something. read more

Molten Java has been a staple in my life ever since I was in middle school and it was located at what is now half of Relay Bookhouse. I make a point of visiting every time I'm in town. I'm pretty sure their pumpkin spice lattes have actual pumpkin in them (!!). The Turkish Latte is my go-to drink, and the veggie chili never disappoints.
