Look at that perfectly toasted sourdough!
    Lawrence M.

Trust the five star reviews! We came in and asked what was popular. Hands down, the French dip! We ordered two. Why bother sharing when you both want the same thing! The downside is a limited yelp review. Oh well ;) The sourdough was so sour and perfectly toasted. Any sandwich would have been good. My mouth waters typing this. The meat was piled high. The warm au jus came in a little tub. I wish the tub was wider, because the entire sandwich was too big. But anyways, even just a corner dipped was amazing. The store was new and clean. Service was ok, could have been friendlier. Drink selection was average. Good location next to hwy 99 in strip mall.

    Tuna melt

Wow, I was honestly speechless with our experience there. First of we got there and the cashier/ food preparer took our order. I payed cash so he handled money. I then noticed he walked back to making our order with the SAME GLOVES. I asked him to please change his gloves as he had just handled money, he did it. We waited around 20 min for our order of clam chowder and a tuna melt. (We were the only ones there) I was speechless when they brought the food to us, sandwich had black avocado (we payed extra for avocado) and the cheese wasn't melted, bread was cold. For the clam chowder, the veggies were rock hard. I then Asked for a refund as I was not comfortable eating there. I honestly wanted to ask for the refund as soon as I saw him use the same gloves but I decided to give it a shot since he did change them. Never coming here again, the workers did have some attitude. HORRIBLE SERVICE

Sandwich small and way too expensive. I would expect more meat for a $20 sandwich. It's so hard to find good places to eat anymore

We had been meaning to try this place. Great service and fantastic food. Soup and a sandwich was great on a rainy day. Service was great and we got our food quick. Will be back.

Excellent clam chowder without having to go to San Francisco!! Friendly service, also.

    Tomato Soup in bread bowl

My husband and I stopped by on Monday night to try this place out to see how their sourdough bread was. The short answer is that it was delicious and worth the stop! My husband wanted to try the tomato soup in the bread bowl and was so happy and full that he almost finished it all. I ordered the chicken & poblano pepper soup along with a small chicken Caesar salad. Wow! First off, great salad! Best salad with a generous helping of all the toppings with plenty of dressing. The soup was creamy with the tiniest zing for flavor. Extremely mild, but lots of good stuff in it to make it yummy. My favorite part was that they gave me little pieces of sourdough to eat with my soup AND my salad. Delicious carbs live here. We did not order drinks (just got waters) and our meal cost $25. I would happily go there again though and eat this much happier than Panera or McDonald's. The service was very nice and attentive. Restaurant was clean and shiny new. Also, side note that I really liked was the containers the food came in. Easy to pop a to go lid on everything and take your lefties.

It took forever and there was not one other person in the place. There was hardly any meat but the sourdough bun was good.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE THE FOOD AND SERVICE!!! My experience was rude disrespectful and disgusting!!!…read more I took both of my daughters here after school to get mango sticky rice to go, and they also ordered noodles. Unfortunately, this turned into a terrible experience. As we were driving home, my daughter started eating her mango sticky rice and said, "Mommy, there's a long hair in my rice." I looked and saw a long black hair cooked into the rice. Before touching anything, I took a picture of it. I immediately turned around and went back to the restaurant. I told the woman at the counter that there was a hair in my daughter's rice. She responded, "This has never happened before." I told her, "Well, it happened this time." She then said she couldn't see the hair. The restaurant was so dark that I had to turn on the flashlight on my phone just to show it to her. I eventually pulled the hair out of the rice myself and handed it directly to her. She took the hair from my hand and went toward the back. Another woman came out and said she didn't see any hair. I explained that the first woman had already taken the hair from my hand. When I asked for a refund, I was told that I couldn't get one because my daughter had already eaten some of the rice. I explained that she had to eat some of it in order to discover the hair that was cooked into it. My other daughter kept her food, and I even said I would accept a partial refund. The woman continued arguing with me about the refund. I told her this was bad customer service and that if they are preparing and serving food, they need to make sure hair isn't getting into customers' meals and should be wearing proper hair restraints. I then told her that I had a picture of the hair while it was still cooked into the rice and could show it to her. That is when she finally decided to give me my refund. While giving me the refund, instead of apologizing, she proceeded to tell me to get out of the restaurant, never come back again, and that she was going to call the police on me. I couldn't believe the way this was handled. Finding a hair cooked into my daughter's food was bad enough. But denying what I was showing them, taking the actual hair from my hand and then acting as though there was no hair, refusing the refund until I mentioned that I had photographic proof, and then threatening to call the police while telling me never to return was completely unacceptable customer service. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What matters is how a business handles them. A simple apology and refund would have ended the situation immediately. I have the picture of the hair cooked into the rice. We definitely will not be returning.

I can't get over how huge the portions were. That makes Chong's stand out for sure. Also, we asked for "less salt, less sauce" on everything, and it all came out perfectly. Here's what we ordered: * L2 Lunch special: Comes with mongolian beef, chow mein, fried rice, spring roll. I really liked the beef -- a good dish, similar to Panda's. Chow mein was similarly delicious, and the spring roll was fresh, crispy, tasty. The fried rice was the ugly duckling for me. Tasted like rice with soy sauce. That wasn't a big deal though. The rest of the combination was well worth it! * Kung pao chicken: This dish didn't hit the spot for me. The chicken was relatively dry, and I wasn't sure what to make of the taste. It was a bit strange. Not a particular fan, but hey, it was still a large portion! So I'm still a decently happy customer. All in all, there were some misses, but the wins outweigh the losses -- I would more than happily come back to try other dishes! I would highly recommend this place to anyone on a long drive. The massive portions will make you very very happy.

When I got there, there were still some empty open tables, however, as I was leaving, it seems like they're just about all filled up. I got the Mr. milkman cocktail and it was pretty tasty, although I did notice how it appeared, as if there were a lot of wines and other beverages that they were out of. Even with my cocktail, they had to substitute the base with soda water, although it was still tasty. There was probably about 7 to 8 wines/sakes that were crossed out on the menu. Food came out fast, and the service was decent on that chefs end. I got the Korean Stone bowl dish, and It was pretty tasty, although fairly expensive for what it was... rice, veggies, and a little bit of beef, but I do like the concept of having a hot bowl that progressively warms up the rest of the food inside. I really do wish there was more meat inside for the price, I feel like only two or three bites had beef. One thing that I really noticed (and I think I noticed even more because I was sitting at the bar) was how servers and the bartenders spent a lot more time conversing with their friends (who were sitting at the bar) then checking in on some of the other people. Someone did approach me to put in my drink order, but I flagged down the server to put all my other food orders in. I don't think anybody came and asked how my meal was either. I do enjoy the overall ambience of the place, dim mood lighting, a minimalist esthetic, and a bar that really nicely displays some of their high end liquors.
