I really wanted to support a local, small business. Originally called because I wanted to place a large order. Googled their number, which wasn't listed. Scrolled down found it on another site. Tried to inform "Sally" their number wasn't listed and asked what it was so that I could update the site for them and so that I didn't have to switch back and forth on the screens. Sally didn't want to give me the number. She asked if that was all I was calling about, I said no, I originally wanted to place a large order, and she stated that I should've started off with that. My guess is if I did start off with that, she would've been nicer. I asked for a manager or owner to call me back (still wanted to talk about placing that large order) and I gave her my number. I doubt it will get passed along to the manager/owner. She rudely hung up on me. Maybe she's having a bad day, I don't know, but that's not how you treat customers. Update: I called back (hoping for someone new). "Sally" answered the phone, said her manager/owner must not have seen the message because it was still posted. She asked why I called again. Again, I'd like to support a small business and explained that. And, I would like for her supervisor or owner to call me. Now all of a sudden, "Sally" is the owner, at least that is what she claims. She basically told me I could go elsewhere before rudely hanging up on me AGAIN. I am always willing and happy to support a small business, just not this one. read more

Lunch at Momma Peggy's today.... Only 7 miles/17 minutes from downtown Sonora. The view alone is worth the drive, and the food never disappoints. We came here because my sister saw a recommended bakery nearby. When we arrived we were delighted with so much more! We had sausage and bacon breakfast sandwiches and a special sandwich for my mom. There are no words for how delicious they were and with farm fresh eggs. The strawberry lemonade was the best I had, the orange juice was so fresh. We ended up ordering more to go. Our host was so amazing and kind to take such a huge order from our family of 9. Her patience and her ability to maintain a welcoming presence went above and beyond. To just top off this delightful breakfast we had an amazing rhubarb cobbler was a 15 out of 10. We will definitely be stopping by again when come back. Highly recommended!! This place is glory. In the summer, this place is like an oasis in the death dessert that is Jimtown. I grew up less than a mile down the road, and let me tell you, it's a delight to not have to drive all the way into town for food/slushees. Speaking of slushees... Peg makes the best slushee I've ever had....ever. Her sandwiches are out of this world fresh, and depending on when you get there, she has other baked goods to offer. Amazing!!!! Peg is an angel and makes you feel right at home. Food is homemade and fresh and tastes soooooo good. We had the meatloaf sandwich which was to die for and while we ate, Peg would let us sample other things she had made that day. Don't come here expecting a menu with an array of things to choose- it's all made fresh for that day and whatever is cooked is what is served which I love! Whoa. Anything, literally anything I've had here has been awesome. There no possible way to get it more home-made than this. Your mom can't even come close. She's a one-woman show, super sweet, treats you like family. The place is tiny, all outdoor seating, complete with a visiting rooster and cat. Best place for miles around. read more

So great! We were passing through on our way to Yosemite and pulled in for lunch. We both had turkey sandwiches, loaded with avocado and other yumminess. Peg was so friendly and helpful, and took some time to get to know us and to tell us about herself. She even have us a complimentary pastry, which was super delicious. I usually stop here for my must needed coffee fix, but today Momma Pegg gave me a sample of her Beef stroganoff soup with homemade croutons on top. OMG!!!!! The best soup. It was as if I was at grandmothers house for Sunday supper. Of course I brought home a whole bowl. I didn't share any of it, Nope.... Don't let the tiny house fool you, this is some serious good home cooked food. Stop in, even if just for a coffee. I always love stopping at Peggy's on my way up to Groveland. Last time, I was there I had the best meat loaf! (Sorry mom) Normally I get a sandwich and forget how big they are. What I love to do is to ask Peggy to make me something great for lunch. Of course it has to be gluten free... ever meal is unique and great. The food is outstanding... it is like having a private chef making a surprise lunch... the baked products look and smell outstanding... Could never get my husband to stop here while driving by, year after year. Finally stopped with my mom and sister. Had some fantastic, amazingly awesome food.
